Chapter 96 - Windblade Swordsmanship

Silver Horn was momentarily startled by the cold light of Masaki's Wind Cutter sword, then sneered, "Do you think a new ninja tool will help you beat me?"

"Do you still not get it?" Masaki smiled faintly. "Killing you isn'tas hard as you think."

A simple sentence expressing his contempt enraged Silver Horn. He gritted his teeth. "Who gives you that confidence?"

"It's not just me," Masaki said, his tone unbothered. "Everyone else feels the same way. Why do you think my Sensei and companions so easily agreed to my request to deal with you alone?"

Silver Horn was taken aback. Indeed, recallinghow the second Hokage and the others had barely reacted when Masaki volunteered to take him on. They just nodded and went to deal with Golden Horn. Only now did he realize that none of them took him seriously.

Given that Silver Horn could still rely on his Taijutsu, hin inability to use ninjutsu after Masaki's  previous strike had severely weakened him. Even with Nine-Tails' Chakra coursing throughhis body, his power was halved. The real threat had always been Kinkaku, not him. With his brother trapped by the Hokage and others, and his own power crippled, Ginkaku found himself isolated and humiliated.

"So," Masaki continued, "Do you still think you can win? Look around you. Your brother is trapped, and your soldiers are surrounded. The numbers that once gave you an advantage are now irrelevant. "

Ginkaku scanned the battlefield. The once-fierce members of the Kinkaku and Ginkaku force were now encircled by Konoha and Kumo ninjas. Even the elite among them had little chance of mounting a meaningful counterattack. Victory was slipping away, and fast.

"Damn traitor, they should have dealt with those Konoha ninjas, but they came to attack us," he growled, glaring at the Kumo ninjas.

"Who are you calling traitors?" Masaki asked, voice sharp. "You and your brother are Kumo Ninjas, disobeyed Raikage. As subordinates, attacking your own leader. If anyone's a traitor, is it you?"

"That's because the second Raikage abandoned our Kumo Ninja Village tradition!" Silver Horn shouted in defiance.

"Traditions of conquest and brute force? That should have been discarded long ago," Masaki scoffed.

"You brat--" Silver Horn couldn't hold back any longer. The crimson chakra of the Nine-Tails surged around him, the oppressive energy distorting the air, creating a gust of wind, and tightening his muscles, ready for action.

Masaki stood still, unfazed by the violent wind while holding his new ninja tool, WindCutter. He could sense the built-up of Ginkaku's chakra with perfect clarity. His Sage Mode allowed him to predict every movement Ginkaku would make before it happened.  In a battle where speed and strength were so closely matched,  it was Masaki's superior control and perception that tipped the scales.

His physical abilities, now boosted by Sage Mode, were on par with Ginkaku's chakra-enhanced speed. Masaki could feel the Senjutsu chakra coursing through him, each movement more precise, each sensation more vivid. Sage Mode wasn't just about power- it was about perfecting every facet of combat.

The Sage Arts is not complete just by practicing it; there are different levels. Masaki, with his personal experience, believed this.

Masaki wasn't sure what level the Sage of Six Paths had achieved, but he was confident with his own mastery of Sage Arts. He could only wonder if he'd ever rise to that godly plateau.

As if reading each other's thoughts, both Masaki and Silver Horn moved simultaneously, closing in quickly. Silver Horn lifted the Seven-Star Sword, and Masaki raised WindCutter. Their eyes locked for a brief moment, both cold and determined.

In an instant, two blades intertwined, followed by a loud noise and brilliant flash. Silver Horn stared in disbelief as his Seven-Star Sword was driven into the ground, WindCutter pressing down on it. Masaki hadn't aimed for a direct collision.

Wind Cutter was designed to made it light and sharp, for high-speed slashing, not for violent collisions with other weapons. It could cut through most ninja tools effortlessly. The Seven-Star Sword, however, was a treasure of the Sage of Six Paths and not easily destroyed. Its shape indicated it wasn't meant for direct collisions with Wind Cutter.

Therefore, Masaki changed his approach, predicting Silver Horn's angle, avoiding the direct slash, and colliding Wind Cutter with the top of the Seven-Star Sword, driving it into the ground. With his weapon buried in the dirt,This left Silver Horn exposed, Masaki's next strike was poised to cut Ginkaku down.

Silver Horn's eyes widened, he couldn't believe the opponent's swordsmanship wasn't just fast- it was mastery, each strike was calculated, combining speed and delicate technique like the swordsmen among samurai.

A chill burst from Silver Horn's heart, reminding him of the sudden power Masaki had unleashed during their first encounter. The same warm wind swirled around him once more.

Without hesitation, Silver Horn abandoned the Seven-Star Sword and sprinting back. Almost simultaneously, the sword light passed where he had been. But before he could celebrate, Masaki swung Wind Cutter, making a throwing motion, and something flew out.

—Eight Points Wind Wheel.

Silver Horn saw the wind wheels enlarge before disappearing. For a moment, thought he'd escaped. A gust of wind blew, making him feel cold. After falling to the ground, he checked his body for injuries, finding none.

—It seems he missed.

Silver Horn breathed a sigh of relief, thinking about how to fight Masaki to the limit. Suddenly, a warm wind blew on his cheek. Such a familiar feeling made Silver Horn's body tremble. Then, his arm slid to the ground.

The delayed pain hit him all at once, and Ginkaku let out a scream of agony. His severed arm had been cleaved cleanly,  but it had happened so fast, he hadn't even felt it.

Masaki stepped forward, eyes cold as he looking at the panic-stricken Silver Horn. For all his bravado, this war fanatic was terrified just like another man facing death. He wondered if Golden Horn would be as pathetic as his brother when his time came.

"Wait-" Silver Horn's began, but the plea died in his throat as Masaki's blade pierced his chest. In an instant, countless sword strikes followed,  tearing through his body.

At the end of his life, Ginkaku saw his brother, Kinkaku, fighting desperately against the second Hokage and his guards. His lips moved, trying to form words, but before he could say anything,  his body was consumed by a flurry of sword lights, unable to speak again.

The force of a ninjutsu clash sent Kinkaku flying,  just in time to witness his brother's gruesome end. Ginkaku's body shattered into fragments,  blood spraying through the air. Kinkaku's eyes blazed with rage as they filled with blood, watching helplessly as the last of his brother's life was extinguished.
