Synopsis

Chapter 1 - Prolog

His life had not yet reached its peak, it ended.

"Kuff...damn...what the hell is this?!"

His eyebrows were crossed and he took on a face of distress, drops of sweat were dripping from his forehead and the light from his green eyes went into darkness.

He was slowly losing his consciousness and a terrible pain was penetrating his body that did not allow him to rest for a moment.

He was confused and did not know how this happened to him.

Until a few moments ago, he was sitting in his room planning for his student association. A young boy who had barely managed to get into university, even though he was an orphan and had spent half of his life in an orphanage, and until this moment he had tried without any laziness or procrastination to achieve what he wanted.

He was abandoned by his parents when he was four years old; He was left in front of an orphanage without any name or address.

So he lived in an orphanage until he reached the age of high school.

But when he was in his first year of high school, he left the orphanage and tried to become independent.

Working part-time jobs and renting a small room, he got through high school without having time for the friendships and fun of his teenage years.

His only goal was to study and go to Sanfort University. One of the best universities in Venegas state.

Admission to that university was very difficult and exhausting and only elite people could walk there.

If you don't have wealth and family, you just need to be talented and build your bright future by going to Sanfort University.

That's why he spends all his free time studying. Even in high school, everyone avoided him and no one even tried to connect with him.

However, with his first attempt and with great difficulty, he was able to pass the Sanfort University entrance exam.

He was among the most talented and elite, even though he had worked hard before, but now he had to redouble his efforts in order to survive among those elite and talented giants.

Because he was not as talented as them.

He was not even a genius, he was only able to achieve it with a lot of effort and sleeplessness and going through many things.

But is all this enough?

No, none of them were enough for him, even if he didn't have the talent, he had to make it.

If he could not be ranked first, then he could try his best to not be last. Because in every three-month evaluation, the lowest ranks were expelled from the university or their points were deducted, and when those points were exhausted, they were expelled.

Sanfort University had strict rules. Because the world was cruel and they needed people to fight against this cruelty and save humanity.

Now he barely completed three years of university and it was close to his graduation time.

He was in his room preparing his things for the mission of the student union when he suddenly felt a cold energy that penetrated even to his bones and burned him. and made him fall from the chair.

He was writhing in pain and his head was shooting from pain. He tried to raise his head and check the surroundings, but a heavy feeling in his head made him unable to even move.

He tried again but was unsuccessful.

He felt a lot of pressure on his body, but no one was by his side.

Fear surged in his body and his hands started shaking, because of the pressure his face and body were swelling.

He felt that if the pressure increased for a moment, his body would be crushed under it. The air in his lungs was gradually decreasing and he could not breathe well.

Green veins protruded from his body and his scalp tingled. Blood flowed from his green eyes and his wheat skin became dark, his brain was no longer working properly and he could not react.

His breath was running out. As the pressure on his body increased, he felt that his body was falling apart and the blood was flowing at a speed beyond his body's capacity.

But these were the last moments of his life, he said with great disbelief in his thoughts:

"Why...why do I have to die like this?

I don't even know why I'm dying. No, I can' t accept this."

He couldn't even scream at this moment.

The pain increased every moment and made him unconscious.

And in a fraction of a second, his body exploded and fell apart from the pressure. The whole small room was decorated with blood and there was no trace of him except blood.

Not even a piece of bone or flesh was left of him, and the only trace of his existence was that bloody room.

A painful and unbelievable death. Perhaps the worst kind of death, without knowing the reason.

The man's soul was in pain and screaming from that horrible death.

"Nooooo....aaaahhhhhh."

The space was covered by a deep darkness and a ray of light appeared in the midst of that darkness.

[The Night King of the Dead welcomes you to the spirit world.]

[the host:

Name: Alex

Age: 22

Height: 188

Type: Soul???

Skill:???]

[Do you want to go back? yes / no]

[No response received from the host, the mission is automatically accepted.]

A soul was floating in the middle of that darkness like a fish in the sea, and it had not yet gained its consciousness and did not know how its life path would be.

That he will go to the afterlife or become a wandering spirit in this world because of his anger.

Many voices were echoing in his head and he was not aware of what was happening to him. His consciousness was slowly returning, so now he could hear the sounds around him better.

An annoying voice was calling him.

[Host wake up. Hey, Alex, wake up.]

"What's going on here?! What's that sound?!"

He slowly opened his eyes. It was dark everywhere. Suddenly, a floating text appeared in front of him in the darkness.

"ThisWhat else?!"

[Oh Host, you are woken up.]

Alex was completely shocked and didn't know what to say, he tried to keep his cool-headed.

Anyway, it was not that strange. Because the world they lived in was not an ordinary place. A world with different characteristics.

So the existence of such a thing was not so far from the mind.

Anyway, it was like a user interface that he used in university.

A small chip was embedded in the body and provided them with artificial intelligence that analyzed their characteristics and abilities and many other uses that they could do with that chip, such as exchanging points and making purchases.

He just wondered why such a thing had been found in this situation. He was sure he was dead. And a dead human could not connect to an artificial intelligence.

So he asked with a little hesitation: "well, what are you?"

Noticing the boy's confusion, the system introduced itself again.

[I am the king of the night of the dead.

I am not a normal system or artificial intelligence.

I am a being that is connected to your soul. The host is not in a position to know more at this time.]

"What do you mean I don't have more access?!"

[There are limitations that you can overcome by completing the mission and get answers to your questions.

Host, I will broadcast a part of your memories, according to which you will complete the mission.]

Alex, who is still in a daze, suddenly encountered a part of his memories that appeared in front of his eyes like a video.

*********

A piece of memories:

The calm and quiet child who did not cry was sitting in front of the orphanage door, holding his knees in his arms and staring at the sky without saying anything.

The nurse who was responsible for taking care of the children noticed that child from the window, who looked like a little kitten who had lost its mother, so she went to that child and spoke to him with kindness and a warm voice.

"Hello dear, do you want to come in, is it cold outside?!"

The child, who was staring at the sky, woke up unconsciously after hearing that warm voice and noticed the nurse.

He slowly looked at the nurse's face and nodded his head without saying a word.

So the nurse slowly stretched her hand towards the child to take his hands, but the child refused to move and got up without the help of the nurse.

The nurse accompanied the child without saying anything and guided him inside.

There was a small orphanage with limited space and facilities. And it had the capacity to take care of 100 children. However, it was the best place for those children who were orphans and had no guardians and no place to live. And the staff there were kind people. So the children who lived there were happy even though they had few facilities.

The nurse took the child to the consultation room, the room had a large space, in the corner of the room there was a small library with many books on its shelves, and next to the library there was a series of shelves containing many files.

Among those books and files, there was a small doll that the boy's attention was drawn to, so he went towards that doll.

That doll was on the fourth shelf, the boy tried to reach it by standing on his toes, but he was short and no matter how hard he tried, he could not pick it up.

The nurse, who witnessed the child's efforts from a distance, went to him and kindly said: "Do you want me to help you?"

The boy remained silent and did not say anything, but by shaking his head as a sign of approval, he accepted the nurse's help.

So the nurse took the doll and gave it to the boy.

The boy stared at that not so beautiful doll with curious and excited eyes.

[The end of a piece of memories of the soul.]
