Huff! Huff!
Mantis trudged through the dark tunnels, green blood tinged with hints of red and black trailing behind him. He was in a sorry state.
His body was covered in cuts, his lungs punctured and barely functioning. Debris and rocks filled his lungs, and every breath he took hurt like hell.
His metallic, robot-like arms were gone, along with his wings, leaving behind nothing but cleanly severed stumps. He looked even worse than the dead mutant beasts that littered the tunnels.
His face was pale, and his eyes were droopy, but despite his terrible appearance, there was no hopelessness in his gaze. Instead, his barely open eyes burned with a fiery passion, filled with anger, malice, and deep-rooted horror.
The reason for his defiance was unknown, but one thing was for sure: Mantis didn't believe this was the end for him.
