The next morning, King Thalion of Sylvana arrived at the site where the stonemasons were working on the new construction project. He was dressed in his royal attire, his presence commanding attention from all who saw him.
"Good morrow, my loyal subjects," he said, his voice booming across the site. "I have come to inspect the progress of our great project. I must say, I am impressed with what I see so far."
The stonemasons bowed their heads in respect, grateful for the king's praise.
"However," the king continued, "I must stress the importance of completing this project as soon as possible. We have a special visitor arriving from the city, an old friend of mine who has heard of our great city's construction prowess. I wish to show him that our city is indeed the best in the world, and that our construction is second to none."
The stonemasons nodded eagerly, determined to complete the project to the king's satisfaction.
"We will work day and night, your majesty," one of them said. "We will not disappoint you."
King Thalion smiled, pleased with their enthusiasm. "I have no doubt that you will succeed," he said. "You are the best stonemasons in the land, and I have every confidence in your abilities."
With that, the king departed, leaving the stonemasons to their work. They redoubled their efforts, determined to complete the project on time and make their king proud.
Elrik visited Aana's house, seeking comfort and guidance from his friend. As they sat in her living room, Elrik opened up about his feelings.
"Aana, I'm so frustrated," Elrik said, his voice laced with emotion. "My father is always pushing me to be better, to excel in my craft. But no matter how hard I try, he never seems to be satisfied. I feel like I'll never make him proud."
Aana listened attentively, her eyes filled with compassion. "Elrik, your father loves you dearly," she said. "He wants the best for you, and that's why he pushes you so hard. But I know that one day, he will be proud of you. You are an amazing person, Elrik, and you have so much potential."
Elrik sighed, feeling a mix of emotions. "I hope so, Aana. I really do. I want to make him proud, but sometimes it feels like no matter what I do, it's never enough."
Aana put a hand on his arm, her touch warm and comforting. "Elrik, your father will come around. Just keep being your amazing self, and he will see how talented and capable you are. And even if he doesn't show it, know that I am proud of you, and that you have a friend who believes in you no matter what."
Elrik smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Aana. "Thanks, Aana. You're a true friend."
Aana's eyes sparkled with excitement as she spoke. "Tomorrow, I am going to participate in the painting competition conducted by the Arkana! It's a great opportunity for me to showcase my skills and learn from other talented artists."
Elrik's eyes widened in surprise. "The Arkana? That's a prestigious organization! Your art must be incredibly good for you to be considered for the competition."
Aana blushed, her cheeks flushing with pride. "Thank you, Elrik. I've worked hard to hone my craft, and I'm hoping to make a good impression. The competition is going to be tough, but I'm ready for the challenge."
Elrik grinned, feeling a surge of support for his friend. "I have no doubt you'll do great, Aana! Your paintings are always so full of life and beauty. You deserve to win!"
Aana smiled, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thanks, Elrik. Your encouragement means a lot to me. I'll make sure to do my best and make our city proud!"
