I arrived at the battlefield and managed to see Milim. Her body had changed; her hands and legs had become dragon limbs, and the most notable thing was the energy she was manifesting—it was Rage.
The man she was fighting was Guy, who managed to hold his own despite Milim's overwhelming energy.
I saw Ramiris in the distance, absorbing the energies of both. I teleported to her side and looked at her, somewhat astonished by her audacity. "You know that such an action will corrupt your essence, Ramiris."
I stated it more as an affirmation than a question. She flinched when she saw me, but quickly focused on continuing to absorb, although she responded without looking me in the face.
"I know, but I can't allow the world to be destroyed by these two's battle. If I must lose my identity to save it, then that's okay," she said with resolute determination in her voice.
"Besides... it's my duty; Veldanava entrusted it to me," she finished in a low voice.
I sighed at such a thing—admirable but ultimately foolish. "Avalon will purify you, very, very, very slowly, but it will."
Ramiris snorted. "You better go calm your niece before she destroys the world."
"Mmm, not yet. I'll wait until she becomes familiar with her new skills," I replied in an indifferent tone.
---
Hours passed as Milim and Guy continued to fight. Meanwhile, I helped Ramiris contain the chaotic energy they were emitting to prevent further destruction of the surrounding area.
When I saw that Milim could now manipulate her powers decently, I teleported in front of them. "Alright, that's enough. Guy, let me reason with my niece."
Guy was panting from exhaustion and nodded as he moved to Ramiris's side. I turned to see Milim; she still had red eyes due to her new ability.
"Milim, please stop; the destruction you've caused is enough," I spoke softly. This did not work, as she threw a direct punch to my face.
I was stunned by that blow; even Ramiris and Guy were shocked. But I quickly recovered and looked at Milim, who was also taken aback after hitting me.
I narrowed my eyes and thought of several ways to react, but in the end, I shook my head and smiled. "I'll tell Morgana about this when we get back..."
Milim paled when I mentioned Morgana; her eyes returned to their normal color, her aura retracted, and her body returned to normal as her clothes regained their maximum splendor.
I thought about teasing her a bit, but then I noticed she started to cry. I approached her and hugged her while patting her back, as I had read that kids liked that.
"Hey, don't cry; Gaia is fine. She was just tired from the battle she had; Morgana took her home," I consoled her for several minutes until she calmed down a bit.
Even though her eyes were still red, she said, "But I saw her; she wasn't breathing, she wasn't moving..."
"I know, but trust me just a little," I declared before she could say anything else. "When have I broken my word? Gaia is strong, and she is already healing from her wounds; trust me."
Milim nodded, and a smile grew on her face as her eyes grew heavy. Seconds later, she fainted. I picked her up in my arms and approached Ramiris and Guy with a smile.
"I apologize for such destruction. It's my duty to face my niece, so please let me fix this," I said in an apologetic tone.
I looked at the ruins of what was once the Elf Kingdom. With a thought, a thick mist of deep blue emanated from my body and covered the ruins of the battle.
After a few seconds, the mist receded back to my body like a tide, and the ruins were replaced by a lush green meadow.
I turned around and looked at the two of them. "That should be enough; this place cannot be claimed by any kingdom; anyone who tries will fall into disgrace."
"Besides, I thank you for stopping my niece. The world couldn't have withstood her for much longer," I said sincerely.
Guy and Ramiris shook their heads and sighed. Guy wore an annoyed smile as he said, "It's fine; I gained some skills anyway, haha."
I looked at him for a moment and nodded. "Mmm, indeed, but you have trouble handling them. Let me give you a gift as thanks for stopping Milim." After speaking, the voice of the world was heard.
{Confirmed. Initiating modification of the ultimate skill [Wrathful King Satanael]... modification failed.
Searching for solution... success. Initiating fusion of the ultimate skill [Wrathful King Satanael] and the ultimate skill [Proud King Lucifer] to obtain a new skill... successful.
The ultimate skills have fused into the ultimate skill [Omnipotent King Belial].}
Everything happened in a few seconds; Guy was stunned and did not react until the new skill integrated into his soul.
I laughed at his expression and turned to look at Ramiris. "You too, Ramiris; you sacrificed your own life, and that deserves a reward."
I stopped her with a look before she could start complaining that "it was her duty."
"Avalon wasn't designed to purify souls; it's simply being the owner of Avalon that will allow you to purify yourself gradually, so I added something to purify you," I responded with laziness. "Without that, it would take you thousands of years to purify yourself."
Preparing to leave, I stopped and looked at them. "While my brother gave you the task of supervising and protecting the world, that doesn't mean you don't deserve your reward."
I disappeared, leaving those words hanging in the air.
"Hmph, I don't know how he can say encouraging words in such an indifferent tone," Ramiris said while stomping her foot.
Guy smiled while shaking his head. "Velzarion is just like Veldanava—two sides of the same coin," he said, and Ramiris nodded with a thoughtful expression.
Then they both looked at the land where the Elf Kingdom once was, replaced by a beautiful meadow filled with flowers.
What they did not notice was that the number of flowers in the meadow was the same as the number of elves who died in Milim's massacre.
