I entered the guild and the first thing I thought was, "So many people."
Yara followed me, nervously glancing at those talking about us. "Why are they looking at us like that? It scares me," she said in a low voice.
"They think we'll die on our first day in the dungeons," I replied, walking toward the only receptionist without a line.
"Good afternoon, I'd like to register both of us," I spoke to the receptionist. She was a half-elf, judging by her ears, and had the serious demeanor of someone who took her job seriously.
The woman looked at Yara and me for a moment before ignoring us.
I raised an eyebrow at her attitude. "Excuse me, miss, didn't you hear me?" I asked, confused.
The woman glanced back at me and began to rant loudly. "Do you think being an adventurer is a game?! It's life or death..." She couldn't finish, as I silenced her.
I patted Yara's head, who was trembling with fear, and looked at the receptionist. "It seems there's a slight misunderstanding," my voice turned serious as I met her gaze.
"What I think doesn't concern you, and what you think doesn't concern me. Keep your complaints to yourself and register us, or I'll go to another receptionist," I said while the other receptionists looked at me.
The adventurers in the guild turned to stare at us as if we had grown another head. I ignored them as I kept my focus on the half-elf.
She seemed surprised but quickly composed herself. I noticed how she hid her anger while a professional smile grew on her face.
"My apologies, I took my frustration out on you when I shouldn't have. I'm sorry. Let me find the registration papers," she said as she walked away.
I simply nodded and waited until Yara innocently asked, "Why do you think they think that? That we'll die on our first day?"
"Because of my clothes or your attitude," I replied simply. Yara blinked, tilting her head in confusion. "What's wrong with your clothes and my attitude?"
I sighed in frustration, a new feeling I had developed. "My clothes are those of a young master trying to prove to his parents that he's worth something, and your fearful, naive attitude doesn't inspire confidence," I said directly.
Yara froze, blinking as she processed my words. Only after a minute did she understand.
"Ahhh, I see," she said, nodding.
The receptionist returned as we were talking. "Please follow me to a private room so we can register you," she said, walking toward a room.
We followed her and entered before she closed the door. We sat on the sofas, with Yara on my right and the receptionist across from us.
"Very well, let's begin. Mr. and Miss..."
"Velzarión, Velzarión Nava," I said while clasping my hands together.
"Yara Bellemere, miss," Yara replied with a smile.
The receptionist nodded as she wrote down the names. "I apologize for not introducing myself earlier. I'm Eina Tulle, the guild receptionist."
"Also, I'd like to apologize again for my outburst earlier. It's not something I usually do; it's just that another adventurer I was watching over died," she added, evident sadness in her voice.
I shook my head, seeing her words were sincere. "It's fine; you don't have to apologize. I understand your pain."
Eina relaxed her tense shoulders and smiled a little. "Very well, let's get started with the paperwork."
---
We spent almost two hours registering. This made me realize that modern methods are better than medieval ones.
We left the guild just before 5 PM; Yara was dozing off next to me.
"Remember to find a family to join, Velzarión, Yara," someone shouted as we said our goodbyes.
I nodded in agreement and we walked through the streets. They were busier than when we arrived; it must be because adventurers were coming out of the dungeons.
I looked at Yara beside me, who was almost asleep. "Yara, let's find a place to eat."
The food instantly cured her insomnia. "Yes! Let's go, I'm so hungry, Velzar!" she said, dragging me along.
I could only sigh as I followed her.
---
Half an hour later, we found a tavern named "Hostess of Fertility" on its sign.
"That name doesn't inspire confidence," I commented as I looked at the sign. Yara next to me was equally flustered at seeing the word "fertility."
Just as I was thinking of looking for another tavern, a semi-human girl in a waitress outfit opened the doors with a smile.
The girl had brown hair, brown eyes, cat ears, and a matching tail, along with a green and white waitress dress. She was a pretty young woman.
"Hello! Welcome to the Hostess of Fertility, I'm Anya Fromel, nya! Please, come in and sit at a table, come, come!" Before we could say anything, she dragged us into the tavern.
It was somewhat full, and the adventurers eating there barely glanced at us as we entered. I ignored them as we sat at a distant table.
"Here's the menu, let me know what you're going to eat, nya!" the cat-girl, Anya, said.
I looked over the menu and ended up ordering fried fish with rice and salad, along with a glass of beer.
"And you, Yara, what will you order?" I asked, seeing her indecisive.
Yara was silent for a moment, then looked at Anya with a smile. "I'll have the same as Velzar, including the beer."
Anya nodded and was ready to leave when I stopped her. "The food is fine, but change the beer for juice."
"Hey! That's not fair. You ordered beer, why can't I?!" she shouted indignantly as I ignored her and gestured for Anya to go.
"You're in your growth phase; drinking alcohol would stunt your growth," I emphasized.
Mentioning her height only made her angrier; she was barely 1.55 meters despite being 20 years old.
"You... what a low blow! I know I'll grow; I still have time, you insensitive jerk, hmmp!" she huffed, though a laugh escaped her lips.
An imperceptible smile appeared on my lips as I watched her get angry; it reminded me of Velzard, although she grew too fast and with it her attitude.
Minutes later, the waitress returned with a glass of juice and one of beer. "Your food is being prepared; in the meantime, enjoy some of our beer, nya!" she said as she placed the beers on the table.
I noticed she wanted to ask something, so I spoke up. "Do you have something to say, girl?"
She immediately started to ramble. "How come you call me 'girl'?! You don't look much older than me, nya!" As she spoke, she paused and said, "Where are you from? I can see from your clothes, at least yours, that you're not common folk. What brings you to Orario? Nya!"
"For my part, I'm from a very distant place; as for my companion, it's better not to ask. We came to Orario to become adventurers," I explained while taking a sip of beer. 'Not bad,' I thought.
After hearing that, Anya stopped asking questions and instead said, "I understand, but you must be careful in the dungeon, nya! Many people don't return, and you two seem nice to me, nya!"
"You barely know us, how can we seem nice to you, girl?" I asked, somewhat curious.
Anya didn't even think about her answer. "Instinct, nya!"
"I'll leave now before my mom scolds me, nya! Enjoy your meal," she said as she walked away, and a silver-haired girl in the same waitress uniform brought our food.
After placing our plates on the table, she smiled at Yara for a moment before turning back to me and staring in shock.
At that moment, I felt my saint graph being scrutinized without restraint. I narrowed my eyes and sent a pulse to her eyes, causing her to grab them in pain as she fell to the floor.
Everyone in the bar turned to look at us and the waitress on the floor. Ignoring the stares, I got up and approached the waitress while checking her eyes.
"I hope you don't do something foolish like that again," I whispered so only she could hear as I healed her and noticed the other waitresses and a tall, robust woman approaching quickly.
Mom and the others noticed when Syr fainted; they also saw the man in the black suit catch her.
The waitresses, including Anya, took the unconscious waitress away, while Mia continued to stare at me.
"Tell me, do you know why Syr fainted?" the woman Mia asked angrily.
I shook my head while cleaning my hands. "I have no idea; you can ask the girl directly when she wakes up," I replied as I sat back down at the table.
Mia looked at me for a few seconds and sighed as she glanced at the two waitresses who remained. "Fine, Chloe and Ryuu, take care of Syr until she wakes up," and turned back to me.
"And you, suit guy, finish eating, pay, and leave," she finished saying as she walked away.
I ignored her while watching Yara eat as if there were no tomorrow. "Hey, you're going to get fat if you keep eating like that," I said, only to receive a smack on the back of my neck.
"Shut up, idiot," she muttered while shoveling more food into her mouth.

Author's note: I would like to say that I am doing a chapter review and I am very unhappy. When translating the chapters to English, words are lost or changed and I don't like it, for that reason I decided to do this same fanfic but in Spanish. It will have some variations that I will surely change but nothing important.
I feel that by doing one in my native language, I will be able to write more comfortably. So you know.
