Hirvan and Fu Yan made their way toward the elevator. Hirvan felt a strange sensation as if someone's eyes were boring into the back of his head. It made the hair on his neck stand on end. He turned abruptly, scanning the empty space outside the closing elevator doors. No one was there. He frowned slightly, trying to shake off the unsettling feeling. Maybe he was just being paranoid.
He shrugged his shoulder and turned towards Fu Yan.
"So, weren't you with your grandpa and family?"
Hirvan asked, glancing at Fu Yan as they stood in the elevator.
"Why are you so late?"
Fu Yan's lips curled into a sheepish smile as he pressed the button for their floor.
"Sorry, I had to run an errand separately from them. Did you wait long?"
Hirvan shook his head, offering a small smile. "No. That was okay." His voice was light, but a certain unease still lingered beneath his calm facade.
