Kai stuffed his face with rice as he watched the attempt to start the bus for the third time, keeping his vision mainly focused on Ray.
"In The novel, he was kinda freaking out during this point in time. But right now, he's completely calm; he defiantly regressed." Kai watched him from behind a car as he peeked his head out from the side and looked over at Ray, who was inside the bus, towards the back.
Ray quickly glanced in the direction just in time to catch a horn disappearing behind the car; Kai acted quickly but not quickly enough. Ray was already fully facing the vehicle, and the blood on his face was utterly drained; he looked almost pale.

Kai felt himself almost pass out.
'Shithe t he's on to me.' Kai grabbed his phone and started typing something in on YouTube before he pulled out a speaker. He connected the speaker to his phone, and the sound of a siren started ringing out across the parking lot before the speaker was quickly chucked at the bus.
'Making enemies with me isn't the greatest idea, but fighting you head-on is a horrible idea.' a horde of zombies rushed the bus. They moved quickly and sloppy, crushing and running over each other without a care in the world before flinging their bodies at the bus.
The zombies all hit the bus and almost tipped it over before Ray held his hand toward them. His palm facing down, he pulled back his index and pinkie fingers before closing his middle and pointer fingers.
With this quick and cuddle display of motion, all the zombies were sliced into bits, leaving chunks of rotten meat splattering against the ground.
Ray flung his fingers upward at the car Kai was behind. The car was instantly cut into three slices and flung in two directions. Ray looked at the spot where the car was and saw that no one was there anymore.
"What?" Ray said to himself as the other kids and adults on the bus looked at him in fear and confusion.
Ray turned his body away from the window before a sound of shattering glass rang through the bus as a bang was heard. Ray looked outside to see Kai perched up with a handgun on a ledge before staring straight at Ray.
Ray's eyes widened as he noticed the inhuman features on Kai's person. Kai stood up and fired off three more shots at the bus, Making everyone on the bus dive to the floor.
Ray returned to look out the window to try and spot Kai, but he was already gone.
"I already have enough to deal with! Now there's some fucking mutant demon person adding to my problems!!" Ray slammed his hand on the bus wall as he staired out of the broken window. The bus then roared to life as they finally got it to start up.
Asia from before grabbed onto Ray as the bus started moving. "He was what threw me over the wall." Another girl on the other side of Ray glared at Asia before pulling Ray towards her chest.
Ray looked frustrated as he pulled himself away from the girls and walked to the back of the bus.
'We need weapons, and I know three places that currently have good weapons that came to Earth because of this apocalypse.' Ray sent a location to someone on his phone before the bus driver's phone pinged.

Kai dashed across rooftops and made a B line for one singular location. He could run at inhuman speeds and make jumps that would be impossible if he weren't superhuman.
'There are three weapons I know of around here. I need to get one of these before Ray collects them. I have one specific one in mind.' Kai jumped down and through the window of a building before slicing halfway into a zombie's head, kicking it into a wall, and running out of another window before crashing into a wall.
"Ahgh!" Kai shouted as he grabbed a railing and pulled himself up before breaking the window with a bat. He jumped into a warehouse with red fog emerging from the center of the room. In the center of the room was a pile of flesh with blinking eyes all over it.
On the very top of the living flesh was a katana. The blade of this katana had three eyes going down the blade on each side.
'Ray is probably getting the other astral items that are in the area just so he can defeat and obtain this sword. But I can't lose any time. If Ray regresses, he will 100% get this weapon if I don't try now!' Kai pulled out his handgun and started shooting out all the eyes he could see.
The eyes that had been shot turned into mouths filled with teeth; tentacles shot out of the mouths before growing fingers on the ends of them as they attempted to grab Kai.
Kai wasted no time dashing away before jumping off the railing onto one of the tentacles. He pulled out his machete and plunged it deep into another eye before it closed and turned into a mouth. Kai proceeded to jump off the machete handle and run up the beast as he continued to shoot out the creature's eyes.
"I won't need it after I obtain that KATANA!" Kai jumped up towards the blade before a tentacle jetted up from around the beast towards his head; Kai's red eyes gleamed as the tentacle went almost in slow motion. He moved the gun towards the tentacle and shot it before pushing out his hand towards one of the creature's eyes. Red lighting wrapped around his horns before the three worm-like creatures jumped out from his palm and grabbed onto the creature's flesh before chewing and biting it. They burrowed quickly into its flesh with their new size.
They started to grow significantly, and you could see them getting more considerable under the monster's skin as it wailed in pain. Kai grabbed Ont the sword before pushing the same energy that came from his horns into it. The sword's eyes opened before showing a satisfied expression.

The horror that was made of flesh exploded with a loud popping sound as blood splattered across the whole warehouse. Kai twirled the sword around before a scabbard appeared across his lower back. He sheathed it slowly as he cracked an inhuman smile for the first time, showing off his sharp fangs in his mouth as blood dripped down from the ceiling onto his face and all over the warehouse floor.
"I really did it—" the creatures raised themselves from the pile of meat they were once swimming in. They had grown in size; they were now bigger and taller than Kai and had arms. They still had smaller legs going down their bodies, but they had long, spindly arms close to their long heads. They had pencils in their mouths and four eyes on their heads.
They crawled towards Kai quickly before melting away and returning to his horns as the black and red sludge they once were.
The sun hit his eyes through the windows of the warehouse, Kai shielded his eyes from the sun before looking at the sun rising up from the window.
He climbed up the latter of the ware house and walked to the window of the warehouse and looked outside and embraced the scienarly of the burning buildings and the world ending.
"It looks bad but for some reason I feel strangely at peace" Kai closed his eyes and took a deep breath in before his peace was disrupted.
The wars house doors made a louder scratching sound as they slowly slid open.
Ray along with three other people walked into the warehouse.
