Li Wei dashed towards the elite guards, his movements a blur of desperation and determination.
But he had underestimated their reflexes. In a flash of steel, one of the guards' katanas sliced through the air, finding its mark across Li Wei's stomach.
Time seemed to slow as Li Wei's eyes widened in disbelief. "Fuck," he muttered, his hands instinctively moving to his abdomen.
He felt the warm, sticky sensation of his own blood seeping through his fingers, dripping onto the pristine white floor below.
As the pain began to register, Li Wei's mind raced. He quickly accessed the System, hoping against hope that he could use his accumulated points to heal himself.
But as he scrolled through the options, his heart sank.

A bitter smile crossed Li Wei's face. "I guess the System needs me to die," he muttered darkly. But then, a thought struck him.
What if he could use his points to boost his physical abilities instead?
To his surprise, when he checked, he found that his pain reduction ability had been deactivated without his knowledge.
More importantly, boosting his other abilities was still possible. His smile widened, taking on a manic edge.
I never knew there was something like a cheat in this System," he said to himself.
Without hesitation, Li Wei began pouring all of his accumulated points into boosting his abilities. The System interface flickered to life before his eyes:

As the last point was spent, Li Wei felt a rush of power coursing through his veins.
The pain from his wounds became a distant throb, overwhelmed by the surge of enhanced abilities.
He started laughing, the sound echoing off the stark walls of the corridor. His smile grew wider and wilder with each passing second.
The elite guards, who had been advancing cautiously, now hesitated. There was something unnerving about the bloodied man before them, laughing in the face of what should have been certain death.
He Lay down both Katana the sound chattering in the corridor.
Li Wei's lips curled into a cold smile. "Good," he whispered, his voice carrying an otherworldly chill. "Show me your resolve."
The first guard reached him, katana whistling through the air in a deadly arc.
Li Wei moved with inhuman speed, his body twisting to avoid the blade by mere millimeters.
He could feel the rush of air as the sword passed, close enough to slice a few strands of his hair.
In the same fluid motion, Li Wei's hand shot out, fingers curled like claws. He pierced his claws in the guard's chest, digging through fabric, flesh, and bone with terrifying ease.
The guard's eyes widened in shock and pain, a gurgled scream dying in his throat as Li Wei's hand closed around his heart.
The second guard, seeing his comrade's fate, let out a battle cry and thrust his blade towards Li Wei's back.
But Li Wei was ready. Using the impaled guard as a shield, he spun, the katana meant for him instead piercing through his human shield.
In that moment of the second guard's shock, Li Wei acted. He released the lifeless body of the first guard and lunged forward.
His hand, slick with blood, grasped the second guard's sword arm. With a sickening crack, he twisted, shattering bone and sinew.
The guard's scream of agony was cut short as Li Wei's other hand found his throat.
Lifting the man off his feet with inhuman strength, Let me see you die Li Wei whispered.
He stared into his eyes, watching as the light of life slowly faded.
"Your resolve was admirable," He said, his voice eerily calm. "But ultimately futile."
With a final squeeze, he crushed the guard's windpipe, letting the body drop to join the others on the blood-soaked floor.

As the rush of combat began to fade, Li Wei surveyed the carnage around him.
He made his way down the corridor, stepping over broken bodies and pools of blood. His movements were smooth and deadly.
The wound in his stomach, which should have been painful, was now little more than an irritation.
The System had pushed his body far beyond normal human limits.
At the end of the blood-soaked hallway, Li Wei found what he was looking for: an elevator. As he approached, he caught his reflection in the shiny surface.
His eyes widened slightly at the sight.
Blood covered him from head to toe. But there was something... different about his stance, his presence. He looked dangerous, more than human.
Li Wei pressed the call button, leaving a bloody fingerprint on the clean surface. As he waited for the elevator to arrive.

The elevator began its ascent, carrying Li Wei towards his next trial. As he felt the gentle pull of acceleration, a small, cold smile played on his lips.
Whatever comes next, am ready.
