"This way your highness," Calvan said, grabbing Freya's arm. "I know where to go" Freya said ripping her arm out or his grip. Calvan walked Freya all the way to the throne room. As soon as they arrived the 2 knights standing in front of the door opened it allowing her to enter.
Freya walked past the large group of nobles that stood on both sides of the room and only stopped at the bottom of the steps that led to the throne.
"Aren't you going to bow and greet me sister" said the man with silver hair and emerald eyes who sat on the throne. "When the sun rises In the west and sets in the east dear YOUNGER brother" Freya said emphasizing the word younger.
"Bow to his majesty and greet him," Calvan said, putting his hand on her shoulder, before being grabbed by Freya and flipped over her. "Do not lay your filthy hands on me" she told Calvan who was now on the ground. "Be happy I do not behead you here for your insolence sister" Sevian told her. "I worry not for my death, Sevian," she said. "I was the one who killed our father," Sevian said. "Do not think I will hesitate to kill you," he added.
"Then do it" she told him. "Kill me and be rid of me once and for all" she added. He was silent. "As I thought" Freya said. "This marriage must be important" Freya said with a sly smile. "Which kingdom or empire?" Freya asked. "Lamore... frayond... mayton..." Freya began to list off the different countries. "Or is it perhaps Roland?" She asked. "Though I'm sure they would never make allies with a country whose king killed their own kin," she said.
"That's enough Freya," Sevian said. "You may marry me off as you wish for I am only a woman with the power of my blood" she said "but I promise you... keeping me alive will be your downfall Sevian" she told him.
"Take the princess away and prepare her for her ceremony" Sevian said and 2 knights suddenly grabbed her. "I'm sure the queen of roland and her crown prince will be most pleased to have you as their next queen consort dear sister" Sevian said as they dragged her out of the throne room.
Freya was taken to a guest room and quickly cleaned up. "Are you ready?" A maid asked. "For what?" Freya asked unemotionally. "To meet the queen, she wishes to see you before your wedding," the Maid said.
"Take me to her," Freya demanded. "Your highness you're not ready yet" the Maid said as Freya stood up. "Take me to her," Freya said once more. The Maid gave Freya a nod before leading her to the guest quarters where the queen was staying. The Maid knocked on the door. "Enter" was the only thing heard from the other side. The Maid opened the door and Freya entered the room, with the Maid following her.
"I greet your majesty the queen of Roland" Freya said with a simple head bow. "Stubborn till the end I see" said queen Layla of Roland. "You may go," Layla told the maid. The queen was a gorgeous black woman who looked to be in her 40s with curly black hair and brown eyes. "I cannot leave her, it is an order from his majesty," said the maid.
"I pray you don't make me repeat my words," Layla said. "Yes your majesty" the Maid said with a gulp and a quick bow before leaving and closing the door behind her. "Do you truly wish for an alliance with my brother?" Freya asked. "If I did, I would marry my daughter to him, not you to my son," Layla told her.
"Then what is it you want?" Freya asked simply. "I wish to help you," Layla said. "Ever since your father the king was killed I've had men watching you and your brother from a distance" Layla told her. "In that time I've learned Sevian truly is not meant to wear the crown," Layla added. "And you believe I am?" Freya asked.
"You are the rightful heir," Layla said. "The king's first born child and the one whom he himself named as his heir" Layla added. "I understand you putting eyes on Sevian in case he decided to attack Roland but why me?" Freya asked.
"I put eyes on you in case the day ever came where you would change your mind and fight for your rightful place" Layla explained. "I see" Freya said. "It is true that I wish to take back what once belonged to me, but even with the aide of Roland I have not enough allies" Freya said. "Roland is not the only country that believes Sevian to be unfit to keep the peace" Layla said.
"You will need to convince them but I doubt it will be difficult," Layla added. "If you've truly been watching me I presume you know of the villagers heading to roland?" Freya asked. "The people as well as your Dragons will be welcome with open arms so long as you agree to marry my son" Layla said.
"What is it you truly get from my marrying him?" Freya asked. "Dragons" Layla said. "I only have 2 as of now" Freya said. "But the day will come when you will have more I'm sure" Layla said. "I will only agree to marry him if he himself agrees to marry me as well" Freya told her. "I would expect no less" Layla said.
"Christian please come in," Layla said loudly. The door to the connecting room opened and a black man with short black hair with tight curls and brown eyes entered the room. "Princess Freya, it is truly an honor to meet you" said Christian. "You are to be my betrothed?" Freya asked. "Yes," Christian answered.
"You agree to marry me of your own will even though this marriage is not that of love?" Freya asked. "I do Princess" Christian said. "I believe together you and I can restore you to your rightful place as well as bring peace across the continent" he said with a smile
