Adrien woke up the next morning feeling refreshed. He changed into his morning exercise outfit, consisting of a long-sleeved shirt and sweatpants; an outfit that had become popular among the commoner men and knights.
After his morning walk and a shower, he made his way towards the music hall. He had two music classes, and an art class that day.
He was loving this laxed teaching system the nobles had. It allowed for him to have plenty of time to himself in the afternoon.
He found the classroom after a while of searching. Entering into the large room, he took a seat among one of the many empty seats. There were only two other students present at the moment and both seemed unconcerned with conversing with one another.
In the back of the large classroom were various types of wind and string instruments that were situated in their stands and cases. At the front of the classroom, sitting in a large empty space, was a beautiful grand piano that caught Adrien's eye. It was the same kind of piano that the Mallornes had, the same one that the original Adrien used to play when he was younger.
The rest of the class piled in not long after. Following behind them was a beanpole of a man with floppy brown hair and large round glasses who just so happened to be their teacher.
The class passed by with relative ease. The only requirement for the day was to test everyone's ability with the various musical instruments that had been meticulously displayed at the back of the room.
The first student to perform was a girl who was as short as she was busty. She picked up a violin and flicked her long dirt-colored hair back over her shoulder. The music that poured out was both soothing and serene.
Adrien sat back in his chair and listened intently. His hands grew jittery with want. It had been a long time since he last had the opportunity to play an instrument since he had been busy with his studies in his previous life. And because of his sudden reincarnation and the intense studying he had placed himself under, he had no free time to play the violin that the original Adrien had previously stored in his room.
Music was something he had loved when he was Lee Seo-jun and had wanted to pursue but he had put it on the back burner in pursuit of his studies and the chance for a good career. He believed that finding a way to land a good job and making money was more important than pursuing his hobby. Anything was more important if it meant he could support his sisters.
It was Adrien's turn after the fifth performance. He stood up and confidently made his way to the grand piano that was sitting in front of the class, the instrument that had first caught his interest upon entering the classroom. It was a square-shaped grand piano that was a rich red color that shone beautifully with all the natural lighting that was pouring in through the large windows that took up one entire wall.
The class ended on a good note and Adrien was thankful to his sisters for buying him that keyboard for his sixteenth birthday. Even if he hadn't had many opportunities to play it after he entered college. He was also thankful for the Original's memories for guiding him on what songs were currently popular in this world.
He made his way to the next class, feeling a bit better about the day. It was another music class, but this time, the class focused on the history of music.
After the class ended, Adrien made his way to the basement-level floor where all of the drawing and painting-type classes were held.
"I am Lady Nina," a tall woman wearing a revealing dress bellowed out in a strict tone upon entering. Her burgundy-colored hair was tightly bundled to the top of her head, and her almond-shaped green eyes peered at each student with a stern gaze. "Every two weeks, you will produce one painting. The subject of your first painting will be of something in this room. I will not tell you how to paint or which style to use, it will be entirely up to you as the artist. You may work on it here or on your own."
Why does this feel like a free-study class?
Adrien looked around the room. In the back of the room were wall-to-wall shelves with various items arranging from buckets with rolled-up canvases, paints, paint brushes, decorative fruit bowls, and vases with colorful flowers in them. Hanging up on the farside wall were various fabrics arranging from light to dark colors, creating a rainbow effect.
Was this room purposely decorated like this or does another class also use this room?
Adrien shook his head. He decided to use the back wall as his subject.
After figuring out what he was going to paint, he headed to the supplies to grab what he needed. He then went over to a free easel that had a wooden piece propped up on it. Taping the corners of the canvas up, he drew an outline of the back wall.
As he was doing this, the other students started grabbing their own supplies. Most of them drew an outline of what they intended to paint while a few were brave enough to paint freehanded.
Since they had two weeks to complete the project, Adrien left after completing his sketch. He had just reached the first floor when he spotted a familiar figure.
"Hello, Lady Aefre."
The gentle noble lady with a friendly air about her, turned toward Adrien. A smile graced her lips when she spotted him. "Lord Adrien! Are you finished with your classes?"
"I am. How about you, My Lady?"
Lady Aefre pouted at hearing the formal way he addressed her. "I just finished. I'm heading to the library. Would you like to join me?"
"Yes."
Adrien walked beside Lady Aefre as the two of them made their way through the pathways outside, leisurely heading toward the library. Because Lady Aefre had such a calming and cute personality, he felt relaxed when he was with her. She was also more laid back compared to what most noble ladies of her standing would have been.
"Did you receive the invite to take the History Level Advancement Test?" Lady Aefre casually asked.
"I did. I take it you did too?"
"Mhmm. I assume half of our class did. It's normal for most of the students who attend to advance out of history. Math used to be the second one that saw the most advancements until Dr. Lee took over the position four years ago."
Adrien was once again thankful to Lady Aefre. She was a well of information that freely shared her knowledge.
The two of them had just reached the library when Adrien stumbled to a stop, all of his worries from the night before flooding back.
Sitting at a table close to the entrance was Prince Mikyle. He was wearing a white and gold vest that accentuated his luscious golden hair and dazzling red eyes.
"Are you alright?" Lady Aefre asked, showing concern over Adrien's bizarre behavior.
"Y-yes." He pulled his eyes away, sending up a silent prayer hoping that the prince hadn't seen him. "Shall we go find somewhere to sit?"
Lady Aefre nodded her head slowly. Her blue eyes looked away from Adrien, following his line of sight. Her cherry-colored lips turned down in a frown when her eyes landed on Prince Mikyle. "Lord Adrien, you haven't been having any problems with Prince Mikyle, have you?"
"I-" Adrien stopped talking and swallowed the lie he was ready to spout off back down his throat. Hadn't he just been agonizing over not having anyone to talk to? But was he close enough to Lady Aefre to share his worries with her?
