Chapter 62 - Hand to Hand to Hand

It was a while before the next match could start. There was so much blood left in the ring that even after it had been mopped up the ring was dyed a yellowish red. Edgar watched as the cleaning crew left with buckets filled with bloody water. One hurdle had been taken care of. All that was left were Adira and the other. Unfortunately for him, dealing with those two was not going to be as simple as injecting them with something. He had already provided Cloud Catfish with all the information they would need to handle those two. All that was left was for them to make proper use of it.

"We apologise for the delay!" The announcer said into the mic at last. "Let's welcome our next contestants!"

The crowd began to cheer albeit half-heartedly as the next fighters made their approach to the ring. Coming alongside Adira was a tall dark-skinned man with a shaved head and a thick beard. He wore a black compression shirt, padded fingerless gloves, a loose pair of shorts and black sneakers. As he made his approach, he kept jabbing at the air and hopping from side to side, much to Adira's annoyance.

"Stop doing that," He growled.

"Why?" The taller man smirked. "Are you afraid of my sweet moves? If that's the case you'd better get a good look at 'em now before you get taken by surprise,"

"Ladies and gentlemen, we're about to bear witness to the second match of the day!" The announcer exclaimed. "In the right corner, we have a master of the first Anti Revel Art, Adira! And in the left corner, we have the notorious Unending Hand, Tolu! With our contestants rearing to go, let the match begin!"

Out of all the people Eron had asked Adira to watch out for, Tolu was the one he could recall the most about. That was only because he found out they would be meeting each other first out of all the people associated with Cloud Catfish. From what he could recall, he had a history of entering street fights and hospitalising his opponents before they succumbed to their wounds weeks later. Despite this, he had never been convicted of assault or murder, no doubt the work of his affiliations.

The thing that had interested Adira the most about him was his Revel Art; Hands to Infinity. The fact that such a ruffian had the proficiency to learn the technique was impressive enough. The question was, to what extent had he mastered it?

As if he heard this unasked question, Tolu manifested an arm. The orange spectral limb grew from his back. Hands to Infinity was a Revel Art that allowed its user to create arms imbued with a random power. At least, that was how it usually worked. Adira was aware of certain users who could cement a power into their arms to reliably call on that specific power in combat at the cost of an unlimited amount of abilities. Tolu's level of mastery would dictate whether or not he would be able to call on a specific power or a random one.

Adira cloaked himself in his Revel and charged at the taller man. The spectral arm behind Tolu opened its palm wide sending a wave of force at the bearded man. Adira was immediately sent flying backwards but he sustained no injuries. He frowned to himself. Tolu on the other hand smirked before manifesting a second orange hand. From this new hand came forth a fountain of fire. Adira punched the flame-disrupting outpour for a few seconds before more fire came his way. He jumped out of the way and ran out of the way.

Due to the information Edgar had provided him and the Catfish, Tolu was familiar with how Adira's Alteration Fist. As long as he maintained some distance between the two of them, he would not be able to disrupt his Revel Flow. To be able to maintain this advantage he had to destroy his first arm to imbue a new one with another ability, reducing the total he had access to. It did not matter though. When it came to achieving their objective, he was willing to sacrifice both his real arms.

Adira tried to close the distance between the two again only to be pushed backwards even further. He was almost sent flying out of the ring but managed to stop himself by stabbing his reinforced fingers into one of the holes Daniel had made during his fight. He pushed his fingers deeper into the ground ripping out the chunk of the floor. He charged at Tolu yet again throwing his hand to the side. Tolu smirked as he tried to push Adira back. However, before he could something came crashing into his orange hand.

The stone infused with Adira's Revel disrupted the arm's Revel Flow, ceasing its existence. Tolu raised his red arm to shoot another jet of fire but Adira had closed the gap too quickly. The bearded man's Revel roared within his fist. Just before his attack could land a fist struck him across the face. With Adira staggered, Tolu sent a burst of fire from the red arm covering the bearded man's entire body. Had it not been for his reinforcement, Adira would have been burnt to a crisp.

He quickly rushed out of the fire for safety. As he leapt into the air, he was grabbed by one of Tolu's spectral arms and punched several times with his other arms.

"Ora! Ora!! Ora!!" Tolu yelled. "Is that all you've got?!"

The dark-skinned man landed one last devastating blow by striking Adira with all hands at once. The bearded man launched several feet into the air before crashing down hard on his back. He looked up to see a new dark green arm, the one he had used to strike him with. That made three arms Tolu could manifest and he was not sure if that was all. Adira got to his feet and took a stance, ready to get back into it.
