Chapter 1 - Prologue

The start of all things is marked by the absence of everything. So too is the beginning of everything. This universe was nothing, but a void cradled in the endless embrace of absence. It is from this nothing, that the first thing sprang forth. A being who filled the abyss with itself. Upon its birth, it knew nothing but itself and found joy in that. It revelled in that joy and hence knew itself as that; Revel.

Revel was nothing short of a divinity, and it wanted others to feel joy the way it had. However, there was no one there but them, so it made them. The void became set ablaze by a sea of light and a valley of stars. The nothingness became host to a body of planets and their serenading moons. Asteroids and stardust danced through their distances and painted the space a myriad of colours. Existence was layered upon itself like a shallot, waiting to be peeled. And so, Revel did give birth to the universe.

The delight of Revel grew tenfold in his new abode, but there was still no one there to enjoy it with them. The stars could not speak, and the planets held no emotion. So, Revel filled them with life. He made creatures of all sizes and shapes. Of feathers and scales. Of wings and tails. Of flesh and bark. He made planets habitable for them and he gave them enough to last forever. And so, Revel did make life.

Finally satisfied with his creations and the joy they knew in their lives; Revel made them a vow. They promised that no matter the circumstance or condition, they would not directly interfere with the lives of their children. Their fates would be theirs to decide and control. The vow was cemented in the fabric of the universe and made law. Afterwards, Revel receded into a slumber, only dreaming of what their spawn would do with their lives.

What their children became was not what Revel could ever dream. They began to evolve, some developing alongside their environment to enhance their survivability, while others became sentient beings, thriving with the aid of one another. Once biology began to slow down to a claw, their evolution became technological. Before long, they were star farers, travelling from planet to planet, meeting with fellow sentient races and existing sometimes in harmony and others in disunity.

The First Age of Reign came, heralded by the end of the Psychic Wars, fought by the psychic-powered anomalies known as Espers and the rest of the known universe using a power unknowingly named after their god. The Second Age of Divinity came, started by the five godlike who ruled the universe with an iron fist. The Third Age of the Magnos was started by the man it was named after. Though his deeds have been forgotten in the annals of history and who he was is now just a mystery, he is hailed as one of the most influential people of the current and previous ages.

It is in this universe, on a faraway planet, that our story begins.
