It didn't take long for Li-Jie to notice the change. He found himself missing Mei-Yin's attention, the little notes, and the thoughtful gestures he had once dismissed so readily. Her absence left a void he couldn't ignore.
Hae Ra, still vying for his attention, only irritated him further. One evening, she made an excuse to visit his house, attempting to seduce him. Her blatant advances angered him. "Get out," he said coldly. "If you ever try this again, I'll have you fired."
As Hae Ra left in tears, Li-Jie felt a pang of regret. He realized how much he had taken Mei-Yin for granted.
One evening, as Li-Jie sat in his car outside a popular restaurant, he saw Mei-Yin and Wei through the large windows, laughing and enjoying their dinner. A surge of jealousy and regret washed over him. Unable to control himself, he stormed into the restaurant, his eyes fixed on Mei-Yin.
He approached their table, his presence immediately silencing the room. Without a word, he grabbed Mei-Yin's arm and pulled her towards the exit. Wei was too stunned to react, and before he knew it, Mei-Yin was being ushered into Li-Jie's car.
In the car, Mei-Yin was too shocked to speak. The silence was deafening as they drove through the city. She expected to see the familiar streets leading to his mansion, but soon she realized they were heading out of the city. Her confusion turned to anger.
