After arriving at the tent Kapel was in, Jogrin didn't wait for him to ask and began explaining. He was accompanied by Captain Ryov and Griston, as well as Naytia and Proxer.
Speaking of Proxer, he managed to catch Jogrin and the others ready to go out after he was done with his second shower of the day. After seeing Naytia's pale expression, Proxer, with no questions asked, decided to join them.
Even though Jogrin suddenly started talking about his permission, Kapel still attentively listened to what he had to say, since he knew that Jogrin wouldn't be looking for him proactively without a reason. He had an inkling that it was something urgent.
To his dismay, he was right about that.
"That's all I have to say currently. I gave you the general rundown of what had been going on-"
"You skimmed off quite a few details and steps, what exactly do you intend to do?"
Jogrin's so-called report couldn't even be called a report, it was more like a verbal memo, if anything, due to how brief it was. All Jogrin mentioned was the fact that Zanphia went out to pick up Zenover and Suzannia alone, and now they, along with Garty, were in need of help.
As Jogrin concluded his "report," Kapel interrupted him since he was suspicious of what Jogrin's true intentions were. The glare that Jogrin hadn't received from Kapel for a while came back, as the latter waited for him to reply.
"You've said this before yourself, didn't you? You've figured me out before, about what I want to do, and now I intend to act on that."
Though Jogrin's countenance remained the same, Kapel could tell that nothing could change his mind. However, as someone who was trying to conceal Jogrin's true identity to the general public, Kapel couldn't allow that.
Frankly speaking, Kapel didn't understand why Captain Ryov managed to convince him to allow Jogrin to go for an outing. His trust in Jogrin improving aside, he ought to have been more cautious about something like this. Fortunately, no one managed to unmask Jogrin's disguise, since he didn't engage with any strangers at all.
Perhaps, he did see Proxer in Jogrin, in some way.
"There is no need for you to associate yourself-"
"You can't stop me, even if you try."
A cold, standoffish gaze came from Jogrin as he turned around halfway and side-eyed Kapel. Other than Kapel, Proxer, Naytia, Captain Ryov, and Griston felt the chills as they all had their eyes widened, inadvertently taking a small step backward.
Proxer remembered how Jogrin stared down the two soldiers back in the cubicle. The current situation was like back then, except that... it felt more intense. Proxer understood that he didn't mean to intimidate the soldiers, given his background. But now, Jogrin was blatantly threatening Kapel, the Grand Commander, to bend him to his will.
Even though Jogrin didn't specify what he'd do, Proxer had a hunch that he was about to directly involve himself with whatever Zanphia and the others were going through, in a way that wasn't exactly agreeable.
"Are you threatening me, Jogrin?"
Kapel's voice was low and calm, but it still sent shivers down one's spine. No one had ever heard Kapel speaking with such a voice for a long time, even Proxer. And now, Jogrin had affronted Kapel, and Kapel wouldn't take this lying down.
"No, simply stating a mere fact."
"You have the audacity to defy me when you are still under supervision? Are you willing shatter the trust I have on you?"
"Trust means nothing in the face of protecting someone who deserves it."
"There is still a chance to retract-"
"Suzannia is now getting dragged away, are you going to keep repeating your little drivels?
"Father!!"
"Uncle Grunmyt!!"
As soon as they heard Suzannia was being treated roughly, Proxer and Naytia called out simultaneously. It was clear what they'd be saying next.
"Enough. I will personally deal with this matter. I will set out-"
"Do you really think you'll be able to catch up even with the land vehicle? While I'll get there within a second-"
"I SAID ENOUGH!!!"
Kapel was seriously infuriated, to the point that his composure broke and he yelled at Jogrin. Contrary to his voice just now, it now sounded like thunder had struck the exact tent they were in. Jogrin could perceive the Knights outside were completely blown away by Kapel's abrupt yell.
"Looks like I can't get through to you. You can proceed with whatever you were about to, and I'll be on my way."
"You are conspicuously announcing that you will be utilizing your ability, in front of me!!!"
"That I am, and it's the very ability that inflicts disgust and makes those around me vomit. And you can't stop me, no matter what."
"Captain Ryov!! Have the Knights restrain him!!"
"I-"
"Which part of "no matter what" do you not comprehend?"
Jogrin's cold gaze turned into a glare. Even Kapel was intimidated by the expression Jogrin was showing, as he flinched. He quickly followed up by gritting his teeth and slamming the table.
Ignoring Kapel, Jogrin turned the remaining halfway and walked toward the tent's exit. He passed by the remaining four people without batting them an eye, since he was bent on getting this done as soon as possible.
"Take a step out his tent, and you shall bear the consequences." Kapel's voice returned to seemingly calm, but everyone there knew he was far from being composed.
"It takes more than that to threaten someone whose home planet had been destroyed."
After he finished, Jogrin left the tent. Kapel could only watch his back he tapped his finger against the table, making loud "dud dud" noises.
"Jogrin!"
Jogrin knew that he would be called, so he stopped in his tracks before that even happened.
"Anything you want, Proxer?"
Though slightly diminished, the coldness from Jogrin's gaze was still present. He turned his head and stared into Proxer's eyes, waiting for him to answer.
"Just wait a minute! I know I can't do anything to stop you, but please at least put on the disguise!!"
"Zenover just got hurt... So be quick."
"Yes!!"
Proxer dashed at the tent for storing equipment, which was only less than 60 meters away, and quickly came back with the large backpack and a box containing the colored lenses. Jogrin accepted them with only his left arm.
"Back away now."
As Naytia, Captain Ryov, and Grsiton came out of the tent as requested by Kapel, they witnessed Proxer backing off from Jogrin as Jogrin embraced the backpack with his arm and put the box into one of the pockets of the clothes made from his "fabrication."
The reason he did so was because once he activated his powers, the Dark Matter travelling through his tail and spine would just melt away the backpack. As for the contact lenses, he just didn't like having them on, so he was simply minimizing the time he had to use these.
Jogrin walked further away from the group as Proxer joined them before coming to a stop. He turned his whole body around and gazed at them. Meanwhile, Knights started to gather around Jogrin, who was the middle of the attention now. Of course, they kept their distances.
In the next moment, the tip of his tail was enveloped in a dark glow, before the glow began to climb up his spine up to the first thoracic vertebra. While the tail and spine continued to glow, the dark glow also extended to his entire pelvis, and down both of his legs.
In the end, his tail, spine, pelvis, and legs were glowing in black. Next would come the disgust and nausea, so the Proxer, Naytia, and Captain Ryov braced themselves, while Grsiton and the other Knights were unaware of what was about to come, as Jogrin proceeded with the next action.
He levitated.
"Jogrin, please save them."
Despite Proxer's voice was soft, Jogrin could still catch what he was saying. Hence, he nodded at Proxer once.
What followed after that was Jogrin floating upwards, before an abrupt acceleration, which to Proxer and the others, looked as if Jogrin vanished into thin air.
And now, Jogrin was headed for a certain alleyway, leaving behind dozens of men who were throwing up.
