-Chapter 1-

This world is full of mysteries. Many people live in this world with hope while others live in despair. Those with hope either are born lucky either into a wealthy family or blessed with talents people only dream of. At the same time, the people who live in despair are those who were born with many unfortunate circumstances or are just the people who had hope but were hit by a cruel thing called reality. But the world isn't divided into two separate categories there are many other categories that people can be put into. It's just that hope and despair are the two major categories. The one that I fall into is neither one of the two major categories but a different one I like to call hopeless something in between hope and despair. 

When I was born into the world I had great hopes for myself. Not knowing what I wanted to do I just charged head first into all the challenges I faced. But at a young age, I was hit by the cruel truth of reality. Which was my averageness I do not excel in anything I am average down to my height and weight for males in the United States. So because of the restraints put on me by my genetics I allowed myself to be average scoring average on tests in school and making normal friends at school. 

Years go by and after graduating I work at a simple factory taking orders on metal parts from big manufacturers. My days consist of working and going home. Nothing in between that is until I came across a store selling a new type of game called a VR headset. The company is launching its first product and is collaborating with a popular game company "Ninecent" to create a new state-of-the-art virtual game called "Survivor" It seems that the company is launching a beta version while the official one is launching 30 days after the beta. What caught my eye was the slogan of escaping reality into a new adventure. 

Out of curiosity and boredom, I purchased the device and went home to try it it came with a chair that you sit on and a helmet that you wear. Sitting into the chair I first created an account and login then came the loading screen and the introduction of the game.

{One day the sky broke apart and Earth was flooded with portals through other dimensions. Beings from stories, legends, and religions crossed over. They come with one task in mind which is to take over this world and plunder the resources this world has to offer.}

{Those beings from other worlds are known well by the people of Earth one such being from a story is the "Xiao Yan" from the story Doupo Cangqiong, beings from legends such as King Arthur, and finally beings from religions such as Buddha or the God of the Bible.}

{Of course, humans don't stand a chance, so the Earth grants humans the power to change their race, and characteristics, and choose a class to major in. Of course, the choice of those comes from the dimensions that are attacking Earth.}

{Now that the Earth is in chaos and constant war the only hope of survival is to level up and gain skills to protect the Earth. To prevent the total annihilation of humans the Earth set up barriers in countries dividing the different dimensions. Some of these dimensions have made alliances due to their similarities while others have destroyed each other.}

{In only 30 days the barriers will be lifted and an all-out battle will be fought are you ready for this? Use this 30 days to prepare before the official battle and find out ways to gain strength to combat the other dimensions.}

Staring at the message that appeared after the end of the introduction I was confused as it doesn't seem a coincidence that the barriers will be removed in 30 days while the countdown for the official version of the game launches is also 30 days. Also, a more important note what should be my gamer tag?

"Mmmm, something unique it also can't be random. It has to be something that embodies me". 

"I got it let's see. Wait what happened they don't allow characters as a gamertag that's lame. I was going to do 10,000 in Roman numerals to represent me as the 10,000th player. Let's see do they allow numbers probably not".

After trying it seems that it doesn't accept numbers. It seems that I am going to have to brainstorm harder. After 10 minutes of brainstorming, I got nothing.

"Let's just go plain and simple X as in Roman numerals for 10".
