"Why do you have eyes for? When you don't even use them?!"
The ignorant maids rushed and pull away the idiot fellow servant who tripped and cut a trim from the dress maid by the finest designers from the Astorian Kingdom.
"Do I have to do everything here? Do I have to fill in for your incompetencies? Why would you hire another stupid servant? What are we paying you for? Huh, you know what? You are fired."
The headmistress could not utter another word, 'Ofcourse! If she even tried to answer me back, I'll make sure she just won't be paid. I'll even cut that tongue of her alongside with that idiot servant she hire who wouldn't make use of her eyes.'
Some says its harsh, but this is the Dukedom of Rosenfield, and I am the lone lady, Celeste Rosenfield, of this castle, no one else handles the servant's affairs but me... but also Daddy.
"I heared you fired the Headmistress." Daddy said while cutting the meat on his plate, he looks up to me waiting for an answer, "Honey, you can not fire just anyone. Headmistress Lucia has been with us ever since I was a school boy."
Before I could even answer, he already made a decision.
"I just give her a time off, for now, Sir Zeke would be acting Chief Steward, and hopefully, Celeste, you wouldn't fire him." I look at Sir Zeke who is behind me. "Yes, Daddy."
On the way to my chambers, I found Sir Zeke waiting at my bedroom's doorsteps. "Sir Zeke." He bowed and greeted me. "Were you waiting for me?"
"Lady, I am here because I bear the gathered intel I got from the Crown Prince—" I covered his mouth as quickly as I can and dragged him in my room. "You have to be careful Sir Zeke! What if Daddy hears about this?"
Sir Zeke bid his farewell and left the room. One last gaze from his white hair before he left, he is Daddy's right hand and most trust worthy attendant. He is few years older than me and came from a reputable family up in the north. He is relativelg handsome, and most maids would swoon over him and his monocles, but not me. Because I have a prince!
This envelope has all the information I need to win the Crown Prince's heart, his favorite food, color, what he do when passing time, everything!
I asked Sir Zeke a favor the moment I got engage with the Crown Prince to spy on my beloved prince.
But I shouldn't have done that. If I knew what I would discover I wouldn't have done that.
A week after, me and the Crown Prince's wedding, he called me out to meet me in the palace. I was so excited to meet him. But when I saw him, he was with another lady, the lady I am so familiar with, the lady who do not even have a title.
'Stella. The nanny of the Crown Prince. Her innocent eyes and untidy hair, her dress are always dull and dirty. Why her?!'
"Can't she leave? Didn't you call for me Your Highness, I do not understand—" He didn't even offer me to seat, the two of them are across me.
"I love her."
"Your Highness!" Stella gasped, eyes widened, and slowly she looked at me... with pity.
"But... we are engage Your Highness." I tried to keep my poise with me. "And she..."
"The wedding will continue."
"!!!"
"But as soon as we get married, I will take in Stella as my consort."
I knew Stella was and always has been in the picture, before even Sir Zeke's investigation. 'But why her?'
The next thing I knew, I was getting married, walking down the aisle to the most charming prince in the Kingdom, but somewhere in the aisle, I saw Stella. 'She's here, smiling. Why are you smiling?'
And as if I can hear her thoughts, I felt chills on my spine, 'Marry him, but I'll always have him. You'll be nothing but a display wife. An unwanted bride.'
Maybe I didn't really hear, maybe it was a prophecy given to me at that fine day at the church by God, because for the next year of my life, I was just a queen with no power, who did not bear a child for the Kingdom, because the prince didn't want me, he only visited her! And she conceived a child. I became the useless princess.
And on a rainy day, the night when Stella had given birth, I find myself drenching in blood, "What have you done?!"
The Crown Prince exclaimed.
I looked over my dress and my hands, "Why do I have a knife in my hand?"
"Wha—"
I was sentence to be hang. I do not even remember anything. But I heared the murmurs of the subjects of the kingdom.
"How could she kill the the Crown Prince's wife?"
'What are they talking about?'
"Well, we know this day will come. She has always been wicked, with her sharp tongue and power, no one can stop her.
I could not speak, for my tongue was lacerated. And I have turned blind during my trial.
"She really live up to her title didn't she?"
"What title? Lady Celeste of Rosenfield? Or Princess Celeste?"
"None. She is the Villainess of the Astoria Kingdom."
'That's right, I always have been wicked—villainous. Maybe I deserve this? Maybe I should just accept it.'
When I was being dragged to thewooden platform for a public execution, I felt the sun touching my skin.
'Huh, how long has it been? Maybe it isn't that bad to die today.'
As the executioner read my sentence, I closes my eyes and breath.
'If I get to live another life, I will make sure to live a life for me. I will be better. Better to the servants, to the subjects, to Daddy, and maybe not get married anymore.'
