Chapter 40 - The Curse of Mangog

**The Beginning**

In the ancient times of the Nine Realms, two mighty figures—Odin, the All-Father, and his Eldest son Baldur, the god of light—embarked on a quest that would echo through the ages. With their ambitions to conquer worlds, they left behind a legacy of destruction and sorrow, battling against gods, titans, and beasts. In their wake lay the remnants of countless innocent lives extinguished, their cries for vengeance weaving through the fabric of the universe. Unbeknownst to them, this collective hatred gave birth to Mangog, a monstrous entity forged from the anguish of the fallen.

As Mangog grew, so did his fury, until it culminated in an explosive attack on Asgard. The skies darkened with the fury of a thousand souls as he descended upon the shining city. Odin and Baldur, alongside their beloved sister Sitonai, stood firm against the onslaught. The battle raged, echoing with the clash of steel and the cries of the damned. But as the dust settled, victory came at a horrendous price—Mangog's final blow claimed the life of Sitonai, leaving Baldur shattered in despair.

As Mangog lay defeated, his last words were a curse, sealing the fate of Odin's bloodline: "When your children awaken their divine powers, they will be corrupted, driven to kill, and Asgard shall know destruction."

"Haha, I will come back again to see the destruction with myself"

Years turned to centuries as Baldur roamed the cosmos, seeking a way to lift the curse that clung to his family like a shroud. The weight of Sitonai's death bore heavily upon him, each step a reminder of his failure. His heart ached not only for her loss but for the dark path he felt creeping upon him. Shadows whispered in the recesses of his mind, igniting a thirst for power he struggled to suppress.

The universe expanded around him, yet Baldur felt smaller than ever. No matter where he ventured, he sensed the curse pulsing beneath the surface, twisting his thoughts and distorting his desires. Desperation gripped him as he sought redemption, praying for a way to purify himself and protect his siblings from the inevitable darkness.

Meanwhile, in the realm of Asgard, Hela was born and emerged into a world she would never know. Born to Odin, her destiny was marred by the shadows of his cold decisions. He took her freedom and her favourite pet. With each passing year, her powers began to awaken, but so did the insidious influence of the curse. Odin's heavy-handedness only deepened her resentment, driving her further from the warmth of familial love.

As Hela grew, the tension between her and Odin escalated, culminating in the Great War against the giants. Tasked with leading the Valkyries into battle, Hela found herself engulfed in a bloodlust she could not control. The chaotic rush of power turned her into a fearsome warrior, and the lines between friend and foe blurred. In a tragic twist of fate, she turned her wrath against her own, slaying Asgardian soldiers and Valkyries alike.

Seeing the devastation she wrought, Odin, desperate to contain the spreading curse, imprisoned Hela in her own realm, fearing she would turn on her siblings. The walls of her prison echoed with her anguish, further fracturing Odin's family and setting the stage for future tragedies.

After eons of wandering, Baldur returned to Asgard, his heart heavy with dread. He sensed the darkness that had taken root in Hela, only to find her locked away in a prison of her own making. Fury ignited within him, a tempest fueled by the guilt of his failure. How could Odin condemn her so? How could he let the curse fester unchecked?

"Father!" Baldur's voice thundered through the halls of Asgard, reverberating off the marble walls. "This is your doing! You've let her suffer for too long!"

Odin, torn between love for his son and the need to protect the realm, met Baldur's gaze with deep sorrow. "I did this to save her, to save you all," he replied, his voice heavy with regret. "The curse—"

"Is your fault!" Baldur roared, striking the ground with his fist, the force reverberating through the air. "You let this happen, and now you imprison her? Is this how you show your love?"

In that moment, the rage that had simmered for centuries erupted, and Baldur attacked. But as he faced his father, he couldn't bring himself to strike the killing blow. Love still lingered in his heart, mixed with a sorrow that would not be sated.

Instead of ending Baldur's life, Odin chose the painful path of imprisonment, locking his eldest son away in the depths of Asgard. "You must fight this curse, my son," Odin declared, his voice laced with sorrow. "In isolation, you may yet find the strength to resist."

But Baldur knew, deep down, that the curse was inescapable. He closed his eyes, shutting out the world around him, praying that Thor and Loki would remain untouched by the darkness that threatened to consume them all. In the silence of his cell, he mourned for his lost siblings and the family that had shattered around him, resigned to a fate he could not change.

As Baldur lingered in his prison, he contemplated the curse that loomed over Asgard like a storm cloud, awaiting its time to strike. The echoes of his family's anguish reverberated through the halls, a constant reminder of their shared suffering. And somewhere in the darkness, Mangog laughed, relishing the devastation he had wrought and recovering himself to appear again to destroy Asgard.

As Baldur languished in his prison, a new life stirred within the halls of The Asgard, Frigga, goddess of marriage, carried within her the future of the realm—a child destined for greatness. Thor, the God of Thunder, was conceived in a moment of passion that offered a glimpse of hope amidst the gathering darkness. Yet, unbeknownst to Frigga, Odin's past weighed heavily upon this new life, tainted by the curse that loomed over his family.

Desperate to secure peace in the Nine Realms and to shield his children from the corruption that had marred his bloodline, Odin sought an alliance with the giants. He wed a giantess, a princess of formidable strength, believing that their union would bring balance and prosperity. But tragedy struck when she died during childbirth, leaving Loki, the God of Mischief, in her wake.

In the face of overwhelming grief, Odin made a fateful decision. He cast a spell to erase all memory of his marriage to the giantess from the minds of the Asgardians. The history of their union, the sorrow of her death, and the existence of Loki were buried beneath a veil of deception. Instead, Loki was presented as the younger brother of Thor, a son born of Frigga—a falsehood that would shape the destiny of the realm. Frigga took loki as her own son dispute knowing the truth.

Odin believed that by shielding his younger children from the truth, he could prevent the curse from claiming them as it had claimed Baldur and Hela. Yet, in doing so, he sowed the seeds of betrayal among the giants, who felt betrayed by Odin's actions. Whispers of vengeance spread through their ranks, igniting a fire that would soon burn through the Nine Realms once more.

News of Odin's deceit reached the giants, igniting their fury. They felt robbed of their rightful lineage, their trust shattered by the All-Father's manipulation. Among them, a faction emerged, vowing to avenge their fallen princess and reclaim what they believed was rightfully theirs. They would rise against Odin, believing that the curse of Mangog was a mere precursor to the calamity that awaited Asgard.

They Wanted to make Loki as Asgard Ture King.

Back in his prison, Baldur remained unaware of the brewing storm. His thoughts were consumed by guilt and sorrow, lamenting the fate of his siblings. He longed for the day he could meet Thor and Loki, to protect them from the darkness that haunted their lineage. But the walls of his cell echoed with the past—a past he could not escape.

Frigga, meanwhile, raised Thor and Loki with hopes and dreams, unaware of the shadows that loomed over their family. As the young gods grew, so too did Odin's anxieties. He watched with a heavy heart, fearing that the cycle of violence and betrayal would repeat itself. The weight of his decisions pressed down upon him, the consequences of his actions ever looming.

As the giants plotted their revenge, Odin's carefully constructed facade began to crack. The curse of Mangog loomed like a dark cloud, threatening to consume everything he held dear. With Baldur imprisoned, Hela in chains, and Loki's true heritage hidden from the world, Odin realized that the threads of fate were unraveling, and the tapestry of Asgard was poised on the brink of destruction.

The day would come when the past could no longer be buried, when the truth would rise to challenge the foundations of the realm. And in that moment, the curse would not just be a haunting memory but a living force—one that could destroy all that Odin had sought to protect.

(Present,)

Thor and Loki stood side by side, feeling the pull of their divine powers coursing through them as they prepared to return home with their newfound family, Sigurd, and Brynhildr. Ritsuka, Artoria Lancer, Rama, Sita had gathered alongside them, offering their farewells as the group prepared for their next journey to Asgard.

But then, a sinister light beamed down from the sky. The air grew thick with an oppressive force, choking the atmosphere with malice.

Loki squinted toward the Bifrost as it shimmered in front of them. "Is it just me, or is that monster radiating killing intent? And specifically towards us, brother."

Thor, already gripping Mjolnir tightly, glared at the figure emerging from the portal. "You are right, Loki. Whoever this is, they come with ill intent. This must be a creature sent by our enemies. But we'll face it together."

The towering figure stepped forward from the portal, the ominous glow of the **Destroyer armor** radiating from his every step. His face was obscured by the black metal, his presence twisted and overwhelming. The cursed energy flowed from him like a dark wave.

Ritsuka acted quickly, raising his hand and summoning his telekinesis. He lifted the workers, Erik's group, and Thor's friends into the air and teleported them far from the impending battle. He then reinforced the town with a strong magical barrier, ensuring no civilians would get caught in the clash.

Rama, standing close by, readied his blade. His divine senses picked up the danger. "Do you know anything about this cursed creature, Loki?"

Loki's expression tightened, his eyes narrowing as he studied the figure. There was something... almost familiar. "Not an enemy we've seen before. But..." His voice trailed off as the glint of the armor came into full view. His breath hitched in his throat. "No... that's the Destroyer armor."

The revelation hit like a lightning bolt. Even Thor stiffened, his eyes widening in disbelief.

Thor, gripping Mjolnir even harder, muttered, "The Destroyer armor... but why? Who could control it now? This is worse than we thought."

Ritsuka, having finished securing the town, stepped forward, taking charge of the situation. His eyes were focused, his tone sharp. "With that curse, the Destroyer armor has become even stronger than before. It's not just an enchanted weapon anymore—it's a twisted, cursed beast of its own."

Artoria Lancer stood beside him, her radiant spear ready. Her eyes locked onto the cursed figure. "We need to stop this creature now. The longer the curse festers, the more powerful it becomes. And it's clearly targeting Thor and Loki—ready to kill them at any moment."

Loki was cursed his luck. Now he is going to face a disaster when he changed to become better person.
