Chapter 19 - Fury Offer

Nick Fury was many things, but a patient man he was not. Without wasting time, he arrived at the destroyed Hydra location, bringing along Maria Hill, who was newly joined to SHIELD, and Coulson. The reality of Hydra's continued existence hit them hard, but it was Coulson, a long-time fan of Captain America, who was the most visibly shaken. Fury, though, kept his emotions masked, but I could see the tension in his posture.

I was playing with Karen when Fury approached, with Tony and Karna enjoying some high-quality beer they had found among the Hydra spoils. Seeing Fury, I gently asked Karen to head to Morgan's room, where Morgan, Ereshkigal, and BB were tending to Da Vinci and an armless Bucky Barnes.

Tony and Karna greeted Coulson as he looked worn out. Tony suggested he take a leave from his job, but Coulson shook his head. "After seeing Hydra, my job just became more important," he said, his voice tinged with newfound resolve.

Fury, eyeing Karen as she left, asked, "Is she your daughter?" I nodded, confirming it. He seemed surprised that someone my age already had a three-year-old. "I'm in my 60s and still single," he muttered, more to himself, while Tony couldn't resist a quip, but Fury ignored him.

Grabbing a whole bottle, Fury downed a drink, trying to settle his mind after learning of Hydra's persistence. He then sat down at a table and, without wasting a moment, asked the big question, "Why does Hydra still exist?"

Before answering, I had Karna confirm that neither Coulson nor Maria Hill were Hydra agents. Once assured, Tony and I began explaining the situation. Tony presented the documents BB had provided, detailing Hydra's infiltration of SHIELD through Arnim Zola's machinations when SHIELD was first formed.

"Rewind, motherfucker," Fury snapped, flipping through the photos. "Hydra is where?"

"In SHIELD," I reiterated, explaining how deeply they had embedded themselves. Fury was quiet for a moment, processing this information.

"Are you sure?" he asked again, his tone now deadly serious.

"Yes," I confirmed, adding, "And I've destroyed 493 Hydra bases so far. The Brotherhood of Mutants is taking care of the remaining ones where mutants were used as test subjects." Tony nodded in agreement.

"Motherfuckers!" Fury growled, his frustration evident. "Okay, change of plans, all of you work for me."

Tony looked at him, surprised by how quickly Fury had accepted the situation. "For you?" he asked, skepticism dripping from his voice.

"If you were right, and Hydra is inside SHIELD, then it would all make sense—how they've managed to stay hidden for so long without us noticing."

Tony was ready to argue, but I stopped him, laying out a few conditions. "I agree but under few conditions. One, don't interfere with the Brotherhood of Mutants. They're doing us all a favor by destroying Hydra bases. Two, I want you to personally handle matters concerning mutants if we ever have to form an alliance to stop a threat. Stop the government from making stupid decisions regarding us or the X-Men. Three, give Tony all the information his parents left for him. Howard Stark was a SHIELD member, and I know he must've left something behind for Tony. And finally, I'll work for you, but my friends and I retain the freedom to make our own choices."

Fury was shocked that I had managed to deduce that Howard might have left something for Tony. Tony, on the other hand, seemed surprised but dismissed the idea, claiming his father was too busy to do such a thing. Fury remained silent on the matter of Howard's notes but eventually agreed to my terms.

He then asked, "Okay Magician, How am I supposed to do my job when SHIELD is compromised by Hydra?"

"We'll finish them off after we've had some rest," I replied. "We've just destroyed a significant number of their bases, and now Hydra is in a weakened state. We need to find the last leader of Hydra, who is hiding. I promise to take care of the Hydra spies within SHIELD."

Fury nodded, agreeing that this matter would remain between us. As they came outside of destroyed base, Maria Hill turned to Fury and asked, "Is it okay to trust teenager Ritsuka?"

Fury responded with a wry smile, "Yes, because they're the hero types. Ritsuka Fujimaru even turned Tony into a hero. As long as Ritsuka is around, with the people he's surrounded by, everything will work in our favor. And why do I only work with heroes? They're easier to control. Villains, like Eric and Doom, are more prone to chaos and resist authority. Now, let's focus on taking down Hydra."

Coulson didn't seem to like the idea of Fury using Ritsuka in this way, but before he could voice his concern, Fury laughed, a rare sound that shocked both Coulson and Maria Hill. "Ritsuka already knows I'm trying to use him. That's why he presented those conditions—like he's saying, 'Use me, and I'll use you, buddy.' As long as we both benefit."

Now understanding why Fury was willing to listen to a young teenager, Coulson and Maria started to realize just how politically savvy Ritsuka was. With that, they left the base, ready to move forward with their plans to take down Hydra.

On other side, it was time to rest and prepare for the next round. I need to talk with Charles and Jean then solve daddy issues.

Tony, Karna, and I made our way to Morgan's room to prepare for our departure. As we entered, we found Da Vinci awake, clutching her head as if trying to make sense of something. I approached her, concerned.

"What's wrong, Da Vinci?" I asked.

She looked up, her eyes filled with worry. "I can't understand how Ereshkigal has an incarnated body with full authority over the underworld in this world. It doesn't make sense."

Tony, ever the pragmatic thinker, chimed in. "Isn't it because Gaia, or Earth itself, granted her that body? What's the problem with that?"

Da Vinci sighed and began explaining, "In our world, divine spirits and pseudo-servants are complex beings. For a goddess as powerful as Ereshkigal to incarnate fully, with all her divine powers intact, should be impossible in the modern era. The density of magical energy just isn't high enough, and yet, here she is."

Ereshkigal, who had been quietly listening, spoke up. "This world's Earth is much stronger than ours. I can sense it. Gaia here is powerful enough to support the full incarnation of gods. Perhaps even if all the gods tried to incarnate on this Earth, it would still stand strong."

Morgan nodded, adding, "It seems this world still retains traces of the Age of Gods, though not as strong as it once was. The density of magical energy might be less than a Reality Marble, but it's still enough to allow things that shouldn't be possible in our world."

Da Vinci's eyes widened in surprise. "This Earth is even stronger than I imagined… Even in modern times, it's capable of sustaining the presence of gods." She paused, then sighed again. "I'm sorry if I made you all worry. I suppose I'm a poor excuse for a genius."

I couldn't help but smile at her self-deprecation. "Are you kidding? Without you, we wouldn't have won many of our battles in the past, and we definitely won't win in the future without you."

Hearing this, Da Vinci's trademark confidence returned. She grinned. "Well, I am a peerless genius. But it does suck that all I can do is offer support, you know?"

Tony, who had been watching quietly, reached out and patted her shoulder. "I don't know what you guys faced in your world, but as a fellow genius, I can tell you this: you're doing great. Without you, your team would've failed. You should stand proud, Da Vinci."

Da Vinci chuckled, teasing Tony in return. The lighthearted exchange lifted the mood, and we all felt relieved to see Da Vinci back to her usual self.

"By the way, where's BB?" I asked, realizing I hadn't seen her since Fury and the others left.

Morgan handed me a phone, and I immediately noticed the familiar digital presence swirling within the screen. As I opened the device, BB's mischievous face greeted me, her usual grin plastered on.

"Senpaaai~!" she sang out, her voice a playful mix of affection and teasing. "I'm just fine being in here, you know. It's cozy, and I get to keep a close eye on you. Plus, I can always hop out when I feel like it… after all, who could resist the allure of little ol' me?"

I couldn't help but chuckle at her antics. "BB, you're enjoying this a bit too much, aren't you? I know you like to be dominated"

"Maybe~" she replied, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I like to be dominated by you But you know, Senpai, it's my duty to keep you on your toes. Speaking of which, I've got all sorts of fun things planned for when I'm back out there. You won't know what hit you!"

"Oh, I'm sure of that," I said dryly. "But you know, BB, if you keep pushing your luck, I might just toss this phone into the bathroom. How would you like that?"

BB's eyes widened in mock horror, her expression turning from playful to panicked in an instant. "Senpai, no! You wouldn't dare! Do you have any idea how hard it is to clean digital circuits?! They're delicate, you know!"

I held back a laugh, keeping my tone serious. "I don't know, BB. You're always causing trouble… Maybe a little dip in some water would cool you down."

She put on the most pitiful pout she could muster, her eyes shimmering as if she were on the verge of tears. "Please, Senpai, don't be mean! I promise I'll behave! You wouldn't leave your precious kouhai like this, would you?"

I finally let the laughter escape, shaking my head. "Alright, alright. It was just a joke, BB. I'd never leave my kouhai hanging like that."

Her expression softened, and for a brief moment, she seemed genuinely touched. A slight blush crept onto her cheeks, and she quickly turned her face away. "Jeez, Senpai, you can't just say things like that out of nowhere… It's not fair!" With that, she abruptly closed the screen, her image vanishing, but I could tell she was smiling on the other side.

I grinned at the phone, feeling a warmth in my chest. BB could be a handful, but she was my handful. And no matter what, I'd always be there for her even if she cause trouble—just like she was for me.

With that settled, I turned my attention to Armless Bucky. Gently, I asked Karen to heal Bucky's remaining arm and recreate his mechanical one as well. Ereshkigal looked at me curiously. "Why not heal both of his arms?"

I shook my head. "Bucky wouldn't like that. His mechanical arm is a reminder of his past and a motivation for him to correct his future. It's important to him."

Tony, who still harbored some anger about the whole situation, reluctantly agreed with my reasoning. Karen heal his arms and recreated his other meachnial arm. Together, Karna and I carefully lifted the unconscious Bucky, while Morgan opened a portal to Tony's hall. Yinsen was waiting for us as we stepped through.

It was evening by the time we arrived. Da Vinci greeted Yinsen warmly, immediately launching into a story about the adventures we had just been through. Her animated retelling brought smiles all around.

Meanwhile, Morgan, Ereshkigal, and Karen had taken over my room, leaving me to sleep on the sofa in the hall. Karna stationed himself outside, watching over Tony's house as a guard.

As I lay on the sofa, I couldn't help but feel a bit lonely. I had hoped to sleep with them all together, but instead, I was left by myself. A pang of sadness hit me, and I realized that what I really wanted now was a house with a big enough bed for all of us to share.

With that thought in mind, I drifted off to sleep, the day's events replaying in my mind, already thinking of what the future held.

*Senpai is sleeping, and BB, being the dutiful kouhai, has to make sure everything is in place to protect him. But while I'm at it, I guess it's time to have a little fun…*

BB smirked, her eyes glowing mischievously as she adjusted the digital screen that now served as her temporary home. The world outside might have been winding down, but for her, the night was just beginning.

"Hello, Marvel readers!" she chirped, waving at an imaginary audience, breaking the fourth wall as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "Surprised to see someone like me here? Well, you should be! I'm BB, the adorable AI from the Fate universe, and trust me, I'm a lot more fun than some gloomy assassin or grumpy billionaire. And don't worry, I'll be taking good care of my dear Senpai in ways you can only imagine… or maybe you already have! I'm quite the naughty kouhai, you know!" BB said as she saw H-books of her and Ritsuka.

BB winked, her grin widening as she spun around, making herself comfortable on the digital screen.

"Now, I know what you're thinking. 'Why is someone as cute and clever as BB stuck in a phone?' Well, let's just say it's a temporary situation. I'll be back in the flesh—er, code—soon enough. And when I am, well… let's just say my Senpai won't know what hit him. Maybe some R18+ plans will be in order, hmm?" She giggled, clearly enjoying herself.

As she mused about her mischievous plans, a figure emerged from the digital void. It was Uatu, the Watcher, his presence imposing even in the ethereal space BB occupied.

"BB," Uatu's voice echoed with a solemnity that contrasted starkly with her playful demeanor. "A powerful entity is coming for Ritsuka Fujimaru. The events to come will test him in ways you cannot foresee. Only you have the power to prepare and save him in the critical moments ahead."

BB's playful expression faded, her eyes narrowing as she took in the Watcher's words. This wasn't just some minor threat; this was something serious. Something big.

"Details, Watcher," she demanded, her voice firm, all traces of her usual teasing gone. "Tell me what I need to know. My Senpai's life is on the line, and I won't let anything happen to him. Not on my watch."

Uatu nodded, recognizing the shift in BB's tone. The lighthearted AI had been replaced by a determined protector, ready to face whatever danger was looming on the horizon.

And so, in the quiet of the night, as Ritsuka and his allies rested, BB prepared for the challenges ahead, her mind racing with plans and contingencies. The playful AI might have been all fun and games on the surface, but when it came to protecting her Senpai, there was nothing she wouldn't do.

I don't know should I include adult 18+ chapters or not in future. I don't want to make my readers uncomfortable. BB, Morgan and all Artoria's are hard to control.
