Chapter 7: Sweet Surprises
As they walked to their next class, Jake took James' hand, sending a thrill through his body. It was a small gesture, but it felt like a big deal to James.
"I can't believe how happy I am," James said, looking up at Jake.
Jake smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I know exactly what you mean," he said. "I feel like I've found my missing piece."
James' heart skipped a beat at the romantic words. He felt like he was melting into Jake's gaze.
When they reached their classroom, Jake pulled James aside for a quick kiss before the bell rang. James felt like he was floating on air, his heart soaring with joy.
The rest of the day was a blur of classes and daydreams, with James constantly thinking about Jake and their blossoming relationship.
As they walked home from school, Jake turned to James with a mischievous grin. "Want to come over for dinner tonight? My mom's cooking up something special."
James' heart skipped a beat at the invitation. He couldn't wait to spend more time with Jake and meet his mom.
"Definitely," James said, smiling up at Jake. "I'd love to."
