Kairi closed his eyes, relaxed his mind, ridding himself of any meddling and unwanted thoughts, he steadied his breath, and allowed his mind to be cloaked and covered by his imagination.
In his plain of imagination, he fostered a body for himself, he then began visualizing a wooden door, a dusty and unstable door, much like the one in the Orphanage, a past tie he wasn't able to cut, he placed his palm on the door, feeling a cold sensation smoothing through his fingertips.
He then pulled open the door, and opened his eyes. A dark peculiar star-shaped mark on his neck, began to light up in bright luminance, like a ray of light reflected from the sun.
Following in response, a cloak of luminance wrapped around his entire being, a body of light enveloped, and a strange feeling shot through his vessel, a feeling of elation; an almost addictive feeling.
His mind was relaxed, and his tired body felt elated, almost as if every bit of tiredness and exhaust was blotted out, as if he was given a shot of adrenaline, but he knew that this was not his body, it was his Soul.
It felt like he was given a perfect vessel, not bound by human limitations and standards, like he was extolled above the physical realm, belonging in one of his own.
With nourishing feeling shooting through his vessel, he looked forward, the vestiges of humanity that covered his eyes were removed. He saw with new sight; a world that was essentially the same but much more distressed than usually.
Besides the stretching arches of sand, cacti, and stable a few distances away, much more, which was apparent, now became apparent to him. He had now seen the unseen.
As he looked forward, the world around him looked different, as if the entire world itself was tossed into a fish-tank, the world was dim, it was as if he were swallowed in by the ocean, he saw light but also traces of darkness, and strange peculiar translucent wave-like phenomenon moved and smeared itself across the horizon, continually without end.
As he looked to the air, a weird mist-like bright phenomenon swam through the air, like a drop of blood in water it spreaded further and further. What's this?
As he stood in between existing in the Physical Realm and the Spiritual realm, he felt as if he were being constantly monitored by something; not just one thing but an accumulation of beings. He felt alerted, feeling overwhelmed by the unfamiliarity of the Spiritual Plane.
He turned to Huweyn, who stood silently,"Huweyn?"
Though he spoke, he felt as if his words were drowned out by water, as if they were snatched away before they reached Huweyn's ear.
But as he glanced at Huweyn, he noticed something, he sensed a faint trace of emotion, one fueled by determination. He walked past Huweyn, whose eyes followed him as he moved, as he was able to see him, the luminance enveloping him, but not hear him.
As he walked past Huweyn, he saw something strange, like a reminiscence of Huweyn's soul, an aura that marked the outline of his vessel. He brought his luminant palm to it, and touched it, but as he did, he felt as if he touched nothing.
It was then, as he stood next to it, something was shot into him, like a realization or thought that was not his was shot into his mind. He felt and experienced Huweyn's determination, he felt his intensity of focus, his determination to not disappoint Kairi.
I felt Huweyn. Kairi was flabbergasted, I felt his emotions—So this is a Soul Echo. He thought.
With his mind being so focused on what was around him, he failed to notice something that was plain in sight, the difference between his first time in the state of Soul Lapsing, and this time. The fact that he could see things that he didn't see before ran straight over his head.
And the fact that the duration that it took him to enter Soul Lapsing was massively different, he had gotten better; he was starting to adapt quickly.
He closed his eyes, visualizing the door again, this time it was opened; then he grabbed the door knob, and closed it. As he opened his eyes, he was revealed once more to the downpour of Eos, to the bright blue horizon; to the heated atmosphere.
"I saw you move past me, did you come into contact with my Soul Echo?" Huweyn then questioned.
"I did… So that's what a Soul Echo is? A remnant of the Soul."
"Right. You did good, your focus was impeccable, I must confess." Huweyn remarked, with a proud smile.
"Huweyn."
"Hmm? What is it?"
Kairi then dwelled back on what he saw, squeezing out every detail to Huweyn,"When I was Soul Lapsing, I saw things I didn't notice before, there were weird mist-like phenomenon swimming through the air, and it felt as if I were placed in a tank of water; Not only that but I felt like I was being constantly stared at, stares of curiosity and malicious intent."
"I see." Folding his arms,"Well you see, if you didn't notice those things before then that means that your Soul Focus has improved, that you're grasping something about your Essence." He then frowned,"Those supernatural beings you saw… They're actually souls. They are what we call Wanderers."
"You mentioned that term before—What does it mean? How are they souls?"
"Wanderers are those that died with regret, contempt, those who refuse to cut their attachment to the Living World, refusing to accept their passing they look for bodies to possess or just roam through the Spiritual realm not wanting to pass on." Huweyn explained, the topic visibly bothering him as his expression furthered more into one of contempt.
"They possess bodies?"
"Only vulnerable ones without much soul, or ones that are unprotected, like ones that are in a state of Soul Projection, which is when the soul is separated from the body usually for information gathering or undercover investigations." Stroking his brows in distress,"Some of us Transcenders, The Necroplasts, for a hefty sum by a person of high status, legally attach the souls of Wanderers to bodies that have fragmented or eternally separated souls."
"Legally?" Kairi questioned."How's that legal, besides, aren't Transcenders supposed to be noble? Isn't that just pushing human boundaries?"
"Listen here, I also agree with you, and I do despise the whole concept, but if it's legal then it's just another job. You'll soon find that Transcenders are not what you thought we are, nobility and chivalry are all just a child's interpretation of us." Huweyn expressed, with a melancholy look in his eyes, a frown on his face.
"I understand, everything is all so gray."
"You're right. Morals and feelings are all subjective and based on personal experiences and values, what is right, what is wrong, it's all what you make of it as an individual, Kairi. I've long accepted things for what they are." Huweyn remarked.
Now knowing what is Necroplast is, He thought, If Necroplasts are one of the classes of Transcension, I wonder how many many more classes there are—I wonder if they're all just as morally gray as Necroplasts.
