POV: Bash
Location: Southern Empire
"SWORD ART TECHNIQUE, THUNDER CLAP," her voice roared.
In a straight blue lightning line, Delta bolted upwards her body reaching the location of Kowoske. Using the momentum gathered in her sword, she slashed a vertical strike at him.
Blocking it made no difference to him because the impact wave alone sent him flying up into the sky, his body pushed out of the four-hundred-meter tower.
With his mist arcs stopped, I pulled my body to the left wall and landed twenty meters high, I pulled it again to the right wall, standing vertically on it at forty meters high.
Just like that, in an instant, I used several positive pulls traveling in a zig-zag until I reached the top of the tower.
Kowoske's body was still flying in the air above the tower from Delta's blow.
"BATTLE ARTS. DESTRUCTIVE TOUCH." I yelled.
The air over a hundred meters above Kowoske's flying body hardened, my body was instantly pulled to it and I stood upside down, my eyes fixed on Kowoske's body below me.
"SWORD ART TECHNIQUE, 500 POUNDS," I yelled.
Pressing my butt against my ankles, I sprinted downwards, my sword moving in an arc towards Kowoske.
His white sword narrowly caught the forward slash I stroked him with. However, his body floating over four hundred meters above ground was sent back crashing downwards, waves of humid air created a soothing sound as he crashed downwards.
Bammm....
Kowoske's body slammed into the floor of the throne room. Delta was standing above ground on the side of a crumbled wall, my feet were still upside down, looking towards the ground to the now dust-filled chamber.
Over a minute after Kowoske's hard landing, no noise came out of the ground level, the dust had settled and Kowoske was lying flat on the ground, his sword still gripping his fingers.
I yelled downwards to Delta standing on the edge of a crumbled wall, "Don't let your guard down."
"I know," she replied, her lungs expanding and retracting as she gasped for air.
My black hair was dangling downwards like a low-hanging fruit, the moonlight backing my black cloak.
Without warning mist, just started to form on the ground surface, it covered the entire throne room hiding Kowoske's body completely from us.
"Got you!" Delta said, her voice being carried out through the wide tube.
She pointed her swords to the mist below us, the moonlight coming from the crumbled wall highlighted her entire body. "SWORD ART TECHNIQUE, LIGHTENING BALL."
A blue and white lightning ball formed on the tip of Delta's sword, it grew big the size of a watermelon.
In an instant, it traveled to the ground level through a zig-zag route. Making the entire mist cloud glow blue light.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhr," Kowoske's voice wailed, his screams shaking the entire tower.
A moment of silence returned with the mist still lingering on the ground surface.
"Bash, let's check, I think Kowoske probably pass out from that shock wave," she said. her eyes looking upwards in my direction.
"let's wait a little," I replied, my voice traveling a long distance to meet her ears.
"The more we wait the more chances of him recovering from the shock," she spluttered, her mouth still gasping for air.
"Oka—,"
"Fushhhhhhh,"
The mist resting below us suddenly blew upwards, it caught unsuspecting Delta by surprise, blowing her upwards with every inch of the tube the mist passed through being filled with white clouds.
She traveled over three hundred meters in the air, her body leaving the tip of the tower containing a lot of momentum.
"POSITIVE," I directed my left palm to her. She got pulled towards me and then landed upside down on the condensed air membrane, her body slamming into it over five meters from me.
Below us, Kowoske emerged from the tower covered entirely with mist, his body came out like an air bubble coming out of water.
Standing in the middle of the round tube circling the tip of the tower. Kowoske's shirt was gone, he was standing four hundred feet above ground level on white clouds, holding a white sword with one hand and his long white hair resting on his back.
The moonlight perfectly highlighted the eight abs growing out of his chest, his muscular arms pulsing with anger.
"How dare you defy me!" his crystal clear voice said, his right arm pointing his sword into the sky, to us.
"For a decade I searched for the Shinzin Ritta, when I finally found it, you dared to stand between us, unforgivable," he said, the veins sticking out of his forehead violently pulsing.
"The white army decreed for the black sword to be retrieved," Delta said, her long blonde hair dangling from the back of her ears.
"Orders are absolute, I cannot afford to let you have that sword."
From the corners of my eye, I could see Delta breathing heavily, clearly showing how tired she was.
She was standing her ground for the other girls, she knew if the news of the sword being stolen got to the white army, they would be punished.
A death penalty to a descendant of a witch is not out of the option if it pleases the nobles.
"Kowoske," my voice called out to him, "you don't look like a bastard, your attire resembles that of the novelty, why act in a manner any scumbag roaming around the empire would?"
"Novelty?" he said, his eyes now looking straight into my face.
"The house of Limah is looked down on because of our low rank," he lowered his sword to the white cloud below him, "imagine what would happen if we came into possession of the Shinzin Ritta. The whole empire would look up to us."
He raised his left hand vertically upwards, gesturing a vertically upward moving line. "The emperor would raise our rank, we would become a high-ranking novel family."
"So that's your reason," I said, my black eyes glued to his. "I am sorry but your wish would not be fulfilled today. I was paid to protect the lady standing next to me," I pointed my silver blade to Delta, "You would not be able to lay a finger on her."
