POV: Ash
Location: Northern Empire
After walking thirty minutes into the forest of the fireflies, I was able to find a narrow river, there, I rested on the back of a huge tree. The moonlight could hardly pass through the wide leaves of the tree, leaving me in darkness except for the fireflies rooming around me.
My body was soaked in the blood of all the people I had subconsciously murdered. I couldn't let anyone in the village see my blood-soaked clothing or else they would know I was responsible for the massacre in the tiny bar.
With my bones itching from all angles, I rested my back on the tall tree, my legs were spread in the grass and my hat was resting beside me.
Even though everything that happened so far irritated me, the slightly chilly wind blowing in the forest comforted me. Before I realized it, I was dozing off and my eyes began to feel heavy.
I wanted to sleep, however, I forced myself to get up and strip naked, taking everything off including my underwear. I walked down to the narrow river in front of me—squatting down just before my feat could step into the slow flowing river.
I only have three change of clothing, an ash dress, a white dress and a black dress. I cannot afford to loose my ash dress to the dark blood stain. Using both of my hands, I pushed my blood stained dress into the flowing river, I watched as the river slowly dyed itself red from the blood stains.
I held the dress for ten minutes in the cold river. After that, I squeezed and spread it several times until all the blood stains were gone. I did the same thing to my underwear and my ash hat.
My exposed skin turned the nice breeze into a cold shower, making me shiver as I returned to the site of the tree.
I then spread my washed clothing on the long weird plants surrounding the huge tree. Each plant look like a strangle insect in the shape of a vine. The lower body is light green while the top have a pinkish flower blooming in the direction of the moon.
A nest of fire flies sprung up and spread like a school of fish when I placed my washed clothing on the plants, I felt bad for waking the fire flies from there quiet slumber.
With my clothing washed and spread on the plants, I walked back to the river through a swarm of yellow glowing lights coming out of the fire flies.
As I got to the river, a shock wave went through my body as I imagine how cold it will feel to sink my entire body in the river. Then, I remembered that my mana have been refilled completely after performing the blood ritual.
A grin went across my face as I cleared my voice ready to cast a spell. I took five steps backward and then stared directly into the cold flowing river.
"BOOK OF SPELLS, I COMMAND YOU TO COME FORWARD," I whimpered into the night.
From the thin air, a dark gray grimore with chains wrapping it in all directions came forward. It levitated in front of me waiting for my command.
"HELLSCAPE, ROARING FLAMES," I chanted.
Seconds later, the earth below the center of the river began to shake and vibrate.
In a split second explosion, an orange flame bursted with a bang. The impact it left at the center of the river created a small round hole.
I was showered with insanely hot water from the impact of the explosion. The sight of the river in front of me emptied out before being replace by the flowing waters.
My little trick worked, I was able to heat up the rocks below the river, creating a tiny hot bath in the middle of a forest.
Excitement filled me as I took my first step into the river, the water level reached only to my chest, exposing fifty percent of my breast to the cold wind.
