Chapter 6: A Desperate Move
Amaka and Nneoma huddled in secret, their minds racing with a new plan. They knew they had to act fast, before Amaka's father's anger boiled over.
"We need to get you out of here, now," Nneoma whispered urgently.
Amaka nodded, her heart pounding. "But how? He's watching my every move."
Nneoma's eyes sparkled with determination. "Leave that to me. I'll create a distraction while you make a run for it."
The plan was risky, but Amaka knew they had no other choice. She took a deep breath and nodded.
The next day, Nneoma created a diversion in the courtyard, drawing Amaka's father and the guards away from the house. Amaka seized the opportunity, grabbing her bag and making a dash for the gate.
But just as she reached the entrance, her father appeared out of nowhere, his eyes blazing with fury. "You think you can escape me?" he snarled, his grip on her arm like a vice.
Amaka struggled, but he was too strong. He dragged her back to the house, locking her in her room with a stern warning: "You'll never leave this house again."
Amaka's heart sank, her hopes crushed. She was trapped, with no escape in sight. But she refused to give up, her spirit burning brighter with every passing moment. She knew she'd find a way out, no matter what it took.
