Chapter 13 - The Loss

Tunde's life changed forever on a fateful day when he was just 10 years old. He remembered it like it was yesterday. His father, who had been his hero and rock, did not return home from work. Tunde's mother tried to hide her worry, but he sensed something was wrong.

As the hours ticked by, Tunde's anxiety grew. He paced back and forth in their small living room, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios. Then, the door opened, and his mother's face was etched with a grief he had never seen before.

"Tunde, my son," she said, her voice trembling. "Your father is gone."

The words hit Tunde like a ton of bricks. He felt like he was drowning in a sea of despair. His father, the man who had taught him how to ride a bike, play soccer, and be a good person, was no longer alive.

The days that followed were a blur of tears, funeral arrangements, and condolences from family and friends. Tunde's world had been shattered, and he struggled to come to terms with the loss.

As the reality of his father's passing sank in, Tunde realized that he had to step up and take care of his family. His mother was devastated, and his younger siblings were too young to understand the magnitude of their loss. Tunde became the rock, the one who had to hold everything together.

He started taking on odd jobs to support his family, working hard to fill the void left by his father's passing. His mother tried her best, but it was clear that Tunde was now the man of the house. He was just 10 years old, but he had to grow up fast.

As he looked around at his family, Tunde knew that he had to be strong. He couldn't afford to break down, not now, not ever. He took a deep breath, squared his shoulders, and began the journey of a lifetime, one that would shape him into the person he was meant to be.ReplyForwardAdd reaction
