Chapter 6 - Where Is My Book

"Please help me out," Yoon Ah said weakly. She was too weak to even lift her fingers.

The demon frowned but he had no choice but to help her because of the book he needed from her.

The demon let himself into the car and stretched his hand to help Yoon Ah out of the car. He could see that Yoon Ah was too weak to move her body, so he decided to carry her in his arms to her car. He placed her in the backseat, walked to the front seat, ignited the engine, reversed, and made his way to take her to the hospital.

Yoon Ah felt a lot better after she drank a lot of water while the demon stood to leave.

"I will take my leave now. Take some rest, and I will come back later to get the book when you get discharged," the demon said and turned to leave.

"Excuse me, how about I have your business card, in case we want to reach you," Yoon Ah's assistant said as she walked closer to the demon, who stopped in his tracks and turned to the lady.

He looked back coldly at the lady with a slight nod, dipped his hand into his pocket, took out a business card, and handed it to the lady, who also gave a business card to him.

"That's Mrs. Lee Yoon Ah's business card, please keep it," the lady said and bowed slightly, while the demon just collected the card, turned, and left the hospital.

————

Yoon Ah was discharged from the hospital, and her assistant took her home.

"Don't let grandma know anything about this, or she will be madly worried about me," Yoon Ah said to her assistant, who didn't say anything.

"Something is off. It's been a week, and I have been noticing someone stalking and spying on me, and look at what happened to me yesterday. I can't believe I was unconscious for hours and waking up back to life today. Do you have any idea what's going on?" Yoon Ah said, turning her head to her assistant.

"I think I have a clue about this. Your life is in danger, Ms. Yoon Ah. Someone or some people are out there to take your life. I think we need to be very careful this time, and it might also be dangerous to live alone because I believe that person knows where you live and will surely come back for you," the assistant said, causing Yoon Ah to feel more scared.

"How about I move out of this mansion? I know the person will surely find out where I am moving to, but for now, I think I can't stay here anymore," Yoon Ah said, looking scared.

"Yes, that's a good idea. There is a place I think is safer for now, a friend of mine just moved out today. We can just pay the rent while you move in there. I heard the owner lives next door since it's a big building with different apartments, and your apartment floor is the last floor. There are 20 floors to reach your floor, which means anyone trying to locate you would have to do a lot of work to know your exact floor," the assistant said while Yoon Ah nodded.

"We should go there, and I can move in today. I'll just get new stuff and property for the apartment; until we catch the culprit, I will remain living there," Yoon Ah said, while her assistant agreed with her.

That day went by quickly as she moved into the new apartment after the house payment was made through the assistant's friend.

"You should go, it's getting late. I will be fine here; you don't have to worry about me. And thank you so much for this," Yoon Ah said gratefully to her assistant, who smiled.

"It's what I should do. I should take my leave now," the assistant said and bowed slightly.

"Okay, goodbye. I will try to see the landlord today so I can inform them about my staying as their new tenant," Yoon Ah said to the assistant, who nodded and agreed.

"Yes, you should. I'll leave now," the assistant said and bowed before leaving.

———-

"Demon mother, you don't have to worry about it anymore. I found out who has the book, and I will get it back from her once I meet her again," the demon said with a soft tone.

"You should get the book quickly, okay? You know the book is all written about you and your power. You know humans can be insignificant but evil in their own way too," the demon mother said softly to the demon, who nodded.

"Yes, demon mother. I'll take my leave now," the demon said, bowing slightly before leaving.

***

It was 8 pm at night when Yoon Ah thought she should meet the landlord. She stood up from the couch, walked to the door, opened it, and walked out, making her way to the next door, as she was told the landlord lived next to her door.

She walked to the door, rang the bell, and waited for a response.

***

The demon was in the living room, looking frustrated and angry.

"How could my power not work when it's about that girl? I can't even trace her or feel her. Who the heck is she?" the demon thought angrily and roughed his hair in frustration just then the doorbell rang. He stood up and wondered who the soul could be that was disturbing his peace.

He walked to the door while the bell rang again, and looked at the screen to see the face of the person at the door, but only her hair was visible.

"Who is this soul that's not showing her face?" he thought before speaking coldly into the screen camera.

"Who are you, Miss?" The demon spoke coldly, but it seemed the lady at the door's attention drifted somewhere else and she didn't hear him.

The demon was so angry and opened the door angrily, just then a figure unconsciously hugged him.

The demon was so furious, that the lady regained her composure, flipped her hair backward, and made eye contact with the tall handsome man in front of her.

Both figures opened their mouths agape and in shock.

"You?" the lady, who turned out to be Yoon Ah, said in surprise, while the demon was also stunned, standing still and staring at the figure in front of him.

The person he had been trying to use his power to locate was right in front of him; she had come to him.

What fate and destiny are in store for these two?

They both stared at each other for a long time, forgetting they were still standing and staring at each other.

"This is the lady I have been trying to locate with my power. She has come to me herself and right in front of me. Why is my power not working on her? Why do I feel so strange and familiar with this human?" the demon thought, while he stared at the figure in front of him.

Yoon Ah also couldn't stop staring.

"Wow, I meet this man again. Could he be the landlord? This cold, rude man was the one who saved me from that harasser yesterday; maybe I would have been in a coffin and died yesterday. Maybe he is not as bad as his annoying face suggests.

"How long will you continue staring at me? Get in," a cold voice jolted Yoon Ah out of her thoughts.

Yoon Ah frowned and snorted at him coldly.

"I wasn't staring. What a small world, so we meet again," Yoon Ah said, while the demon led her in without saying a word to her anymore.

Yoon Ah rolled her eyes, followed him, and closed the door behind them.

The demon gestured for her to sit, and she took her seat on the couch.

It was silent between the two until the demon spoke to break the silence.

"Why have you come here without my book? Are you now stalking me?" the demon said, turning his cold look at Yoon Ah.

Yoon Ah scoffed annoyingly.

"Sta…stalking you? Ah, you're unbelievable. Why would I stalk you? I have only come to your door to see the landlord of this building, as I am the new tenant, and I didn't even know you are the landlord living next door to me. Oh, I get it now. You must be the landlord's son, right? Just call out your father, let me inform him that I'm the new tenant next door," Yoon Ah said, causing the demon to sneer.

"I don't have a father," he said coldly.

"Oh, my mistake. The landlord must be a woman who could be your mom, right? Okay, can I see her? I just want to let her know I'm the new tenant, okay?" Yoon Ah said, while the demon smirked and snorted at her coldly.

"I don't have a mother, and stop this craziness, Miss. I live here alone and I'm the landlord. Do you have a problem with that?" the demon said to her rudely, causing Yoon Ah to look stunned.

"What? Do you own this building? Well, it's possible. Anyway, since you're the building owner, I'd like to inform you that I'm the new tenant next door. I have moved in here because my mansion is not safe for me, since someone is out there trying to harm me," Yoon Ah said to the demon, who didn't seem to care or want to listen.

"Where is my book?" the demon said coldly.
