The clash of our swords echoed through the forest as we fought. I could feel the strain in my muscles, but I pushed on, determined to win. After what felt like an eternity, I finally saw an opening and took it, disarming Lila with a swift maneuver.
Panting, I stepped back and lowered my sword.
Lila picked up her weapon and sheathed it, a satisfied smile on her face.
"You have proven yourself, Zeros Silphide. I will serve you as your retainer."
Relief washed over me. I had found a capable ally, and the first major hurdle had been overcome.
"Thank you, Lila. I will do my best to be a master worthy of your loyalty."
With that, we returned to the guild to formalize our arrangement. The road ahead was still full of challenges, but with Lila by my side, I felt more confident than ever.
