Locked in a stone cell together, Uta and Stella sat on opposite sides of a wooden bench. The guards, assuming they were close companions, had placed them in the same cell—an unusual but convenient arrangement.
"Well, this isn't so bad," Uta said, tearing into a piece of bread the guards had provided. "The food's a bit plain, though."
"It's... surprisingly comfortable," Stella admitted, running her hand along the magically reinforced walls. "This isn't just stonework. There are enchantments to block teleportation and reflect offensive magic. It's an impressive design."
Uta paused mid-bite. "Oh yeah?" he said before casually vanishing in a puff of smoke.
Moments later, he reappeared, holding a steaming bowl of soup he'd purchased from a street vendor. "Well, their spells didn't stop me. Want some soup?"
Stella stared at him, wide-eyed. "You... you just left the cell?"
