"How dare a frog in a well, who doesn't know the height of the sky or the depth of the earth, call himself a god?"
Danzo admitted that the current Rain Village was very different from what he remembered, and these ninjas were indeed powerful.
But wasn't it too arrogant to call oneself a god?
"Forget it. I've lost interest in talking to you. Just go to hell."
With that, a chubby boy with circular eyes was the first to attack.
As the Preta Path among Pain's Six Paths, he had two main abilities.
One was a sealing technique to create a shield that could absorb his opponent's ninjutsu.
In the original story, he absorbed powerful techniques like Jiraiya's Sage Technique: Goemon, the Super Large Ball Rasengan, and the Fire Style: Great Flame Bomb.
The second ability was chakra absorption.
By directly touching his opponent, he could absorb their chakra into his own body.
However, this technique had a flaw: it could only absorb normal chakra. If it absorbed Sage Chakra, the Preta Path would turn into a stone statue.
Fortunately, in today's ninja world, very few people could use Sage Mode.
Currently, there was only Jiraiya, and later Naruto and Kabuto, so just three in total.
Danzo didn't know Sage Mode and didn't have Senjutsu chakra. If the Preta Path made direct contact with his body, the outcome would be obvious.
"Hmph, such a direct attack... Isn't that a bit too disrespectful to me?"
Aside from these two abilities, the Preta Path's physical strength was quite average.
Facing the Preta Path's attacks, Danzo dodged them easily and even counterattacked.
Bang!~
He kicked the Preta Path away, but as he saw the chubby boy with circular eyes get back up as if nothing had happened, Danzo frowned, sensing something was wrong.
He had used 80% of his strength in that kick, hitting the enemy so hard that he should've at least been injured. But instead, the boy just dusted off his clothes and stood up again.
Moreover, the sensation when Danzo kicked him felt off, almost stiff.
If he had more time to think, he might have realized that the three people with circular eyes in front of him weren't living people—they were corpse puppets.
Unfortunately, Nagato didn't plan to give him that time.
Seeing that the Preta Path couldn't deal with Danzo, he controlled all three Pains to attack together.
The Naraka Path attacked head-on, the Animal Path summoned ninja beasts for support, and the Preta Path waited for the right moment. If any of them touched Danzo, they could kill him instantly.
Of course, things aren't always that clear-cut.
Any of the three Pains could kill Danzo if they got the chance.
But in the end, they're just puppets—Nagato is the one really controlling them.
"Damn it."
When the three Pains attacked together, Danzo suddenly found himself in trouble.
The Naraka Path isn't as much of a threat in direct combat. It's more focused on "support."
So, Danzo could handle the Naraka Path's attacks, but it still took some effort.
The Animal Path, on the other hand, was extremely frustrating.
The summoned creatures—like the hell crabs, chameleons, rhinos, and hellhounds—were driving Danzo mad.
Individually, these beasts aren't that powerful, but each has a unique ability.
For example, the chameleon can blend into its surroundings and become invisible.
Danzo wasn't careful enough and got pierced by the chameleon's tongue.
As for the Preta Path...
Danzo couldn't figure out why it kept trying to touch him.
Following the rule that something must be off when things seem strange, Danzo dodged and defended, avoiding contact with the Preta Path.
As a result, he ended up covered in wounds from the Animal Path's beasts.
He tried to focus on taking out the summoned creatures first. He used several powerful Wind Release techniques and managed to defeat a few.
Just when the situation seemed to be turning in his favor, the Animal Path clapped its hands and summoned more beasts.
"Damn it."
After some time, Danzo's clothes and the bandages around his body were in tatters.
Judging by the blood at the corner of his mouth and his heavy breathing, his condition was very bad.
Danzo knew he was in deep trouble.
He realized that if he kept stalling like this, he'd never escape from the Hidden Rain Village.
With that thought, he roared to gather his courage and ripped off the remaining bandages on his right hand, fully revealing its true form.
"So many Sharingans? That's disgusting," Nagato, watching from behind the scenes, said with a mix of surprise and growing disgust as he saw Danzo's right hand filled with Sharingan eyes.
"God? Even if you are a real God, you can't kill me," Danzo declared.
The Sharingans gave Danzo confidence. To him, these weren't just Sharingans—they were like resurrection armors.
As long as he had them, he could revive himself using Izanagi.
In other words, with ten Sharingans on his right hand, he could come back to life ten times.
Danzo believed that ten resurrections would be enough to defeat his enemy and escape.
"You rely on those disgusting Sharingans? Boring tricks. You have no chance against God," Nagato responded.
What were ten three-tomoe Sharingans in front of his Rinnegan?
They were nothing.
"Thud—"
A sneak attack by a summoned beast made Danzo spit blood again.
But he didn't care.
With his "Resurrection Armor," Danzo's fighting style became reckless.
He ignored defense and focused on a fierce attack against the beast. Even if he traded blood again because of the beasts, he would kill them before he died.
Danzo was really frustrated with this guy.
The summoned beasts felt endless. Every time he killed one, another appeared. When he defeated two, two more showed up. It just wouldn't stop.
Danzo's desperate way of fighting made the battlefield chaotic.
In this confusion, Danzo found a chance, though it wasn't really a chance.
When the rhino behind him charged again, he didn't dodge. He stood still and let it hit him.
Even though he knew this impact would crush him, he stuck to his decision.
"I'm dead anyway, so what's there to fear? I can just revive."
Nagato: Is being able to revive really that great?
Danzo: Yes, being able to revive is that great.
"Puff~"
The rhino hit Danzo, but it also brought him closer to the Animal Path.
With his last breath, Danzo used Wind Style on the Animal Path.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Wave."
A sharp wind, like a kamaitachi's blade, shot out from Danzo's mouth and struck the Animal Path.
The distance was too close. The Animal Path couldn't dodge in time and was sliced in half by the wind.
At that moment, Danzo smiled slightly and closed his eyes.
