Being able to see the incoming attacks, dodging became easier, however, the high speed of the wind blades thrown at Edart was not a simple thing to avoid.
— "How am I going to get close to this slime with all these attacks." He said to himself, trying to find a way to get closer.
This was the first time Edart had faced this type of slime. With a faint green color, it seemed like a different type of nature-type slime, unfortunately it was of another element.
Being of the wind element, this slime's attacks were difficult to perceive. Since the air is transparent, if there is no dust or dirt in the air, it would be very difficult to perceive the distortion that the attack caused in the environment.
— "Now I can see your attack, but it doesn't matter if I can't attack it." Edart said with great frustration.
— "Eris, do you have any ideas?"
— ["I'm sorry, I think we should get out of here as soon as possible."] Unfortunately for him, she also didn't have many ideas on how to act in the current situation.
Edart didn't want to give up on this fight just yet. Seeing the power of this slime's attacks, he could hardly imagine what it would be like if he got the core for himself.
Putting in even more effort, he managed to get close enough to use the 'identify' skill on the slime, hopefully discovering some weakness.

Edart ignored the information that appeared in his vision and continued moving forward. The slime didn't stay still, and when he was very close, the slime disappeared from his vision in an instant.
— "Where did it go?" Edart said, surprised by the slime's disappearance.
— ["Twenty meters to the right, he must have used some skill."]
Turning his head, Edart found the slime, which immediately began sending more attacks at him.
This fight was physically demanding on Edart. He didn't know if he could keep going like this for much longer.
With the slime moving away, it became easier to dodge the attacks, thus being able to take a look at the slime's information.
— "Now I can see the slimes' skills, although it doesn't show their level." As the skill level increased, it began to show more information, which could give him an advantage.
— "He must have used 'Quick Step' to move at that speed. If only I could have that skill." Regaining his attention to the battle, Edart spoke.
— "This is not the time for that, I need to focus on the battle. I could use fireball, but I believe that this slime could easily avoid that. I think it is time to retreat."
Edart could not think of a way to win. Not wanting to take unnecessary risks, he chose to leave the scene.
Slowly, while dodging the wind blades, he moved away. Unable to turn his back on the slime, Edart had to leave calmly so as not to be cut in half.
Suddenly, the slime disappeared from his sight. Worried about its whereabouts, I hurriedly asked Eris.
— "Where did it go again?" Edart asked, hoping that the slime had run away.
— ["After you!"] Eris shouted in his ears.
Unfortunately, the slime did not run away. Edart turned around as quickly as he could. As soon as he turned, he saw a wind blade coming towards him.
Then, his body moved on its own and he held his sword in front of him with both hands. With the tip facing upwards, the blade of wind that the slime released hit Edart's sword squarely.
Putting all his strength into holding the sword in place, he managed to withstand the initial impact, but the attack didn't stop there.
In the next second, his sword tilted back, and the slime's attack began to slide up the sword, making a sharp noise as it slid down the sword.
Soon, the attack arrived at the tip of the sword and flew over his head. Having avoided the attack, he sighed.
— "Phew, that was close." He said, as he moved to avoid the next attacks.
While Edart resisted the slime's attack, Eris, who was watching everything from the front row, had an idea.
— ["Edart, try to deflect the next attack with the sword again."] She said.
— "You're crazy! I almost lost my mind, I don't think this sword can withstand any more attacks like that." He said, perplexed by her idea.
— ["Trust me, I'm almost sure it will work."]
He didn't feel confident coming from her answer. Still in doubt, he said.
— "What if it doesn't work?"
— ["Oh, I hope you're quick to dodge. Get ready, there's an attack coming."]
Having no way to escape, he prepared to defend himself with the sword.
As he was getting into a defense stance. That was the position he thought would work best. He felt his mana stirring.
Unable to resist it, he felt his mana going to his arms, reaching his hand and heading towards the sword.
The next second, the sword shone faintly like a rainbow.
By the time the sword was finished being covered with his mana, the slime's attack had already reached him. 'I hope this works.' He thought.
As soon as the wind blade collided with his sword, something unexpected happened to him. The compacted mana from the slime's spell exploded and flew in all directions.
Since he had his 'Mana Perception' skill active, he saw the light green mana scattering in all directions, which ended up creating a windstorm around him.
—"What happened?" He asked confused.
—["You cut the slime's spell... Well, that's what I wanted to happen. However, when the sword touched the spell, it lost stability and exploded in all directions."]
— "I don't understand how this happened, but it doesn't matter. The important thing is that I can dodge attacks easily now." Edart said happily at Eris's discovery.
What they did was something simple. The slime's spell was basically a concentrate of wind elemental mana, shaped like a blade. As it flew towards the target, part of this mana was consumed to maintain its speed.
When this attack hit his sword, Eris noticed that the mana was destabilized for an instant and was almost cut in half. At the same time, it damaged the sword, which was not resistant enough.
Using his mana, she controlled and covered the sword with mana, creating a hard and super sharp blade. Thus, when the attack hit the sword, it was cut in two and the remaining mana that was concentrated lost its form, spreading everywhere and turning into air.
Which resulted in the windstorm. Now, if they did the same against a fireball, Edart would probably die burned.
— "My time to attack has come." Saying that, he ran towards the slime. When a 'Wind Blade' came towards him, he swung his sword and cut the spell in two, creating another windstorm.
When he got close enough, the slime used its 'Quick Step' skill and moved away from him.
— "Damn you." Edart said as he was avoided.
For the next few minutes, the two ran around the field, like cat and mouse.
Luckily for Edart, the slime soon ran out of mana and he was able to finish the fight.
—"It's finally over!" He said as he threw himself on the ground to catch his breath.
—["I'll let you know if anything comes near us."] Edart just nodded and took the opportunity to regain his strength.
With the core in his hand, he rose to the sky and took a good look.
'I need to get stronger. If it weren't for Eris's idea, I don't know if I would have lasted much longer.' Edart thought as he looked at the newest core in his collection, imagining possible uses for it.
After resting, he decided to head home. On the way, he came across a fire slime. Unable to resist the temptation, he went after that core too.
With a bit of luck, everything went well, and another core was added to the collection.
On this adventure, he made good profits, where he got the following cores.
Two water.
Two plants.
One earth.
One wind.
One fire.
With a smile on his face, he returned to the cabin. Although it wasn't the peaceful life he so desired, he had already gotten used to his crazy days. However, Edart still hoped to find a way to live peacefully.
