It was as they entered the forest filled with lush green grass, small ponds of crystal clear water that they have entered a no man zone.
A place for those who want to collect valuable medical herbs and test their skills by fighting monsters and collecting there carcasses for their meat and hide. The two siblings walked carefree through the trees Zinia held her head high and with seriousness not wanting for her little brother. Mei was behind her carrying their baggage with his head low and eyes as empty and dead as a rotten corpse.
The forest was quiet as if it wasn't even the habitat of monsters. Until a sudden explosion setting trees crashing against others and in the direction of the siblings who didn't seem to care. A tree that was about to crash against Zinia but the moment it was within a foot close to her it shattered like glass and the shards flying in every direction. Trees begin falling as the sound of something huge running towards the siblings could be heard.
Until a monsters jumped from behind Mei about to swallow him only for it to suffer the same fate and get swallowed whole by a bigger monster. The monster didn't bother to chew the other and swallowed it whole before looking down at the two sibling with hunger in its eyes, it was a titan class monster and the cause of the earlier explosion that it can cause by lighting up its vomit.
Zinia said calmly "number six thousand, eight hundred and fifty two. Don't damage the head." With that said Mei's body begin to move like a puppet and jump in the air until his face to face with the monster. From Mei's eyes he saw everything weak point from looking at the soul of the monster that resembled the same form but transparent, covered in countless explosions and teeth all over its body. Mei raised his air like how a puppet arm is raising by strings and snapped his fingers "puncture" as he said that word all what's under the torso of the monster was caping with holes.
The monster's body fell with a loud thud the head falling in front of Zinia directly and Mei landing behind her again. There wasn't a drop of blood coming from the wound almost like it was never there to begin with.
Zinia took a step closer towards the lifeless head of the monster, with her bare hands she started to cut through the thick skin under the jaw and put her hand as deep as she could, before she pulled a gland of solid black liquid. She spoke to Mei "put the spark gland in the bag."
He did as he was told taking the gland off black liquid and wrapping it in a pice of leather from the monster carefully not to spill a single drop, he then put it in the large backpack he was carrying on his back and stood there like a statue waiting for a command.
"Let's continue through the forest, and keep your guard up." Zinia spoke as she started heading deeper into the forest with Mei following up closely behind her, this continued for the whole day until sunset with no disturbance from any monster despite being in the center of the no man zone.
Zinia stopped next to a rotting corpse of a saber tooth boar a monster nearly twice as big as the monster they encountered hours ago, the only difference being that this one had more then half its body torn off, Zinia inspected the corpse before letting out a sigh and turning to Mei "it's a dragon's, one clean bite but is too big to be a pawn or a knight and too small to be a rook so it's probably a bishop" she let out a sigh before continuing "Stay alert and take guard we will spend the night here, the rotten smell should be enough to keep anything from coming here".
With that she started to set up a small camp by making a fire and using a piece of meat covered in leather as a pillow. Meanwhile Mei stood guard by staying next to her and looking at the trees in front of him, he didn't look focused but he was anything but open to an ambush or an attack.
He looked soo calm and tired but his eyes held no thoughts behind them it, that it makes you wonder if there was even a in his head.
