Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 1

THE TALE OF CELESTE

I lived under the moon's rare glow and beneath the moon's scarce luminescence, I will vanished without a trace.

In the little town called Willow, where the mountain meet seas, there's a tale about a mysterious girl who appears when the blue moon graces the night skies. They call her Celeste, for it is said that she seems to embody the ethereal glow of the rare celestial event.

No one knows where Celeste comes from or why she appears only under the blue moon's light. Some say she is a spirit, others a lost princess from a distant realm seeking refuge in our world. But one thing is certain—her presence brings both blessings and curses to those she encounters.

Long before, I already felt an uncanny connection with Luna, the moon.

It all started when I was young. Every time the twilight descends, I would feel a shift in the energy around me, subtle yet undeniable. I always find peace in the dark, it's my sweetest escape to the truth of reality.

I grew up in simple household. Not rich, but enough to eat a complete the meal a day.

"Aurora, wash the dishes." my adoptive mother shouted.

I will gladly do as they wish. They sustain all my needs and they let me live under their roof even when we are not blood relative.

I remember what my adaptive father told me on how he met me, his little angel. Amidst the crashing waves and the salty mist that danced in the air, he cast his weathered net into the sea. It was a routine he knew well, a dance with the ocean that sustained him and his humble coastal village for generations. He's about to call it a day when he heard a whimper of a baby, when he take a look at it, noticed something unusual caught in the tide—a small bundle wrapped in tattered cloth, bobbing gently in the surf. He also noticed a peculiar creature that night, the seaside was filled Bio-luminescent that gave light to the darkness which is oddly to happen. Curiosity piqued, he waded into the shallows and retrieved the mysterious package with a mix of caution and wonder.

To his astonishment, nestled within the makeshift swaddle, was a newborn baby—a tiny girl with wisps of dark hair and blue eyes that mirrored the endless depths of the sea. She blinked up at the old man, her expression serene and trusting despite the tumultuous circumstances that had brought her here. Heart pounding with a mixture of concern and compassion, the old man cradled the infant in his arms, shielding her from the salty spray and the chill of the morning air. He scanned the shoreline for any sign of another soul, but the beach remained deserted save for the rhythmic crash of waves against the rocks. With a resolve born of instinct and compassion, the old man made a silent vow to protect this fragile life now entrusted to his care. He hurriedly wrapped the baby in his warmest jacket and hastened back to his weathered fishing boat, where he fashioned a makeshift bed from his nets and blankets, ensuring she was safe and comfortable.

As I slowly emerged from my past, reality gently reasserted itself around her. The soft murmur of voices in the background brought me back to the present moment, where the familiar surroundings of her room came into focus once more.

I am already 20 years old and I am fully aware of my place here. I clean the kitchen before going to the bed. I am sharing my room with the old man's daughter, we're casual and and good, everything is normal. However, I noticed that I am feeling weak lately and there is something wrong going inside of me.

Days have passed, my body went down. At first, I brushed it off as fatigue or the weight of my thoughts, but as the feeling persisted, a deep ache began to spread from her chest. Today is the legendary blue moon. I paused in my tracks, a bewildered frown knitting my brows as I placed a hand over her heart. It was as if a heavy weight had settled upon her chest, pressing down with an inexplicable force. My breath caught in my throat, and I struggled to understand the sudden onset of this strange sensation.

I glanced around, half-expecting to find some rational explanation for my discomfort—a heavy object, perhaps, or a physical ailment I had overlooked. Yet, the room remained unchanged, bathed in the soft glow of afternoon moonlight, while outside, the world continued its steady hum.

Fighting a rising sense of unease, I retreated to her room, seeking solace in the familiar surroundings. Sitting on the edge of my bed, I closed my eyes, willing myself to calm down. But instead of finding relief, I was met with a flood of memories and emotions, each one tugging at her heart with a poignant ache.

Images flashed before my mind's eye—moments of joy and sorrow, love and loss, intertwined with hopes and dreams I had buried deep within. It was as if my heart had suddenly awakened, stirring with a longing that she couldn't quite name.

"Help" I said before closing my eyes.

I woke abruptly, startled by the intense brightness that flooded my vision as I blinked against the harsh glare. I open my eyes to find myself standing in the seaside. As I took in the scene, my gaze was drawn to a figure standing beneath the shade of an ancient oak tree. She exuded an otherworldly grace, with flowing silver hair that shimmered like moonlight and eyes that held the wisdom of centuries. Her presence, ethereal yet grounded.

"Celeste" I whispered.

"Hello, my beloved daughter" She embrace me.

My eyes widen in surprise as I heard what she says.

"Listen, my dear. I will grant you the power of blue moon. I want you to live your life till the next blue moon come. And by then, I will take you to reign the celestial."

After the goddesss speak, a shimmering aura surrounded me, faint at first but growing brighter with each passing moment. It was as if the very essence of the blue moon's magic was flowing into me, awakening dormant parts of my spirit.
