Luke came back from a business trip he went on in Spain and was surprised to notice that Amy was not around.
He asked around and went to meet her fellow maid.
"Hello, where is Amy. Since I came back, I have not seen her." He asked the maid.
"Oh, Amy left. While you went to Spain, she took her things and left the house." The maid explained.
Luke was shocked.
"Really? Where did she go?" He asked her.
"None of us knew. She only told your mother that she was leaving, and she took her bag and left. That was the last time we ever set eyes on her. So far, none of us have received any letter from her of where she is or what is even going on with her." The maid explained.
"All right, thank you," Luke said, and he left.
Luke pretended like he was not hurt, but day in, day out, he was beginning to miss Amy.
He regretted his actions and the way he had treated her. He badly missed her, and he wanted her back.
One day, he came back from work, and he went to her room to check on her just because he missed her.
When he opened the door, he was greeted with emptiness. His mind went back to a time when he would open the door and he would meet Amy in the room.
He sat down on the bed and began to curse himself for his cowardice.
'I will look for you, Amy, and I will bring you back,' he said to himself.
He came out of the room and went straight to meet his mother.
He knocked on her room door and she opened the door for him.
"What is it, Luke? You look troubled," she said to him.
"Mother, where is Amy?" He asked her.
His mother was taken aback by the sudden question.
"What do you want Amy for? Why are you suddenly interested in a maid?" His mother asked him.
"Mother just answer me, where is Amy?" He asked her again.
"Well, I don't know. She only told me that she wanted to leave. Then she took her bag and she left."
"Really, mother? You just allowed her to go without knowing where she was going?"
"Come on Luke, what is wrong with you? How do you explain to be concerned about a mere maid? She got tired of working here and she decided to leave. What is your concern with her?" His mother asked him.
"Mother, I want her back and I want to marry her."
His mother was shocked and then she scoffed at him.
"Look at you Luke. I remember the last time when I caught you and her together in the garden and I told you to marry her. What did you do? You said you were never going to get married to her. And now you have suddenly changed your mind that you want to get married to her. Why are you this confused? Please go back to sleep and think about what you want to do with your life." She said to him.
'Mother, I will not rest until I look for Amy. Whether you help me or not." He said and he barged out of her room.
Luke's mother was confused with Luke's sudden change.
'What is it about this Amy girl that you will not allow me to rest?' She thought to herself.
'Well, the only thing I can do is offer to help him. Though I know that with or without my help or permission, he is still going to do what is in his mind.' She said to herself as she slept that night.
The next morning, as Luke was about to go to work, she went to meet him.
"How are you doing, son?"
"I'm fine, mother," He replied coldly. She smiled coldly also.
"I know you were angry with me last night, but I need to tell you that I will support you in searching for her." She said.
Luke was surprised.
,"Really, mother?" He said.
"Yes, because though I know that even if I helped you or not, you will still do what is in your mind. So let me help you." She said to him.
"Alright, mother. So what is the plan?"
"I will employ some trackers that will look for her and track her down. And when they get to find a location, we will let you know and then you can go get her and get married to her." His mother said.
"Thank you, mother. You are the best." Luke said as he kissed her on the cheek and left.
Luke's mother was surprised. She has never seen him this way before.
'He must really have loved her.' She thought to herself.
Luke's mother shook her head as she watched her son leave the house. She made a call to her private agent.
"Hello," she said. "I'll send you the image of somebody. I need you to look for her as fast as possible," she said.
"All right, ma'am. We're on it immediately." The voice said at the other end of the phone.
She ended the call and went to her room to rest.
One week later, the tracker called her that they had found Amy's location.
She told Luke about it.
"Amy has been found," she said to him. "She is in Portugal."
"Really," Luke said, "I will go right away."
Without saying another word, he quickly left the house.
He called the pilot in charge of the private jet and he took him straight to Portugal.
When he got there, it was easy to find her house, he knocked on the door.
Amy heard a knock on the door. She was washing plates when she heard the knock. So she dropped the plate, cleaned her hands, and removed the apron.
She walked to the door and opened the door. Lo and behold, she was shocked to see that it was no other person but Luke.
