As I stepped into my living room, I felt a chaotic swirl of emotions. Elation at finally being with Ciara made me dizzy, but that excitement was soon overshadowed by an impending sense of doom. I wasn't ready for my family's enthusiastically intrusive welcome.
As they rushed towards us, I could already see the teasing glints in their eyes, ready to pounce on the fact that I was now officially dating Ciara.
"Look who it is!" my mom chirped, her voice laced with too much excitement. "It's our favorite duo! Aeliana and Ciara! Oh my goodness, I can hardly contain myself!"
I groaned silently, my cheeks already flushing hot against my will. It wasn't just the fact that I had announced our relationship I could barely handle my parents' endless teasing, especially about anything that involved emotions or affection.
"Hi, Mom. Hi, Dad," I muttered, trying to sound nonchalant, while I practically melted into the floor.
