Hearing Li Hao say that Ye Qian was his second brother, Zeng Dafu was genuinely frightened. He realized the real purpose of the visit: a polite request to withdraw the complaint, which could also be seen as a warning. Even a strong dragon cannot suppress a local snake, and in this case, Zeng Dafu was neither the dragon nor the snake. Continuing to press the matter would only lead to trouble for him.
Upon first seeing Zeng Dafu, Li Hao was indeed furious, as this was the man who had injured his father. But to rescue Ye Qian, he had to suppress his anger temporarily.
Zeng Dafu's success was not solely due to luck; he quickly agreed to withdraw the complaint after Li Hao explained the situation.
With Zeng Dafu's agreement, Li Hao smiled, exchanged some polite words, and left the hospital. He drove straight to the branch office where Ye Qian was detained.
Early in the morning, Wang Yu arrived at the police station, fuming. "Where's that bastard?" she demanded. Yesterday, Ye Qian had infuriated her and taken advantage of her, causing her to cry. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became, so she rushed over first thing in the morning to pay Ye Qian back double.
"He's in the detention center," the on-duty officer said, seeing Wang Yu's furious expression and not wanting to provoke her further.
As they spoke, Yang Wei arrived. Seeing Wang Yu, he wore a smug expression and approached her. "Xiaoyu, are you alright? I taught that little thug a lesson for you last night. I put him in the cell with the heavy offenders. He won't come out in one piece today, for sure."
"Who asked for your help? I can handle my own affairs. I don't need you meddling," Wang Yu glared at him and then coldly walked towards the detention center.
Yang Wei, stunned by Wang Yu's outburst, stood there in confusion. Watching her walk away, he muttered angrily, "Stuck-up... You only act this way because your dad is the Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee. Otherwise, I wouldn't give a damn about you." Despite his grumbling, he followed Wang Yu to the detention center.
At the cell door, Yang Wei was shocked. He had expected Ye Qian to be bruised and battered, but instead, Ye Qian was lounging leisurely on a bed, with the usually fierce inmates massaging him. This wasn't a jail cell; it was a spa.
"Ye Qian, get out here!" Wang Yu shouted angrily, seeing Ye Qian so relaxed. This bastard had taken advantage of her and now seemed to be enjoying himself. How dare he treat the police station like this?
Ye Qian smiled slightly, "Miss, you missed me? Came to see me so early? Couldn't sleep because you were thinking about me?"
"Thinking about you? I came to see if you're dead yet," Wang Yu snapped.
"Sigh, women are the most poisonous. We've shared such an intimate moment, yet you treat me like this," Ye Qian sighed, looking hurt.
Hearing Ye Qian's words, Yang Wei and the inmates were taken aback, their gazes shifting to Wang Yu. Yang Wei thought angrily, "This stuck-up woman pretends to be high and mighty, but she's just a little slut getting involved with a thug."
"What are you looking at? If you keep staring, I'll gouge your eyes out," Wang Yu shouted at the inmates. They turned away, continuing to massage Ye Qian. "Ye Qian, if you're a man, come out and duel with me!" Wang Yu shouted.
"Duel?" Ye Qian laughed, "Miss, did you get water in your brain? This isn't medieval Europe. Besides, why should I duel you?"
"What's wrong? Are you scared? You're not a man," Wang Yu taunted.
"Whether I'm a man or not, you could try and find out. A girl like you shouldn't be fighting. You should be learning piano or painting; otherwise, you'll never get married," Ye Qian said with a smile. For some reason, seeing Wang Yu cry yesterday made him feel guilty, but today, he couldn't resist teasing her.
"Whether I get married or not is none of your business. I'm certainly not marrying you," Wang Yu retorted.
"Even if you wanted to marry me, I'd have to agree. You're so violent; marrying you would mean fighting every day. I can't handle that," Ye Qian replied.
Yang Wei was dumbfounded by their conversation. This didn't sound like a cop and a suspect talking; it sounded like a bickering couple.
"You're a scoundrel and a bastard! You're not a man!" Wang Yu yelled angrily.
Ye Qian, unfazed, said, "I am a scoundrel and a bastard. So what? Bite me!"
Infuriated, Wang Yu shouted at Yang Wei, "Open the door!"
Yang Wei, with a dark expression, glared at Wang Yu and then at Ye Qian. He reluctantly opened the cell door. In his mind, Wang Yu's attitude was entirely Ye Qian's fault, and he hated Ye Qian even more. He also secretly cursed Wang Yu, vowing to have her under him one day.
As soon as the door opened, Wang Yu rushed in. She glared at the inmates and shouted, "Get out!"
Never offend a woman, especially one who's lost her mind with anger. The inmates quickly backed away. Ye Qian, feigning fear, said, "What... What do you want? Don't do anything crazy, or I'll call for help." He covered his chest as if Wang Yu was about to assault him.
Wang Yu snorted, bent down, grabbed Ye Qian's arm, and bit hard. "Ouch!" Ye Qian yelled. "Damn it, are you a dog? You actually bit me."
Wang Yu, looking pleased, said, "So what? I bit you."
"Forget it. A gentleman doesn't fight with a woman," Ye Qian said, turning away.
But Wang Yu didn't relent and grabbed his arm again. "Again? If you keep this up, I'll fight back," Ye Qian warned.
"Bring it on. I'm not afraid of you," Wang Yu said defiantly, still holding his arm.
"Damn, I guess I have to teach you a lesson," Ye Qian said. With a slight exertion of strength, he pulled Wang Yu towards him, flipped her, and pinned her on the bed.
