Zak pushed the door open to let her in but didn't answer.
Evelyn decided to ask again. "What happened?"
"Just...come in." Zak mumbled and led her into the house.
The house was eerily quiet, like the whole house had sensed something bad was happening and held their breath.
"Where's Atler and Ellete?" Evelyn turned to Zak.
Zak turned to face her with a face full of guilt. "I'm sorry. I just...wanted you to know beforehand that I'm sorry. I knew telling you guys would result to...this, but I couldn't not tell you. I'm just....I'm sorry."
Evelyn frowned and brushed past him. She sprinted to Atler and Ellete's room to find them tucked in their beds.
Their eyes were shut closed and their faces had a sheen of sweat.
She turned around to find Zak staring.
"What happened? Please tell me, Zak. If it's something about Atler and Ellete, I need to know."
Zak changed to staring at his feet. "It's not about them. It's about you."
"Me? What do you mean?"
From his pocket, he removed two envelopes. One was crumbled while the other was neatly pressed. Two had the same stamps on them- A blue-waxed stamp with a single hourglass and words written on the bottom: FUTUREE
He handed them to Evelyn and she traced a finger along the lines of the hourglass on the blue-waxed stamp.
"The sign of the FUTUREE." Zak explained. "It's the name of the group of people who view Master Wyatt's visions." his voice hitched at the end.
Evelyn lifted the flap of the crumbled envelope and tore out the folded piece of white paper inside.
She opened the paper up to reveal a picture that had her gasping.
On the picture, she was laying on the grass with a dagger stabbed in her stomach and an unhealthy amount of blood was bleeding from her stomach.
She read the words written below the picture, which described her in the picture but with a few extra words at the end: Please be aware and cautious of your surroundings. It's best if you stay quiet and keep your profile low. We won't send any bodyguards to protect you as we fear that it would bring attention to you, which is the last thing you need. Stay safe. -FUTUREE: Predicters of the future
Evelyn still found herself hyperventilating even though she knew about this.
She tore open the second envelope and unfolded the piece of paper.
The picture on it was all she needed to understand.
The picture was almost the same as the first one, but so different at the same time.
Her eyes were closed.
Did that mean.....
Her eyes flew to the words below and her eyes tripped and stumbled along the words as she tried to find the one word that mattered to confirm it.
And when she finally found it, the world went dark and the last thing she remembered was falling to the ground.
Dead.
She would be...dead.

Zak watched wide-eyed as Evelyn's eyes rolled back into her head and she started swaying but when she started falling he sprinted over to catch her and break her fall.
He'd caught her but being the tiny grimmy he is, his arms gave way under Evelyn's weight and Evelyn crashed to the ground.
Zak's arms shook as he stared at Evelyn's unconscious form. That was the third body that crashed to the ground unconscious.
He took a breath and wrapped his arms around Evelyn's and pulled her out of the room into the hallway.
He dragged her across the hallway and into her room, then attempted to hoist her onto her bed.
After a few failed attempts, her finally managed to somehow get Evelyn onto the bed and covered her with a thin blanket sheet.
He stood by her bedside when he was done.
It wasn't his fault that Evelyn was going to die and the family was in devastation but he felt like it was. His brain knew it wasn't his fault but his heart refused to listen.
But what if it really was his fault? Ever since he stepped into the house with the envelopes in his hand, three people had fainted and he had watched three devastating plays.
Maybe it would be different if he didn't let them know about the envelopes and pretend it didn't exist to allow the family to be happy for a little while more.
But it was wrong to do that- the family deserved to know that Evelyn would be-
He stopped himself from saying.
He sighed and stepped a few steps back from Evelyn and sat on the floor crossed-legged.
It felt so wrong.
Everything felt wrong at that point.
What was to come of Evelyn?
