Shen Ruoxi tried to break free from his embrace, but Ye Mubei held her tightly, not giving her any chance to leave him.
"Ye Mubei, you're drunk. Could you let go of me first?"
"No, Xixi, I've been so good to you. Why do you always want to run away from me?"
This was something Ye Mubei often said, and Shen Ruoxi found it absurd.
In his mind, being good probably meant providing her with a sense of stability, but that stability came with countless injuries, leaving her wounded all over every time.
Yet all of this was invisible to Ye Mubei. Suddenly feeling weary, Shen Ruoxi wondered if both she and Ye Mubei were selfish, each thinking this was what the other needed.
But it seemed neither of them actually wanted what the other was offering. Shen Ruoxi let out a deep sigh and let him hold her, knowing that by tomorrow he wouldn't remember anything that happened today.
