Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Not Worth It for Xia Fanxing

When Lin Yao saw Xia Fanxing appear at the door laden with large and small packages, she knew something had gone wrong.

"Are you... running away from home?"

Xia Fanxing, while moving things into the house, replied indifferently, "No."

"Then what are you doing?"

"I'm divorcing Mu Hanchen. I don't want to live there anymore, so I moved out early."

Lin Yao was shocked. "What, you're divorcing Mu Hanchen? Are you crazy?"

Just yesterday, on Fanxing's birthday, didn't she say that Mu Hanchen had promised to spend the evening with her, and she happily made a big table of dishes?

How come they're getting divorced today?

The plot was developing too quickly; she had a hard time keeping up.

Gasping for breath from moving luggage, Fanxing said, "No, I'm perfectly sane. Don't just stand there; help me move my stuff."

Only then did Lin Yao start to help Xia Fanxing move her belongings into the house.

Eventually, both of them were exhausted and collapsed on the sofa.

After resting for quite a while, Lin Yao still couldn't help but ask, "Xingxing, what were you thinking, why did you suddenly decide to divorce Mu Hanchen? That's Mu Shao, the youngest CEO of Mu Group, the richest man in the country! So many women's dream man."

Fanxing glanced at her and said lightly, "Then I'll let you have the richest man. Do you want him?"

Lin Yao immediately crossed her arms, and with righteous indignation, refused, "No way, no way! Such a cold and charmless man; I wouldn't take him even if he were free. I prefer the 'puppy' type: considerate, obedient, and clingy."

Fanxing's pale lips curled slightly, "Well, there you go. Anyway, I don't want to be with him anymore. I can't go back to my parents, so I came here. No problem, right?"

Lin Yao replied promptly, "Of course, no problem. We bought this house together; you have half the property rights. You are also one of the owners of this house. But have you really thought through the divorce with Mu Hanchen?"

"Yes, I've thought it through. Even if I don't bring it up, he would eventually propose it."

"Why?"

"Liang Chuchu is back."

Upon hearing the name Liang Chuchu, Lin Yao exploded with anger, "Damn it, that white lotus has the nerve to come back!"

"Remember back then, when Mu Hanchen had a car accident and the doctors said he suffered brain damage and might spend the rest of his life as a vegetable? Chuchu fled the country the next day, scared shitless of having to take care of him for life."

"In the end, it was you, tirelessly pretending to be a nurse, taking care of him day and night for over six months, which miraculously brought him back to consciousness. Then you helped him through another six months of rehab."

"Now that Mu Hanchen is lively and back as CEO of Mu Group, Chuchu wants to come back and pick up what's ready-made. How is that fair!"

Fanxing, the one actually involved, was much calmer than Lin Yao, "Maybe because the person Mu Hanchen loves is her, not me."

"Liang Chuchu returned last night, and Mu Hanchen personally went to pick her up."

If Liang Chuchu was really scared of the dark and didn't dare take a taxi, Mu Hanchen could have sent the family driver, but he didn't.

Doesn't that say it all?

Fanxing, even with no self-respect left, couldn't accept her husband's infidelity.

This was a bottom line.

Lin Yao was furious, "Mu Hanchen is such a bastard, abandoning his wife who painstakingly supported him through a year of recovery, to go back to that opportunistic, scheming woman. Is he blind? Can't he see who has been the best to him?"

"It doesn't matter anymore. Once we're divorced, whoever he's with is his business." Since Fanxing had initiated the divorce, she had no intention of having anything to do with Mu Hanchen afterward.

But Lin Yao felt it was unjust on behalf of Fanxing, knowing how much she adored Mu Hanchen and how much she had sacrificed for him.

To divorce like this felt too unfair.

Lin Yao grabbed Xia Fanxing's shoulders, looked at her beautiful pale face earnestly, and said, "Fine, even if you do divorce, we need to strip him of a layer, he must give you a lot of money as compensation!"

Compensation?

Fanxing didn't really care; she was never interested in Mu Hanchen's money. It's just that he didn't believe it.

"No matter how much money, I'll still divorce. I've told him to get the divorce papers ready and send them to me directly for my signature."

"Yaoyao, I'm a bit tired from all the moving today, I want to get some sleep."

"Go ahead, get some rest." Lin Yao looked at her with pity and couldn't help sighing again.

She was just too considerate of Mu Hanchen, which was why she had allowed herself to suffer so much.

Xia Fanxing went to the bedroom.

She slept straight through until the next afternoon.

Her phone had turned off at some point due to a dead battery.

After charging it for a while, she found that Mu Hanchen hadn't called or sent any messages.

Had he finished drafting the divorce agreement?

She had to give him the address of the apartment so he could mail it.

Eager to get it over with, Fanxing took the initiative to call Mu Hanchen.

When Mu Hanchen's phone displayed the name Xia Fanxing, a barely noticeable smile curled on his usually expressionless face.

It seemed that his absence from home last night had taught her a lesson, and now she was calling to apologize to him.

Xia Fanxing waited a long while before the call was answered. Having no time for small talk, she asked directly, "Have you prepared the divorce documents?"
