The next morning I walk downstairs to see a smiling Jessi and a smiling but confused Pepper.
I didn't say a word and made my way to the kitchen to grab some waffles. When I was waiting for them to toast Pepper came up to me. "We have a problem." - "Besides the mystery girl on my- our couch." - "Yes. She's claiming I'm her mother. I think I'd know if I had a child, and yours at that. She knows things about me she shouldn't know, and I don't know I have this.. feeling, almost like a mother's instinct. You said you know the future. Is she in it?" - "I know a future, and yes we had a kid but it was named Morgan."
I pulled up the security camera of the living room and zoomed into the 9 year old girl.
"It does look like her."
The waffle popped out of the toaster. I put it on a plate and walked into the living room and sat down on the couch across from her and stared her down as I ate.
Jessi: "Dad?"
I swallowed a bite. "So I've been told." - "You are. And shes my mom. I told Sheild but they only tested for you."
A almost blank holo sheet appeared in front of me. "There's nothing on you here. As of two days ago you didn't exist. Care to explain?"
She giggled as she sat back in the chair trying to copy me. "You said this would happen."
I about choked on my food at her words and Pepper was wide eyed.
"Repeat that again." - "I'm who you expect me to be. I wasn't born, or should I say I haven't been born yet in this time. I'm not even from this time line." - "So you're from the future." - "Bingo. You're just as smart as you are in the future." - "Cool that snark, smart ass."
Pepper: "Tony!" - "What?" - "9 Year old girl."
I waved it off.
"What made me think it was a good idea to send you back to me." - "To save me. I don't remember the specifics. I actually don't remember a lot. But I do know that someone called Galactus was about to come and you didn't know if the world would survive so I was sent back to save myself and to warn you." - "Galactus. Great. I thought Thanos was enough and now there's him coming. Did I tell you a plan, anything?" - "No…. I was to young. I honestly don't know much of anything. After Thanos you retired and 4 years later you got called back into action for him." - "Great. You're no help."
Pepper: "Tony. Be nice." - "What? Now that she's your daughter to, your acting like a mother?" - "Tony." - "Sorry. Just.. he's not a small fry. I get why I sent her back."
I put my head in my hands before I looked up at Jessi. "Did you. Well older you exist when you were born?" - "No. I was the one and only Stark Daughter." - "So at least that's a change. What do you know?" - "Truthfully? Nothing. I was going into middle school when this happened and I never focused on history. Plus it was like all of you were keeping the past from me.
The only reason I know of Galactus is because you told me to inform you." She sat back in the seat with a pout. "Sorry I'm not much of a help. And sorry I was just thrown at you. I know I'm not your daughter. I bet."
Pepper sat next to her and pulled her into a hug. "Don't finish that sentence. You're welcomed and wanted here. And I know I see you as who you are. My amazing apparently smart Daughter."
I closed my eyes and let everything quickly sink in before I got up myself and joined in. "I agree with.. Your mom. That's something I'll have to get used too. I agree with your mom. Your wanted and welcomed."
"Jarvis." The blue Butler shimmered into existence. "How may I help you?"
Jessi: "Jarvis! You sound just like you do when you become."
I coughed "SHHH!! Spoilers." - "Sorry."
"Could you be completely strip the guest room closest to ours, then buy whatever she want for it."
Jessi: "Realy?"
Pepper: "Of course."
"What? Did you expect us to just throw you out?" - "Well, no. But I thought I needed to convince you a bit more." - "Well, no matter how you look at it, I'm stuck with you, the government knows your mine." - "Hey!"
We all laughed before I got curious. "Do you have the magic touch?"
She started to figit with her hands. "What do you mean?"
I my eyes glowed Blue and hers glowed purple.
I smiled. "I see."
Pepper: "What was that?" - "I've never actually just flare out told you, but I have magic. Magic is real. Many formes of magic is real, actually."
Pepper: "I knew it. There no way some of the things you can do it Tech."
I smiled and we both looked at Jessi.
Pepper: "So you got magic. But why are you nervous?" - "because I actually never told the.. old, my. The yous from the future."
"I see. Did we never sit down and talk to you about it?" - "You guys have hinted at it. But no, you've never sat down and Actually, tell me. So when I started to display my abilities, I kept them secret." - "That's Weird. I thought I would've told you. well since you don't know, and your mom. Pepper doesn't either. Why don't I tell you a little bit about magic and a whole Nother world that lives underneath all of her noses."
Pepper: "There's really a place?"
Jessi: "You're lying."
With a thought and a wave of my hand to make it dramatic, Pictures and videos appeared around the living room spread out, of the magical worlds of the American, London, and more.
