This is a list of kingdoms on the continent of Ouropur and their general description.
High Kingdom of Forodrūn:
The second largest kingdom on the continent with a population of over 87 million people. The capital city of Ordræd has a population of 11 million people.
Forodrūn is the most advanced human kingdom in the whole known world, as they invented the steam engine as well as other worldchanging technologies. They have a greatly developed heavy industry on the continent, with factories powered by coal, producing great amount of various tools, weapons and ships.
To sustain this industry, they constructed a vast web of underground tunnels and mines rich with coal, iron, gold and many rare minerals.
This makes Forodrūn the richest of all kingdoms. With the largest and most advanced fleet in the world, they colonised many Islands found east of the continent while also creating trading outposts on the shores of the eastern continent of Aesarus.
Although their army is only the second largest, their strength comes from the fact that it's the only professional army on the continent.
Forodrūn is renowned for its acceptance for certain forms of dark magic, such as hemomancy. Hemomancer guild is strictly cooperating with the crown and guards its secret techniques.
Many magical weapons that are made by the Hemomancer Guild are sold to the crown exclusively. There is even a law called Death-blood tax.
Upon a person's death, it is their family's responsibility to bring their corpse to the Blood Collection Institute or simply BCI. There, the blood-takers will collect every last drop of blood from the corpse using their hemomantic powers.
The blood is then stored in glass jars to be used in the future to create certain magical items and to perform certain rituals.
While necromancy is not officially forbidden like in other human kingdoms on the continent, it is still frowned upon by most of the population. Despite their bad reputation many wealthy and influential people request their services.
One of the most infamous services of the necromancers is extending customer's lifespan by consuming souls, which requires sacrifices. While most choose to use animals as sacrifices, there are people who are willing to sacrifice their lifes in exchange for large financial compensation to their families.
High Kingdom of Faerān:
The biggest human kingdom on the continent with the population of over 103 million people. The capital city of Pāārspol, which is inhabited by 5 million people, known for it's famous Great Library of Alcharēy.
Faerān is known for its vast and fertile farmlands and many villages developing into small towns. While Forodrūn made the biggest amount of inventions, it is important to mention that it was in Faerān that the first printing press in the world was made.
This allowed Faerān to dominate the book industry across the whole continent.
Faerān can also boast having the most developed knowledge and understanding of magic as it is there that the most prestigious magic universities were founded.
The High Kingdom of Faerān possesses the largest army out of all human kingdoms on the continent. While Faerān has a numerucal advantage over forodrūn, more than two third of their army is composed of levies, while the other one third consists of professional soldiers and mercenaries.
Morenwood Federate Kingdom:
Morenwood is a small kingdom with a population of mere 7 million with the capital being Gágthaìn with a population of around 350 thousand people.
It borders Forodrūn to the west, Fearān to the south, Svardia to the east, Sevlünd the the north-west and Finardr to the north-east.
Morenwood is one of the poorer and less developed kingdoms on the continent, with their biggest achievement in recent centuries being the invention of sawmills. They are also the second biggest exporters of wood right after Forodrūn and the largest furniture exporter on the continent.
Over the last 500 years Morenwood has experienced a rapid decline but still managed to remain on the map, though in a quite miserable state.
Many territories were lost during the wars with Forodrūn, but the biggest tragedy that struck Morenwood was the Great Fire also known a The Great Fire of Morenwood which occurred on the 7th of april in the year 89 BR (Before the Revival). The fire burned most of the forests and sawmills including Sá Kaìstal commonly known as the Sawmill Castle which was a considerably large castle directly connected to the largest sawmill industrial complex in the known world, which at the time produced around 15% of all incomes of the royal family of Morenwood.
This tragic event was soon followed by another as less than a year later, started a series of three consecutive wars in 3rd march 88 BR, 19th August 84 BR and 30th may 79 BR.
This series of wars became known as The Great Carving in which Forodrū, Svardia and Faerān took over three quarters of the entire Morenwood territory. The remaining northern parts voluntarily became Finardr's protectorate in order to prevent a total loss of idependence.
After the Magic's Revival Morenwood founded the Drúid School of Magic, which specialises in nature magic. The druids helped regrow forests on in the lands of Morenwood at a much faster pace allowing them to revive their wood based economy.
Morenwood also has an army, consisting only of 50 thousand volunteers. While they are well-trained and have high discipline, they are poorly equipped with their only armour being a chainmail and a simple nasal helmet.
There is however an elit division of war-druids who combine their matrial prowess with their magical might.
National Kingdom of Svardians (commonly known as Svardia):
Svardia is a large kingdom on the eastern coast of Ouropur, bordering Souvrian Republic in the south, Faerān in the south-west, Forodrūn in the west and Finardr to the north.
Svardia has a population of 64 million people and the capital of Voserpol with a population of 5,5 million, where the ruling Svardovid dynasty resides.
Svardia is the third largest and most developed human country on the continent known for its huge coal and copper deposits, as well as their horse breeding, with the Svard Horses being the biggest and swiftest ones on the continent.
In the last few centuries it has experienced a rapid development and expansion of its borders, uniting all of the eastern and a large part of southern Svardian nations.
The unification began in 109 BR with the outbreak of the Great Svardian Revolution led by Svard Svardovid who was the last descendant of the dynasty that founded the Svardian kingdom as a whole. Today Svard the XXX is known by many titles: the great, the Liberator, the king of the prople and many more. After the revolution Svard the XXX conquered the remaining eastern svardian kingdoms, as well as some of the southern svardian lands, officially uniting them on march 7th 98 BR. Just over ten years later in 86 BR, another great opportunity appeared for Svardia as they took part in all three of the Carvings of Morenwood, once again gaining huge chunks of land.
While Svardia was stronger than ever, it still had one glaring weakness. Svardia was a backward kingdom without any significant industry other than primitive craftsmanship and matalurgy. They also lacked medical knowledge, which led to regular epidemic outbreaks.
To fix this, Svard the XXX decided to sell part of the lands he has taken from Morenwood to Forodrūn and Faerān. In exchange, they would provide Svardia with their newest inventions as well as allow for free trade in order to help them develop from a rural and backward wasteland into a modern and prosperous kingdom.
Now, as the 5th century of the Revival Age, Svardia has become a powerful player on the world stage, with a large, professional army and a decent naval force granting it the status of the great power and a promising future ahead.
Kingdom of Finardr:
The fourth and last of the great powers of the continent. It borders Forodrūn to the west, Sevlünd to the northwest, Morenwood to the southwest, Svardia to the south and Norsvara to the north.
Finardr is the fourth largest army on the continent consisting of over one hundred thousand professional soldiers and third largest fleet.
Their main export is skins of many animals exclusive only to the territories of Finardr and exotic seafood such as levialings and leviadwarves.
Kingdom of Sevlünd:
Sevlünd is a federation of clans controlling large territories north of Forodrūn and west of their allies - Finardr. Despite being one of the largest countries on the continent, the population of Sevlünd is just 32 million people and their capital - Narv with a population of just 1 million people. Besides possessing quite large deposits of raw materials and fiord fish farms Sevlünd remains relatively poor and rural.
The Sevlünd military is probably the only thing worthy of praise about the country. All the clans with an access to the sea have their own navy, independent from the state.
