Synopsis
Hiroshi Nakamura, an unassuming librarian, is accidentally transported to the magical world of Ethos. Labeled a "Null" due to his lack of magical affinity, he is banished to the wasteland. However, Hiroshi soon discovers that he possesses an extraordinary power – the ability to nullify all forms of magic. With the help of a cunning rogue named Anya and a rebellious princess named Elara, Hiroshi becomes a symbol of hope for the oppressed Nulls and a threat to the ruling elite. He unwittingly disrupts the established order, thwarts assassination attempts, and even tames a dragon. As Hiroshi's powers grow, he learns to embrace his destiny as the Guardian of Ethos. He faces numerous challenges, including a battle against the king's forces, a hidden threat from ancient times, and a plot by dark mages to seize control of Ethos. Through it all, Hiroshi remains humble and kind, using his power to protect those he cares about and bring peace to the land. In the end, he returns to his own world, forever changed by his extraordinary adventure.

Chapter 1 - The Accidental Librarian Hiroshi! (CHAPTER 1)

The rhythmic thump-thump-thump of the antique clock echoed through the cavernous expanse of the Tokyo Metropolitan Library's Special Collections. It was a sound Hiroshi Nakamura had grown accustomed to, a soothing metronome that marked the passage of time in this hallowed sanctuary of knowledge.Hiroshi, a slender man with perpetually tousled hair and a pair of round, wire-rimmed glasses perched on his nose, stood a top a creaky wooden ladder. With meticulous care, he dusted the ancient tomes lining the topmost shelf, each one a treasure trove of forgotten lore and fantastical tales. His fingers traced the worn leather bindings, their embossed titles whispering promises of adventure and wonder.A wistful sigh escaped his lips as he gently returned a particularly thick volume to its place. He couldn't help but yearn for the worlds he encountered within those pages – realms where magic flowed freely, dragons soared through the skies, and brave heroes battled against insurmountable odds.In his heart, Hiroshi longed to be one of those heroes, to escape the monotony of his everyday existence. But reality was far less glamorous. His life consisted of a seemingly endless cycle of shelving books, assisting patrons who barely acknowledged his existence, and returning home to a cramped apartment overflowing with more books than furniture. On this particular evening, however, destiny had a peculiar surprise in store for Hiroshi. As he reached for a particularly dusty tome, his fingers brushed against a strange object hidden behind a row of ancient texts. It was a perfectly spherical orb, obsidian in color and pulsing with an eerie, otherworldly light.Intrigued, Hiroshi carefully extracted the orb from its hiding place, cradling it in his hands like a precious jewel. Its surface was smooth and cool to the touch, and as he turned it over in his palms, the pulsating light intensified, casting intricate patterns of shadows on the surrounding shelves.A shiver ran down Hiroshi's spine, a strange sensation tingling at the tips of his fingers. It was as if the orb was calling to him, whispering secrets in a language he couldn't understand. Suddenly, the library around him seemed to warp and distort, the shelves blurring and the air growing thick with a palpable energy. The orb pulsed brighter, its light reflecting in Hiroshi's wide eyes. A wave of nausea washed over him, and he stumbled backward, losing his balance. With a startled cry, he fell from the ladder, the orb tumbling from his grasp. The impact sent a jolt of pain through Hiroshi's body, but it was quickly overshadowed by a blinding flash of light that engulfed the entire library. The shelves dissolved into swirling colors, the books scattered like leaves in a whirlwind, and Hiroshi felt himself being pulled into a vortex of unknown energy. When he finally opened his eyes, he found himself no longer in the familiar confines of the library. Instead, he was standing on a precipice overlooking a breathtaking vista of rolling hills, lush forests, and towering mountains. The air was crisp and clean, filled with the sweet scent of wildflowers and the distant roar of a waterfall.Hiroshi gasped in astonishment, his heart pounding in his chest. He had been transported to another world, a world straight out of the pages of his beloved books. A world of magic, adventure, and endless possibilities. But as the initial shock wore off, a wave of uncertainty washed over him. What had happened to him? How did he get here? And most importantly, how was he supposed to survive in this strange, new land?He glanced down at the orb, which now lay dormant at his feet, its light extinguished. It seemed like an ordinary rock now, devoid of the otherworldly energy it had possessed just moments ago.Hiroshi took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. He was a librarian, after all, a man accustomed to dealing with the unknown. If he could navigate the Dewey Decimal System, surely he could navigate this fantastical new world. With newfound determination, Hiroshi picked up the orb, tucked it safely into his pocket, and set off to explore his surroundings. He had no idea what lay ahead, but he was ready to face whatever challenges this world threw at him. After all, he had always yearned for adventure, and now, it seemed, adventure had finally found him.
