The name Venomous resonates in JK's ear, making his eyes darken. He's brooding, deep in thought.
Andrew enters the living room, touching JK's shoulder before sitting beside him.
"I wonder how a man rules the whole mafia world without leaving any clue behind! Nobody even knows anything about him!" JK squints at his laptop screen, where a large letter "V" dominates, with a six-line paragraph underneath. "He's everywhere, but still not visible."
"Maybe his brain is as handsome as my handsome face," Andrew says with a grin.
JK scoffs in disbelief. "I'm discussing something important, so put your dad jokes aside!"
"Hey, punk! You dare to give me advice, huh?" Andrew retorts, pretending to be offended. "Keep in mind, nothing is more important to me than my handsome face. I'm worldwide handsome, you know."
"Okay, now tell me what you want to say."
Andrew's playful words earn him a death glare from JK, which freezes his face.
"I've got a lot of work to do—you have to keep a special watch here in my absence. I won't be able to come back for a long time. You're the most responsible person here, so it's all on you now."
"I got it. But when are you going? Where are you going? Why are you going?"
"In a few days. As for the other answers—secret, secret."
Suddenly, the doorbell rings, grabbing their attention. They both turn to look.
The servant opens the door, revealing Jackson and Jenny Lee standing there.
Andrew's face instantly contorts in disgust. "Look who's here, the international nasty siblings!"
He scoffs, "No wonder the bad omen was itching me since last night."
Jackson and Jenny step inside, and Andrew's expression says they've just drained all happiness from his life.
"Hello, gentlemen. How's everything going?" Jenny greets, smiling contentedly.
"For now, we're okay. How about you?" JK responds, though he can see Andrew's face showing his profound displeasure.
"Sorry, JK, you're mistaken; I'm not okay," Andrew grumbles.
Everyone turns toward him with concern. "What happened, my brother?" JK asks.
"I was fine… until they showed up. They're always here to exaggerate things," Andrew complains.
JK holds back laughter, amused by Andrew's exaggeration over something so trivial.
Andrew's sulking doesn't faze Jenny and Jackson. They're used to it. Jenny just rolls her eyes.
"Brother Andrew, you always talk rudely to us," she says, sounding almost like she's whining.
"Don't call me brother. I'm not your brother. Stay away from me and JK."
"Andrew, my brother, you're mistaken. It wasn't my fault," Jackson tries to explain, but Andrew has no patience for his excuses.
"You better shut your mouth. I'm not talking to you," Andrew snaps, scowling before he storms toward the stairs.
Jackson stands there, mouth agape as he watches Andrew leave.
"Yah, dumb Jackson, close your mouth, or all the mosquitos will fly in."
JK and Jenny leave Jackson alone in the living room, leaving him looking shocked again.
Jenny feels confused as to why JK suddenly wants to speak to her alone. When he calls her to his room, she suspects he has an unholy motive.
In just seconds, her mind fills with questions. Why her? Why now? He's someone that countless girls dream of, so why her?
She shakes off her thoughts and follows him into his bedroom.
As she steps inside, JK locks the door, making her heart flutter with nervous excitement. She turns to look at him.
Should she try to flirt with him or not? After all, she loves his brother, but he doesn't feel the same about her.
Flirting with Jacob Kyler is a challenge, and she decides she's up for it.
"I think you missed me a lot," she teases.
"I'm not the type to miss anyone, and you know it."
"Then why did you bring me here to your bedroom?"
"Because you want me badly."
"You're not one to care about what I want," she replies, testing him.
A smirk appears on his face, impressed by her boldness. "You're right, but I can still give you what you want."
She hesitates, unsure of his motives.
"You want my brother, right?" he asks suddenly.
Why is he asking this? she wonders.
"No, I want you!" she replies, a hint of defiance in her voice. Maybe she herself doesn't know what she is doing because the person standing in front of her is pretty confusing.
JK scoffs, clearly not convinced. "Don't try to fool me. We all know how much you adore him. But grapes are sour, aren't they?"
His teasing tone makes her blood boil. "It's all useless now. I've moved on. He has a girlfriend."
"Doesn't matter. You'll be his one and only queen. I'll make you his wife. I know you still love him."
Jenny's eyebrows knit together as she tries to process his offer. She knows JK has the power to make it happen, but still, his persistence puzzles her.
"Come to the point. How are you going to make him mine?"
"That's for me to know. You just have to follow my instructions. But if you fail… remember, your game is over."
Her expression hardens. "To get him, you can't imagine how far I'd go."
Seeing her determination, he chuckles. "Go, take a rest. I'll fill you in at the right moment."
In the kitchen, Melissa is making breakfast for herself and her daughter when the doorbell rings, catching her attention. She sets aside the dough she was about to mix with yeast and heads to the door, a bit puzzled.
Who could be visiting at this early hour?
She opens the door, half-hoping to see her son, who hasn't visited in years. But instead, another familiar face greets her, one that instantly brightens her morning.
"My handsome child! You're here this early? Has she done something again?" she asks, her voice warm.
"Good morning, Aunt. But no, she hasn't done anything wrong this time," he says, flashing an assuring smile.
She sighs with relief, reassured that her mischievous grown-up child hasn't caused any trouble today.
