The story picks up right where it left off with Benedict and Ryder devising a plan to break out of the dungeon while both of their respective kingdoms on the search for the both of them and Elara still in the clutches of the Gladius kingdom.
"Alright so here's the plan." Ryder explained.
"Do you see the keys over there." Ryder said pointing in the direction of the keys.
"Yeah?" Benedict replied.
"The only way to do that is if we could convince the guards to come to our cell, you can be the distraction and I'll swiftly get out in the last second." Ryder said.
"That's good, but what if the guard calls for back up?" Benedict asked.
"Hmph, don't worry my dear associate, I'm trained to be quick." Ryder smirked.
"If you say so, but I'll tell you one thing though." Benedict said.
"And what would that be?" Ryder asked.
"If your plan failed, don't say I didn't warn you." Benedict replied.
"Heh, don't worry after all..." Ryder said.
"I'm the strongest warrior of Gladius!" Ryder exclaimed.
"Tch, such an arrogant guy." Benedict said.
The two of them agreed in their conspired plan and waited for one of the guards to go towards their cell.
"Hey, can we have our meal please?" Ryder asked the guard.
"Fine, let me get in one second." The guard replied.
"Things are going exactly as planned." Ryder muttered.
The guard enters and before he makes a move, Ryder and Benedict immediately subdue the guard and knocks him down unconscious.
"Take the key." Ryder said.
"Right." Benedict replied, taking the key from the guard.
"Now the next part is getting our weapons." Ryder said.
"The only downside is that." Benedict said as he and Ryder were surrounded by the dungeon guards.
"Heh that won't be much of a trouble." Ryder said.
"Yeah, we'll just have to use our fists for this one." Benedict said.
Benedict and Ryder went ahead to fist fight the guards and manage to defeat a dozen of them together.
"They should not have underestimated us." Ryder said.
"After all, we are the strongest warriors of the strongest nations in the world." Benedict exclaimed.
They eventually found where their weapons are located.
"Now it feels so much better." Benedict said as he equipped his weapons.
"You're not wrong, Securis." Ryder replied.
Another batch of enemy scouts arrive, blocking their path once again.
"How did these fools managed to break out of their cells?!" The enemy scout exclaimed.
"Maybe its because you underestimated your captives." Ryder said snarkily.
"Heh...he has a point indeed." Benedict remarked.
The two of them charged in synchronization and swung their weapons towards their enemies, knocking them down one by one using nothing but their immeasurable strength and their combined work together as a duo.
"Well that's the rest of them taken care of." Benedict said.
"You know we make a pretty good team, you and I." Ryder replied sheathing his rapiers.
"Yea..." Benedict said.
"But this doesn't mean anything, we are still not close, Rapier!" Benedict said angrily.
"Fine if you say so Securis." Ryder replied.
"But you can't deny, we did good out there, don't you think?" Ryder asked.
"Hmph, I guess you could say that." Benedict said.
"Now let's get out of here before these dimwits get back into top shape." Ryder replied.
"Right, lead the way." Benedict said.
*Meanwhile in a field where a group of soldiers from the Clypeus kingdom are located*
"We must find Securis immediately." A Clypean soldier stated.
"It's been days since the captain had been last seen." A fellow Clypean soldier replied.
But as they were planning their next move, they were suddenly approached by a group of soldiers from the kingdom of Gladius led by Lucien.
"What do you guys want?" The Clypean soldier asked angrily.
"We're not here for a fight, Clypean." Lucien replied, stepping down from his horse.
"And how can we assure that this isn't one of your devilish plans?" The Clypean soldier rebuked.
"Because like you, me and my troops are in search for our captain as well." Lucien replied.
"So I tell you this, what do you say we make a temporary truce in search for our fellow captains, what do you say?" Lucien asked.
"Hmph, fine but if I see you pulling some tricks up your sleeves, you will be the one I'll be going after." The Clypean soldier replied.
"I'll be watching my blind spots then." Lucien replied.
*Back to Ryder and Benedict*
"Have we outrun them yet?" Benedict asked.
"I believe so." Ryder said exhaustingly.
Ryder decided to stop running for a while and sat down on the ground.
"What are you doing?" Benedict said.
"Isn't it obvious, I'm resting here." Ryder replied.
"What do you mean resting, we are still being chased by those damn dimwits and you have the time to rest?!" Benedict exclaimed.
"Well, just like the rest of us, we are only human after all, plus who wouldn't be exhausted after being chased by them." Ryder replied.
Benedict was getting annoyed with him and he sees that the scouts are still not giving up in chasing them so he picks him up and carries him on his back.
"What are you trying to pull here Securis?!" Ryder exclaimed.
"Making sure that those dimwits don't catch us!" Benedict said as he started running with Ryder on his back.
"Aren't you tired?!" Ryder exclaimed.
"Of course I am tired but seeing those dimwits still having the capacity to chase after us makes me so infuriating that I suddenly have the energy to run again!" Benedict rebuked.
"You're insane and a dummy you know that!" Ryder replied.
"Call me insane or a dummy but I'm just assuring that both of us are making it out alive in one piece!" Benedict said.
"And why would you do that when we are both enemies?" Ryder asked.
"It pains me to say it but even though you are an enemy of mine, I have started to show a little bit of respect to you not only as my enemey but as a fellow warrior and fighter!" Benedict exclaimed.
Ryder was touched by his words and did not say less.
"Just keep on moving." Ryder replied.
"Ok then." Benedict exclaimed as he was running up towards a path leading to a tall mountain.
*Back to Lucien and the Clypean soldiers*
"We should make a well set plan if we are going to search for them." Lucien explained.
"And suppose we were able to conceive a plan, what would be your next move?" The Clypean soldier asked.
"Once we are able to locate them, then we go back to our separate ways." Lucien replied.
*Meanwhile in the kingdom of Gladius*
"I just had the worst thought, Your Majesty." An advisor replied.
"And what would that be, Phoebus?" The king replied.
"What if our hero Rapier turns against us and teams up with Securis in overthrowing our kingdom." Phoebus replied.
"Hah! Such baffling nonsense, do you believe that Rapier would have the guts to make a move like that to his beloved country?" The king replied.
"Well not that I'm doubting about it but...there's one thing I'm even more worried of..." Phoebus replied.
"And that is?" The king asked.
"Do you remember that prisoner, the one with blond hair?" Phoebus asked.
"Oh Elara, I remember her, what about it Phoebus?" The king asked.
"Well how do I say this to you, she is actually the sister of Securis..." Phoebus replied.
"W-what?!" The king exclaimed.
"It's true, Your Majesty. She is the sister of Securis, also known as the sibling if Benedict Astaroth." Phoebus replied.
"You're right on one thing Phoebus..." The king said.
"This certainly is bad news..." The king replied.
*Cut to Elara in prison who is suffering*
"Will I ever be free from this place...will I ever see the outside world again...will I ever see my big brother again?" Elara cried out.
"Will my suffering ever end?" Elara stated, looking up at the ceiling of the dungeon.
