Sigh…. "It's a lovely day,"
But I know I can't sit here forever.
Stretching, I leaped off the rusty bench and started my journey home.
Lost in thought sometimes I stumble over air.
Nothing to concer... Honk, Honk!!
"Ok," walking with purpose I glance at familiar buildings, an unusual glint catching my eye.
Bending down a funny looking coin stares back at me. Dirty and worn down, I brush off the muck to examine its intricacies.
Unnaturally gold and hefty for its age, donning an arrangement of fine lines. Embellished with a picture of a knight and Pegasus duo in front of a grand castle.
Briefly I ran over my knowledge of foreign currency, but soon nodded my head dismissively.
The coin was too gaudy for me not to recognize and too pristine to be before my time.
Either way my eyes brighten with a childish glint.
Grabbing the token, as a collector of my size, I examined my surroundings once more, disappointed with the lack of other coins.
Eyeing the nearby kid establishments, pizza places, and arcades.
I Contemplate making a quick detour, my whim disappearing when I remembered Laila was probably at my house by now.
Buzz…. Buzz…Buzz!
Speak of the devil.
"Where are you?" a voice overflowing with
sass rang out. "I already told you I was coming, so why am I the only one here?"
"Relax sis I am right around the corner."
"Right around the corner my …. Sigh"," just hurry up the wind is picking up and these clouds look eerier."
Hanging up, I looked at the gray rolling clouds up above, rubbed the coin once more and quickly sprinted back to my house.
Coming up to the lot of small-town houses I step onto my porch in time to beat the rain. There, my sister, A dark natural beauty and my so-called twin stood unamused.
Anticipating her thoughts, I moved past her and unlocked the door, bowing smugly as I let her inside.
Eyes wandering my room Laila then turned to me with a concerned look.
"It's getting worse "
"I know you like collecting trinkets, but you never went this long just..., hoarding them." "When do you plan to have another yard sale? donation?" …..
"You Know I'll help right?"
Already feeling as though I sighed one too many times today, I simply embraced what was said.
Collections of books lined the walls. Stacks of Funko pops sporadically on display, art supplies and other hobbies blatantly breaking out of their containment. With wall decorations such as mirrors, paintings, and more display casing covering what they bulky items couldn't.
Not to mention all the Knick-Knacks I snuggly stored away.
Sifting my feet, Laila deepened her stare and started once again.
"Talulla, you've been distant recently, we're starting to get worried" "Sure, you're a weirdo and big dork.'
"Hey!"
"But you never put up any walls until recently" "Does this behavior have anything to do with that jerk Darus?"
"Now you're just assuming."
"Ok, if you say so." Laila replied doubtfully before grabbing a thick science notebook from a wobbly stack then walking towards the door,
looking back at me one last time.
"Seriously though this place is a walking hazard, don't add any more junk to whatever that is "she points at the obscure pile before scrutinizing me, lingering at the coin in my clutch and leaving.
Thun- der
Just like that I was left in solitude with the sound of rain.
