_Chapter 1_
Man, I didn't even notice my feet were killin' me. I walked all the way to Liwasang Bonifacio and plopped down on one of those stone benches.
"Phew! You really wore me out! I thought you'd never stop walking!"
It was Lorraine, who had apparently followed me. She grabbed onto my right arm.
"So, what's your schedule at CCM?"
"N-nothing yet, I just have a few subjects. I'm planning to cross-enroll."
"Good thing your mom made it, huh? Jeric's such an asshole!"
Jeric shot my mom, desperate to get back at me any way he could. He ambushed her one morning, slipped past the locals. The Bilibid Boys tried to warn their crew in Sunog-Apog, but they failed. So I met up with Dadoy and hunted him down a few days after I got some gear from him.
Fortunately, the .22 caliber bullet wasn't too bad. Mom got hit in the stomach. It even made the news on TV. We couldn't visit her in the hospital; Dad handled everything. He took a leave and was in touch with Mom's siblings who were nearby in Manila. Mom spent two months recovering in the hospital, and Dad had no clue what really went down. If he knew, we'd probably be going at it right now.
My bro's already enrolled in a private school nearby. It's close to our subdivision. Kate's in the province, and we just text. I also text Angela, Jessica, Lorraine, Dadoy, and his sister Nikki. Lorraine was the first person I told via text, and she spread the word about what happened to my mom. Everyone sent their sympathies, and Kate even called me. I couldn't smile or show my face because I was so pissed and angry. Talking to Kate just made my rage boil over. All I could think about was getting revenge on Jeric. He's definitely going down.
"H-how did you kill Jeric?"
I didn't want to discuss it there. I'm not supposed to talk about it with anyone, but I'm that open with Lorraine. Our bond deepened after Kate and I split.
