Chapter 63 - Dragon Seeds

"My Lord!"

"Where are you?"

Ravyn advanced through the streets with a terrifying aura covering his body, but as he made his way through the streets, he discovered more corpses wrapped in ice than he could count at a glance. This meant he had not done his job well and was still not ready to call himself Haldor's right-hand man. He wasn't even worthy of protecting him—how could he feel proud of being his right-hand man?

Just as he was about to increase his speed, he heard a calm voice calling him from afar: "You look well. I thought you wouldn't be able to handle those two ants you were facing."

Haldor, who was holding a girl and was followed by a boy, appeared in his sight.

Ravyn quickly said, "My Lord, forgive me for not being able to maintain your peace and for making you have to draw a sword."

"We are adapting to new fighting styles; this is not a big deal. I understand that you have your insecurities, but never withhold your sword from any enemy, even if it is a god. If your bones don't break and your muscles don't bleed, it means you didn't try hard enough. So remember this when you have to defend yourself."

Haldor handed the girl to Ravyn and said, "These will be my siblings from now on. Train them as future dragon knights and ensure they are properly educated."

"Do you plan to keep them by your side?" Ravyn didn't quite understand what Haldor was thinking. He wasn't usually interested in these kinds of things because he liked tranquility, so he didn't quite understand the goal of bringing these children back.

"For now, yes. But right now, all I want is to get out of this dump," said Haldor as he walked through the mud and puddles due to the heavy rain.

Ravyn immediately said in a calm tone, "Don't worry, my Lord. A carriage is on its way, and the knights will take care of the bodies. Do you have any special instructions for me?"

"None. Take all the wounded directly to the mansion, where they will be treated. If anyone asks about my status, just tell them I am fine, angry, or maybe furious because of this heinous act committed against me," said Haldor, who looked into the distance as a simple carriage arrived at full speed. But this was better than expected, given the situation.

When Haldor got into the carriage, it immediately set off for the mansion, followed by the wounded guards and new knights who had arrived to control the situation, count the dead, and identify the suspects.

The attacks on the princes were becoming increasingly fierce and frequent, which could destabilize the town. Therefore, security would be increased just to keep the people affected by this incident calm.

...

"What a damn waste of time..." Haldor murmured in the carriage as he wiped the blood from his body.

He did not expect his hidden enemy to prepare an assassination attempt as soon as he arrived in the capital. All these things should be handled with care because his enemy was probably in the palace.

The shadows would have to search for the assassin and eliminate him; only then would he be at ease after such a blatant assassination attempt.

But there were unexpected gains. Just by going out today, he was likely able to obtain two illegitimate members of House Targaryen who could easily become dragon knights, riding wild dragons.

House Targaryen had many dragons—more than they could control. So if they plan to defend against the outbreak of white walkers, they must use all the dragons at their disposal to reinforce the wall.

In that sense, the only chance they have to achieve this is to hunt down the bastards of House Targaryen so they can ride those dragons.

"The seeds of the dragon, how interesting."

...

"Have they failed?" Otto, who had walked a lot since he had those dreams, couldn't help but feel even more scared.

"We didn't expect him to be so strong."

"He's a child, for God's sake. He should barely know how to wield a weapon," Otto said desperately.

"A child who killed more than fifteen grown men without getting hurt. You should consider better options to kill him."

Otto remained silent at these words.
