APRIL POV
"Mummy, we want to go with daddy to Paris'' Adam was the first to speak, he squinted his little eyes at me and pouted his mouth. I wasn't expecting him to be ready to leave me and go with his father in a few weeks of just meeting him? Adam is the clingiest of all my sons, he literally couldn't be without me for a few minutes before he met his father.
"Don't worry we will be back in two days" John added, making a gesture of "two" with his little fingers. I looked over at Jason and he was already standing and waiting for the guys in an expensive and glittery limousine, pretending not to hear our conversation.
David was already seated in the car, he didn't even bother to say goodbye to me, "how are you able to take my son's affection for me away?, they literally do not need me anymore in their lives" I called out to Jason, he smiled brightly at me and opened his arms to John and Adam.
The two boys ran into his arms with their tiny cute legs and Jason pretended that their weight was too much for him that it made him fall, I didn't know I was smiling as I watched them with happiness in my eyes until stella cleared her throat beside me.
We had both gone out to see them off, "why aren't you going with them?" Stella who is my bestfriend now asked me.
"Like you don't know!, your brother will spoil me too much just like his Sons that I won't be able to life my fingers when I come back, it took me days before I could make my brain work" I replied, pulling her along with me toward my sons and Jason who were laughing and talking like we weren't there.
"He loves all of you so much, I have never seen my brother this content since we lost our parents, '' Stella said to me, waving at my sons to get their attention. They left Jason and ran into her arms all at once too. David ran out of the car this time.
"David is always on his own and the most mature one but he's Stella's favourite, he loves her too much" I said to Jason, he took my hand and played with it, Smiling into my face.
"You are not going to come with us still?" He asked me, right then I knew he had sent our sons to make me feel sad and left out about them leaving, he wanted me to come along with them.
"You both will become an item and inseparable soon, I promise you. You don't want to admit to it that you like him already but it's all over your face" stella's' word rang in my head and I swallowed my too obvious smile at once, snatching my hands away from his grip,
He noticed my change in demeanour and stopped smiling too, "you can always stay distant and cold to me, you know I love you and you love me too, put the past man in your life in the old and let me shower you with real love" Jason whispered to me, he didn't want the kids to hear our conversation.
Denying that I now feel something deep and intimate for Jason will be a blatant lie, Infact I love him. The way he treats me and my children, loves us and cares for us, he even respects me and gives me my space and boundaries. What's not to like about him?, but like he said about my past, it's haunting me and I can't seem to let it go.
"Why do you love me so much that you searched for me for the past six years without getting fed up? Why me?. You can always give me child support for your kids and stay out of our lives but you didn't" I asked him the tormenting questions in my head, looking away from his eyes, they were calling me in for a kiss.
"My heart was stone cold dead before I met you, I used women as I wished and I wasn't able to feel anything for anyone until you came along, do you think I will just throw that away? I love you April" he responded to my question immediately but it only made me more confused.
Our wedding was coming up and I made up my mind to honor the contract for Adam sake, even though I wanted the wedding too, i kept pretending that I didn't feel anything for Jason, my heart and head were fighting with my brain to open up and stop thinking about how I have been hurt by patrick and Lucas but I kept asking myself how Jason can be different when he's the most handsome, influential and wealthy of the three men I have met.
He has more than the other two men, the more reason why he can be worse than them.
Finally the long awaited wedding came and I was in a good mood until someone bumped into me intentionally, "I need to talk to you April, there's a secret you need to know '' the voice struck me hard below in my stomach and I almost vomited.
"What are you doing here? You came to my wedding? Didn't you hear about who I'm getting married to?Get away from me before he roasts you alive!" I snarled like a snake at Lucan, he has this pitiful look in his eye but I won't fall for it.
Few minutes later my eyes met with my step sisters, they were looking at me with so much contempt, hatred and scorn but this time I didn't feel bad about it, because I knew they wanted to be in my spot so badly, especially Chrissy who has a crush on Jason.
To spite Lydia and annoy her, I decided to listen to Lucan's so -called secret.
"Stella had to cover up for me so speak quickly" I had just spewed out my first sentence to Lucan when Jason appeared unexpectedly, I almost forgot that he had his eyes everywhere once it came to me, his men were always on my heels.
"What are you doing with him april! You left your table and came here to talk to your ex boyfriend!! You are mine now and he's not to get close to you!" Jason thundered at me, I moved away with full speed from Lucas.
Stella was running toward me, to protect me from her brothers' anger, we both know how he gets whenever he's angry, "are you quiet now, you were almost hugging him just now" Jason was in my face, breathing heavily and screaming at me.
"You shouldn't blame her, I wanted to tell her something, so I called her out here…" Lucan was trying to support me but he SINCERELY Shouldn't have, he couldn't even finish his sentence because Jason's hard punch shut him up at once, I almost laughed because I also had been itching to hit him hard.
"What's going on here!"'Chrissy and Lydia got to where we gathered and were both panting from running toward us, I rolled my eyes at them, their presence alone was making me sad.
"Why are you at my wedding dinner Chrissy?I told you what would happen when I next set my eyes on you, didn't you get the message!" Jason roared at my step sister, his eyes turning red.
I almost planted a kiss on his lips for fighting all my enemies for me, I know my own punishment was waiting in store for me but right now I was enjoying the show.
"You must hear this April, this is the only reason I wanted to see you, to free my mind of the burden and let you know that I don't love lydia, she forced herself on me by seducing me after spiking my drink"
You need to know this" Lucan rushed out his confession at me, still holding his bloody mouth.
"Are you serious right now Lucan?, pretending that you didn't enjoy the sex and came back for more, we dated secretly for a year and you were singing it to me never to let April in on our secret and repeatedly telling me I'm the best thing that had ever happened to you!" Lydia revealed his lies.
Then she burst into tears before talking again, "Lucan can say all he wants and paint me to be the worst person but after he got me pregnant he wanted to leave me, what did you expect me to do than threaten him with the very thing he created with me?" She shot the question at me.
"Did I ask you or your husband for any explanation?You all came to my wedding to cause chaos!I'm over all these and moving on with my life" I shot back instantly at her, it was no longer funny and they were beginning to get me upset.
I didn't know when I started crying, running into Jason arms, "I want them gone now! They are my bitter past and I hate to see them.. please!" I begged him.
I'm a twinkle of an eye jasons' numerous bouncers and security men were pushing Lucas and my step sisters out of my presence.
"With what you did today, just get ready to sign the divorce papers when you return back to France and I don't want you, your mother or Chrissy in my house anymore! I have had enough!!" Lucan yelled at the top of his voice to the crying Lydia.
Shouting like that for me to hear isn't necessary, because I still wouldn't go back to be with him even if he didn't cheat, this is because I'm in the arms of the man my heart beats for now and nothing will separate us, I will make sure of that.
