It was the coldest night of the winter when the shabbily dressed, with dirty mud riddled hair, a women with sharp features coated with dirt and sand, bright mocha colored eyes, with an injured leg slowly walked into the room filled with elegantly dressed rich people of the society.
With blood trailing off in her wake, her white dress all painted in the crimson red, she walked up the steps of the large sprawling mansion of The renowned Wei family.
She has entered through the back door cause she wasn't allowed from the front. Only because she knew the mansion like the back of her hand after spending almost all her time here in the past three months incased inside the stone walls of the Wein House.
She slowly glided into the chandelier lighted ballroom with lights filtering to every corner, lightening up every crevice of the room.
And at the entrance she took a pause to take it all in, the smiling faces, the jewelled people and the elegance of the world class people, all gathered here on the joyous occasion of the union between the two most grand families of the city.
None of the categories, which she fitted into.
A moment later a gasp sounded and slowly people turned towards her, realising her ruddy presence in the room full of powerful people, pointing their fingers, while disgust shown through their expressions.
She ignored them, not minding their reactions, moved further into the room looking to find that one face, the one she knows that will make all this pain go away. It will be worth it, the pain will be worth it.
And so with the desperation of one last breath she filtrated through the crowd of people looking, her eyes darting across every crevice of the room, walking, stumbling to find him.
The room has quitened by now and the people all have given her a wide berth wherever she stepped, to not get touched by her and getting their selves messed up in any way.
The haunted eyes looked at all the places but she couldn't find him anywhere in the giant room.
But then suddenly a beautiful laughter, soft and controlled sounded from above her, followed by the deep masculine one.
The one she has heard so many times and which has provided a temporary comfort to her over the last few months.
The sound of it made her stop in her tracks and she slowly turned towards the sound coming from the roundway stairs as the couple descended down while holding hands and the smiles of pure illustrious joy on their faces.
And the breath left from her body...
Because there he stood all dapped in tailored clothes with a pair of honey colored eyes and strong features, looking handsome while exuding confidence from his posture and a gentle look in those eyes.
His arm drapped possessively around a women who she knew very well.
The strong stench of betrayal coursed through her and she nearly fell down on her arse as her feet gave away under her.
Shocked she might be, still in enough senses to move, she took a couple of steps towards them.
By now they have their attention on her, she slowly looked up and made her way towards them as she saw the guy she fell for, has no hint of remorse in his eyes as he stood there tall with his arms firmly clasped around the girl in red gown.
He took a step and subtly stood in front of her, as if guarding her from anything dangerous.
Here the dangerous thing being her.
And now seeing the way he was standing protective of her, she didn't feel like she needed any answer to any of her questions.
Because the answers stood right in front of her.
But still for the purpose of believing in her past self she took a step in his direction and asked the question, haunting her since the last three days when she was stuck in the headlock position with the goons who held her captive and chased her through the dark forest.
"Did you loved me?" She asked brokenly, "....ever?" she choked in the last word as a few drops of tears cascaded down her cheeks.
Her eyes betraying every emotion she felt as she tried to hold onto something or anything which would make it easier for her to survive the answer which she knew even without him saying anything, but she couldn't, because the hope that she had felt, all the while fighting her way through the last three days of captivity, slowly dwindled right in front of her.
she tried to hold a leash to her emotions which she barely grasped as the feelings she have been feeling so strongly betrayed out of her through her eyes. Her body trembled under the weight of the emotions and she slowly started breaking from inside in the room full of strangers throwing her condenscending glances for trying to break a match made in heaven.
She knew the answer even before he opened his lips, "No, Never" and the few words bit her more harshly than she could fathom.
His eyes betrayed his real emotions as disgust manifested on his face.
How foolish she was to let herself fall into this situation.
She mocked herself for not seeing what was right in front of her eyes since the start.
And now she did...
In the room full of strangers, she was made a laughing stock.
She has immersed herself in the fairytale of him.
She sought freedom through him, she thought she can escape her past and her family. But she couldn't, not while all the time it was she who was delusional enough to not see what was right in front of her.
But her life has always dealt the cruel pieces of reality to her through the most wicked ways.
And now she fell into the another one of her life tragedies, which by now she should have learned to accept as they come.
She was not in her senses when she felt the crushing weight on her arms, like steel bands, locked on her thin fragile arms. And she was also not in her senses when the guy she thought she was in love with gave the verdict for her, to be thrown out of the house, into the solitude of the night.
And then she was dragged through the clusters of guests, all while not putting up any fight, but still looking at the eyes of her doom.
He stood tall, with squared shoulders gazing at her with hatred in his eyes and the support of the World's richest family behind him. His love stood right beside him, with him.
Him, Wei Yuhan, the famous international Singer and the CEO to the best music record company, The stars of tonight, He stood tall and proud as the spoiled child of the Wei Family, the youngest brother of the devil, Wei Jianglin who controls the Wei group and is known as the daredevil of the Business world.
While her world crumbled on itself, she was dragged out but only she heard the last few words that were thrown at the guards.
"Throw her out before big brother comes in. He hates dirt and wouldn't like to see a piece of trash in the grand opulence of this room."
And just with these words Wu Tian's soul shattered into pieces.
....
Wu Tian's POV:
I was thrown out of the house and into the chilled night weather.
The guards didn't spare me a second glance as they shut the large doors on my face.
I didn't linger there much as the cold winds of the night swept past me making me shiver in the cold.
And so I wiped my tears with the backseat of my hands and started walking with no place to go.
I have barely walked until the end of the street when a car honked louder and I was too blindsided to notice the car before it hit me, sending me flying backwards and I only felt the searimg hot pain engulfing me before I almost fainted.
