Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 The Captured

"You sure this is enough? This will barely last you a week, kid." Roses says after he put a dozen boxes of bread sticks in the almost bottomless small bag. Jacko collected some of his own items, his towel, toothbrush and paste, pillow and blanket and some shirts. "Well it could have a limit!" He says as he stuffed all the items in the small bag. "You want be living all fancy like you was living here out there." Roses reminded. "As someone who's lived out like that before, you got to be wary of all the monsters you could face, and it ain't just slimes." Roses told. "I won't be alone." Jacko told, Finn nodding and crossing it's arms besides his head. "Right, the only difference is you got almost everything an adventurer needs with your weird powers of yours. Great." Roses felt his insecurity returning to him. "You sure you won't be bringing wands with you?" He asked. "I already have slimes, Roses!" Jacko reminded. "Right. Just farewell everyone before you go. I heard Vines just woke up today." Roses reminded.

Jacko walked out of the tavern, seeing the other adventurers helping out the locals to fix everything damaged. He thought about saying goodbye to Petal and Vines, but he somehow felt scared seeing them before he leaves. What if he couldn't leave just because he might not get used to seeing them? He shook his head and looked ahead. "Finn, I'm not sure I can do this." Jacko said. "Hiii!" Finn flies up to his face and gives him a thumbs up. "Right, right... I'm a man..." Jacko reminded himself as he re-adjusts his belt. He sniffed himself and sighed in relief on how good he smelt. He takes baths regularly after all. He then walks out to the first location of his adventure. Shammy Forest.

The forest had more trees than the Slime Grove, because most houses in Honey Town are made out of the trees from Honey Grove. The reason why the trees here are left to grow here, is because there were stories of how lumberjacks disappeared when they chopped a tree in this very forest. Some say there's a spirit in this forest. The forest does have slimes, but wild animals are more common here. For some reason the so-called spirit doesn't care if you hunt animals here, so that's pretty neat.

Jacko already ate his 5th bread sticks as he walked around, sitting by a tree and hugged his chest. "This...this place..." He shivered as he heard a howl nearby. "Hi, HI!" Finn yelled to Jacko. "Yeah...YEAH! I'm a man... I'm a...MAAAAAN-!" A wolf then crawled out of the shadows, growling and walking towards the vulnerable Jacko. Jacko looked fearful, then he gulped and gathered the courage. "Get 'em Broff!" Jacko called out, as a fiery slime rune appeared mid air and then out comes a fiery slime. The Fire Slime then shoots a powerful fireball at the wolf, incinerating the wolf within seconds. It was way stronger than a normal Fire Slime. "Thank you, Broff...oh god, calling you that feels so weird...." Jacko thought. The idea was to name the Fire Slime to honor Broff, but now it feels like he's just using and treating Broff like his attack dog. As he was thinking, the Fire Slime hopped to Jacko's side, it then formed a fire face within it's flames, with a smile. Jacko couldn't resist but to pet the fiery abomination. "You're just so cute when you do that, Broff..." Jacko said. Jacko then heard a large cracking sound as he saw the flames from the attack burn a tree down. Jacko immediately panicked as he then summoned a Water slime and then throws it to the fire and makes it explode in water to extinguish it all. Jacko was getting way too attached to the actual sentient slimes instead of the normal ones. Its very concerning. It's even more concerning that Jacko summoned another Water Slime and then places it's body at his lips and started drinking water. "Ah! Welp, I'm all ready to go." He says as he unsummoned the slime and Broff with Finn flying beside him.

Little did they know, a little green glow was watching them from a distance.

Jacko kept walking around the forest, he was starting to get really confused. He swore he was following the map correctly, yet the forest is as dense as they entered. As said in the malz there was supposed to be a clearing nearby. There was only trees, in fact there was more of them. Finn then looked at something flying by them. He immediately tugged Jacko's robe to point in that direction. Jacko also looked to why it was tugging him. Another then whizzed by Jacko, this time he was the one who saw it. Jacko took a deep breath and then raised his voice. "Who's there!?" He yelled. Jacko then felt a piercing sting by his shoulder. He groaned and then Finn immediately started shooting beams at the lights. Jacko kept looking around and then continued to keep dodging the lights as he can, he kept getting grazed through his legs and arms...and the lights began getting bigger. As they got bigger, he saw that they were large people with fairy wings...Human fairies!? They were slashing them with strange pink knives. Jacko looked at them as they g.ll to his size, but they didn't seem to attack. As they were attacking Jacko, Finn himself was then tied up by familiar magic ropes, they were green and blue. "Hi! Hiiiii!" Finn cried as he was then thrown to the ground next to Jacko...Wait a minute.

Jacko then turned to whom fell to his side, it was Finn...seeing him as large as him. "Finn!? Hey!" Jacko then turned to the two men in front of him, they had an almost similar look to Finn, though they are bigger and seemingly stronger. One of them was glowing blue, the other green. They then tie up Jacko with the same magical rope. "Uh...Heyyy?" Jacko said as he realized what happened. He looked up at the trees, seemingly a thousand times taller than before. They have shrunk. "Shut up, human!" The blue fairy said as he tightened the magic rope around Jacko. "Hiii! Hiii!" Finn yelled at the two fairies. "You, how dare you defend a human!?" The green fairy yelled. "Hi? Hi! Hi!" The pink slime answered. The two fairies looked at the pink fairy in confusion. "Finn doesn't speak-" The magic rope tightens Jacko and he shuts up. The blue fairy then grabbed Finn by his neck, then suddenly gasped at the texture. "A Fairy Slime!? Imitating our form!? Impossible!" He cried. "How is this even possible!?" The green fairy asked as he too looks at Finn with curiosity. Jacko didn't dare to speak a word this time. "Whatever, let's just bring them to the Queen." The blue fairy said. Jacko looked at Finn, as then their tied selves are now pushed together, making them face each other. "Hi...." Finn said with a sorry tone. "It's ok, you did your best." Jacko said. The fairies didn't get to hear them this time, as they are now carrying them in the air by their string, while flying across the forest. Jacko tried to summon a slime with his head, slime runes do form, but his slime heart throbs aggressively when he tried, he couldn't summon at all, maybe not with this size. The fairies then brought the two inside a hole on one of the trees. It looked hollow from the outside, but as they entered the hole, they then saw a large lovely oasis with lush grass and a running waterfall where other fairies bath. The waterfall itself rushes down from some kind of portal, which drained into another portal down the floor of the falls, repeating the process. There are also fairy houses made out of wood, some on the ground and some floating up with fairy magic. Then, there's a large floating wooden castle with fairy-like colors of pink and green. There are many fairies watching the incoming two fairies carrying a strange fairy with pink skin and a human with lime hair and green robes.

They are then dropped onto the beautiful floor of the castle. The magic rope is then loosened. Jacko looked around and sees the fairy guards looking at him, threatening him already with their stern looks. He then looked at the empty throne before him. Finn quickly rose up near Jacko. "Hiiiii!" Finn cried, hugging him and glad that his master was ok. "Finn...erm..." Jacko was quite uneasy with the larger version of Finn hugging him, but he's good with it as long as he's happy. There are then loud footsteps heard from the side of the throne. A large fairy with larger wings walked in, she wore a large dress made out of cut flower petals. She glowed in pink and had pink hair. She then sat upon the throne. The fairy guards kneeled down to her and they glared at Jacko and Finn whom were still standing cluelessly. "Human, you have violated an unspoken law of the Fairy Kingdom. A guard of mine has reported you to have burnt down a tree!" The large fairy announced. The Fairy Guards' looks are now filled with anger.

"You have no idea how many more fairies you may have killed by burning down that tree. You see, my subjects. Humans are a most evil! And...wait, that's not a human." The queen then noticed the Fairy Slime hugging Jacko. "It's a Fairy Slime, it's the first time we've seen one take on an actual fairy's form." The blue fairy told the queen. "What? Where did it come from?" The Queen immediately dropped her threatening announcements, replaced by curiosity. "My queen...the Fairy Slime doesn't speak our language." The blue fairy told. The Fairy Queen then stood up from the throne and walked towards the two. She immediately pushes Jacko away as she places her hands on Finn's cheeks, reviewing it's details. "Extraordinary, I sense it having the power of a true fairy...it's also cute. What is your name?" The queen asked. "Hi!!!" Finn completely ignored the queen and yelled as she knocked down Jacko. "I'm fine..." Jacko stood up, hoping his fairy slime is fine as well. "Right..." The Fairy Queen let's go of the Fairy Slime, then turns to Jacko. She thought of asking the human questions, then she turned back to her throne. "Send the human to the Fae Room." She ordered. "Hey! Wait a minute! Can I at least-" The Fairy Guards then place a wood block at his mouth."Annoying humans! They all sound the same!" A fairy guard said. Another fairy guard shook his head. "Nah, this one sounds gay." Another fairy guard said. "How can you know that?" Another asked. "Let's just bring him back." The fairy guard fidgeted as he said answered.

Finn was following along, until he was stopped by the guards. "The queen has not dismissed you yet...Slime." they told.

The Fairy Queen kept looking at Finn, stroking her slime with her finger. "Fairy Slime, come to me." She ordered. "Hi! Haii...HIHI!" Finn yelled at the queen as he then made his hands glow pink. "Oh? Guards, don't stop him." The fairy queen said as pink beams are then shot towards her. She simply blocks the beams with her large wing, amused. "It's quite weaker than most, but not bad." She laughed, judging it's power to be simple and not so strong. "Guards, bring him to the lab." The queen ordered.

Jacko is then thrown into a prison with bright colorful wood around them. Jacko feared to speak, he didn't want to be scolded, he waited for them to leave, then he sighed. "What is happening..." Jacko asked himself. He once again tried summoning slimes, but his slime heart gave him immense pain. "Could it be... I'm not big enough to summon more slimes..." Jacko realized. Then he heard a laugh from the other side of his cell. "Oh the sounds of the young. How funny you've already gone crazy once they threw you in!" Jacko turned to the speaking voice, there is a man stuck on the wall with pink slime, the same colors of a Fairy Slime. Jacko immediately got to him and was horrified to see that the man's body was being slowly consumed by the slime around him. "S-sir! What's happening to you!?" Jacko asked. The man looked at the green robes kid. "Shit, you're just a kid." He said, with a sorry look. "Sir..." Jacko says once more...he can't believe another person was going to die in front of him again. "I'm sorry kid, but they're gonna do terrible shit to ya, lemme guess, you burned down a tree?" The man guessed. "How did you know!?" Jacko gasped. "You don't look like someone who could cut a tree with those flimsy arms." The man answered, chuckling. "That's even less of a chance for you to get out. You wanna know what they do to the others?" He grinned, excited to tell Jacko. "D-do they kill them?" Jacko stammered. "Look above ya." The man wish he could look up, if there wasn't a slime stuck to his neck. Jacko did and saw a large hole with some slime stuck on the rest of the ceiling. "They drown us in slime...that's why they call it the Fun Room, and that ain't even the worst part." The man told. "The slime they put over us are slimes from a dead Fairy Slime, there's just a chance to turn the people who'd die to this into fairy slimes...and then they put ya in the lab. I don't know what happens then. Sadly, I ain't gone bring to the lab yet until they've seen me turned into a fairy slime." The man explained. Jacko looked at the slime on his body. "Aren't you scared, kid? There was no use of telling ya this anyways. You're going to die with me." He said...as Jacko touches the slimy part on his chest. "Can you feel your heart?" Jacko asked, looking excitedly at the man. "Oh shit. I don't even know..." The man realized. Jacko was touching the slime part on where his heart was supposed to be. Jacko was feeling something from his body. The same feeling when he held the Slime Crystal and the orbs from Honey Town. A soul. Jacko could feel the soul, but he cannot take it...for the soul has not left the original vessel. Jacko looked down as he let go of the man's chest and sat down below him. "Hmm, you remind me of my own son." The man said, hoping to comfort him. " 'cept he's got black hair, we look alike really. I just wish the slime didn't eat away my damn hair." He continued. Jacko was in deep thought, as if he cannot hear him. "What's your name, kid?" Jacko then looked up, as if just awoken. "I'm...Jacko, sir." Jacko answered, it's like an instinct for him to answer his own name when he was asked to. "Jacko... I'm Mark." He said. "Used to work as a smithy at Greyhold, I left cuz I got shit pay. I was headed to this small town called "Honey Town". I heard they don't have good smiths there. And there won't be now, sadly." Mark told. Jacko smiled as he recognized his own town name. "I lived there...we were attacked by bad Magekeeps, and I'm going to Greyhold to ask for help." Jacko said, he just felt obligated to share some of his own story at this point.

The Fairy Guards led Finn to a large room with large bubbles of various colors. Finn noticed Fairy Slimes being kept in cages, all colors and sizes. "Hi?" He asked. "Hmm, this is actually pretty cool." The guard fairy passes his hand through the slimy body of Finn. "Hi!" Finn scolded as he slapped the hand. The other female fairy guard didn't let the fairy guard retaliate with a punch. "I know he's a just a Fairy Slime to you, but you have to respect them as well!" The female guard scolded. The guard backed off. Finn nodded and thanked the female guard with a "Hi!". The guard smiled. The two guards then stepped aside and stood by the walls as they saw who was about to come by. Finn turned to see the Fairy Queen once again. The Queen passed Finn by. "Follow me." She said, Finn hesitated but he followed anyway, since there's really nothing he can do.

She lead the Fairy Slime to one of the pink bubbles in the lab. "Do you wish to become like us?" The queen asked Finn. The slime thought for a bit, this wasn't really something he even considered. "Hiii?" Finn shrugged. "So you're not sure, well what if I tell you, you can?" The Queen asked. Finn shrugged again. The queen gave him an unsatisfied look. "Just get in the bubble." She ordered. Finn sensed her dissatisfaction and immediately entered the bubble.

The Fairy Queen held her arms out, making her hands glow and shooting out small beams, but unlike what Finn normally does, she controls the movements of the beams to surround the bubble, making the bubble spin. Finn then gets tumbled around the bubble with discontented cries of Hi. The beams then began to enter his body, each hit bringing pain to him, soon...he was not having any of the pain bring brought upon him, causing him to finally yell. "STOP!" The Fairy Slime cried, as the bubble soon stopped spinning.
