Alex took both Cassandra and Bella to Cassandra's room; he did not want all the chaos happening downstairs to affect the mother and daughter.
They reached her room, and Cassandra and Bella sat on the bed, while Alex went downstairs to get some water.
The police had arrived after Theodore surrendered to Natalie. They took him into custody and took away the bodies after doing their due diligence.
Alex walked into the room to see Natalie trying to interview Cassandra, asking about what had happened before they arrived.
"Natalie, I will bring them both to the police station tomorrow; they need some much-needed rest." Alex muttered as he gave the bottle to Bella.
Natalie mused over this for a while and nodded her head in agreement and said, "Alright, I want you three to come to the station tomorrow." She then looked at Alex and continued, "And don't worry about the bodies; I will handle it." She reassured him.
"Thank you; I will treat you to a nice dinner." Alex said, with a smile on his face.
"Haha, yes, I am looking forward to it." She replied, amused.
She then went out of the room, giving them space. The police stayed at the mansion for another two hours and went away.
Alex stayed with the police until they were gone; he informed them about what happened and tweaked and did not mention the things that would get him into trouble.
He sighed in relief as he watched the police go.
*SIGH*
'With that, a major part of the quest is over,' he thought as he remembered the contents of the quest.
"Now all that remains is to seduce Cassandra," he muttered as he formulated a plan to complete his quest.
As he was brooding over his quest's completion, a perverted thought entered his mind,
'What if I hog Bella for myself?' He pondered. As Alex pondered over the idea, he liked it more and more.
'What is it called again?...Ah! Oyakodon!'
"Hehehe," Alex laughed pervertedly.
He entered the main bedroom and noticed that none of them both moved from their spot and were just gazing at the ground.
*SIGH*
'Looks like they are deeply traumatized by what happened.'
He walked over to Bella and crouched down, looked up, and introduced himself: "Hello, Bella, I am Alex Woods; I helped the police find you." He had a small smile on his face as he introduced himself.
Bella was momentarily swept over by Alex's smile but returned to her gloomy face in a moment.
He then walked over to Cassandra and said, "Cassandra, if you are like this, who is going to reassure your daughter? Now everything is over. I will deal with everything that comes in your way, so smile."
Cassandra looked at Alex, with tears forming in her dark brown eyes. She nodded slightly, thanking him.
She then looked over to her daughter and slowly walked up to her, "I missed you, Bella."
As if the invisible force separating had vanished, Bella jumped towards her mother, hugged her tightly, and began to pour her heart out.
"I was so scared, mommy." Bella cried; she cried and cried until there were no tears left to cry. Her tears were drenching Cassandra's clothes.
Cassandra just hugged her daughter and gently rubbed her back; she too cried silently, hugging her daughter.
"It's okay, baby; everything's over now; Mom's here with you." She muttered; her soothing words made the exhausted Bella fall to sleep.
Cassandra gently put her daughter to bed and kissed her on her forehead before whispering, "Sleep well, my baby. I swear I will not let any harm befall you ever again."
Cassandra left the room and joined Alex, who was on the balcony. He left the mother-daughter pair after they started crying.
Cassandra stared at Alex, seemingly falling into a daze and staring at Alex's back.
Alex, who felt someone approaching him, turned around to see Cassandra staring at him.
He felt a jolt of awareness pass through him as he watched Cassandra, her white skin glowing softly under moonlight. He too fell into a trance looking at her.
'What a beautiful woman.' he thought as he stared at her.
They both stared at each other for a while until Cassandra fell out of her daze and coughed a little.
*COUGH COUGH*
She then turned to her side, trying to hide the deep blush on her face.
Alex fell out of his reverie and laughed awkwardly.
'Ugh! This is so awkward.'
He then slowly made his way towards her and asked, "So, is Bella asleep?"
Cassandra nodded at this and muttered, "Yes, she has gone through too much and fell asleep due to exhaustion."
"How are you, Cassandra?" Alex asked, grasping why Cassandra came looking for him.
At his question, Cassandra came running and wrapped her hands around him tightly.
*SOB SOB SOB*
Alex, who is taken aback by Cassandra's sudden embrace, hugged her in return and whispered, "It's alright, Cassandra; everything's over now. Bella is safe."
Cassandra didn't reply and just cried in his embrace.
'It must have taken quite a toll on her.' he lamented as he slowly began patting her back.
Cassandra cried for a few minutes before she looked up and said, "Thank you, Alex. I have found my daughter because of you." Her eyes welled up due to the tears she shed.
Alex gently wiped her tears off and smiled reassuringly and said, "Don't worry about it."
"Can you stay here for the night?" Cassandra asked, her teary eyes pleading with him to say yes.
"Alright." Alex agreed while nodding his head.
Cassandra's eyes gleamed in joy as she heard Alex agree.
"...Mommy," Bella called out, her voice sounding distant.
"Looks like she woke up; we better go to her before she sees us like this." Alex muttered.
Cassandra nodded, disappointment evident in her eyes.
Cassandra's eyes gleamed as a thought entered her mind; a playful smile bloomed on her face for the first time since Bella disappeared. She carefully tiptoed herself and leaned on Alex.
Alex, who understood what Cassandra was about to do, frozen in shock.
Cassandra, closing in on Alex, stopped for a moment and stared at Alex in the eyes with intensity.
'Her eyes are scaring me' Alex commented as he looked at her intense eyes.
Cassandra then closed her eyes and sealed the distance between them.
